As the aeroplane I was in touched down at Kenneth Kaunda International airport, running down the driveway, I couldn’t help but smile maliciously.

“It’s payback time, baby.” I muttered, putting my dark shades back on.
I simply still couldn’t disgest the fact that It had been less than a month since I’d landed in Cape Town, South Africa. I had booked myself a room at a luxurious hotel. Whilst in Zambia I had googled about hospitals and doctors that offered plastic surgery in South Africa. The reason was simple, I needed to have a new face and new identity when I finally approached the four backstabbers. At least then there would be the element of surprise. I finally settled for Dr. Paul J Skoll of Christian Barnard Memorial Hospital with whom I made an appointment beforehand.
So the following day after arriving in S.A, I went straight to his suite. I knocked softly on the door, my heart beating so fast it was like it was going to burst right from my chest.
“Come in.” called a deep voice from inside.

I wrenched the door open and stepped in.
Upon seeing me, the white doctor who seemed to be in his fifties stood up, smiling.
“Am guessing you are Ms. Catherine Chilumba?”
I nodded fervently.

“Take a sit please.” said Dr. Paul casually, gesturing to a leather chair opposite his desk.
I sat. “Thank you for seeing me.” I said, placing my handbag on my laps. “I really appreciate your time, doctor.”
“The pleasure’s all mine.” he said, smiling. “Coffee?”

I shook my head. “Water.”
After making himself some coffee and giving me my water, Dr. Paul said, “When would you like me to start working on your face?”
“Not my face,” I said, sipping my water, “but my body.”
“Your body?” said Dr. Paul incredulously, almosting choking on his coffee. “But your- your face’s literally disfigured! Why would you want me to only work on your body?”
“That, doctor,” I said, smiling maliciously, “is personal. You’ll work on the scars on my body and then make me a mask for me, do you think that’s possible?”
“You mean a mask that looks like a normal human?” he asked.
I nodded.

“Of course it’s possible. As long as you have-”
“Cash?” I finished his sentence for him and embarassed, he shyly nodded, chuckling. “Don’t worry, am loaded.” I assured him.

The surgery was scheduled to take place two weeks after our meeting. And whilst waiting for the surgery, I spent time exploring the beautiful city of Cape Town. Visiting the beach, Table Mountain, District six Museum, Robben Island and many more interesting sites.
