In the one year that I’d worked for the mafia, I’d managed to spy on Jason, Cynthia, Nancy and Justin long enough to know that they now stayed in the Banda mansion where Jason and I had once become one. The four now lived as one big happy family.
Perfect, I thought. This’ll make my work easier.

I had also come to learn that they’d gotten married on the same day, what a charade! And that Cynthia was now a mother of twin boys, Nancy being seven months pregnant.
The following day, I left the hotel and rented myself a house in Mtendere. That evening, the man I’d hired gave me a call.
“Madam,” he said, “speak to the maid.”
“Give her the phone.” I told him.
Seconds later, a woman in panic spoke. “Please spare my child, please.”
I said, “I’ll spare both your child’s and your life if you promise me one thing.”
“Anything!” she hurriedly said.
“Good, leave this town and go back to your village. Don’t even think of disclosing this incident to anyone or count yourself dead. Give the phone back to your abductor.”
“Boss?” said the man I had hired to kidnap both the Bandas’ maid and son.


“Rodgers,” I curtly said. “Give her a scare and let her go. Am certain she won’t blurt anything out. If she does, kill her. You’ll get your money tomorrow.”

After leaving Rodgers’ money at some site the following day, I got rid of the sim card I had been using to contact him and went back to my ramshackle in Mtendere.

That night, I kept tossing and turning in bed. I simply couldn’t get any sleep. After waiting for so long, the wheels were now practically in motion.

The following day, I went over to the Banda mansion in Northmead.
“Yes?” asked the other maid when she opened the gate.


“I want to speak to your boss.” I flatly said.
“What for?” she said in a rude tone.
“Am looking for a job.” I calmly replied.
“Wait here.”


After what seemed like an eternity, Cynthia showed up. Clad in a long black dress that showed her curves. She also had a diamond necklace on and diamond earrings, her weave was on point too.


This b---h! I wish I could strangle her right here. I thought. But patience, Cathy, patience.
