Monster Unleashed - Season 1 - Episode 21

.
The feeling of a throbbing headache was the first feeling I got as I slowly opened my eyes.
“Where am I?” I muttered in a barely audible voice.

I tried moving but couldn’t. It was like I was tied to something, a Morris chair!
I glanced up, four figures stood towering over me. It was difficult to make out who they were cause I was feeling lightheaded and the hazy images before me took a good thirty seconds to materialize.
Cynthia, Jason, Justin and Nancy. Those traitors!

Upon seeing this bunch of hooligans, I recalled everything, my following Cynthia to this cabin and Nancy popping up behind me, knocking me unconscious.
“Why did you do this to me?” I asked, to no one in particular.
“Cathy,” Nancy began but Cynthia cut her short.

“You all take your seats and watch this epic show unfold.” she said excitedly, crouching down before me so that we were now face to face. “We’ll take turns to mock this Cathy b---h!”
Jason, Nancy and Justin took their seats.

“Why?” I asked, fresh warm tears escaping my eyes, my head pounding more. I glanced down at my chest where the tears were falling, my yellow blouse was literally soaked in blood.

“You face me when I speak!” Cynthia snapped, brutally making me face her. “Good. Cathy, Cathy, Cathy.” she added, running her well manicured fingers across my face. She went on, “I hate you Cathy.”
“But why?” I asked unfazed, “I haven’t done anything to make you despise me this much, have I?”

Cynthia stood up, laughing and clapping her hands.
“Did you hear that everyone?” said Cynthia loudly. “The great Cathy dares ask why I hate her? How hypocritical of her huh?” she crouched down before me again. “Cathy, it’s easy to hate you. Too easy. In fact, it’s impossible not to hate. You stole everything from me. I always wanted to be an only child but no, you decided to be my elder sister. As if that wasn’t enough, my twin!”
“Cynthia,” I said, fighting the tears, “you know it ain’t my fault I am your-”
“Shut up!” Cynthia bellowed, slapping me hard across my face. “You don’t interrupt me when am speaking! You got everything I wanted, to be the first born child of the Chilumba family, to be light skinned, to be intelligent, spotlight, father’s love, everything! You name it.”
“This is absurd.” I muttered.
Cynthia ignored me. “As if that weren’t enough, dad decided to leave everything in your name. That hurt me to the core.” she paused, tears running down her cheeks now. “Do you know how it feels to see your father love your sibling more than you? Do you know how it feels to be left with nothing but a battered Jeep and old pet? Do you?”
I shook my head. “Am afraid I don’t. But that doesn’t justify your actions.” I said. “As for dad sidelining you, you are to blame.”
“Me?”

“Yes, you. Remember when you pushed me down the stairs on our 12th birthday? That’s when dad began disliking you.”
Cynthia snorted. “No matter, he’s now dead and everything’s now mine. Am glad to say am not sorry for what I’ve done nor what I’ll do to you soon.”
“What do you mean?”
“Patience,” said Cynthia mockingly, standing up, “you’ll find out sooner than you expect. Nancy love, your turn.” added Cynthia who took a seat besides Justin.
Nancy stepped over and then stooped down before me.

“You back-stabbing b---h!” I spitefully said, spitting in Nancy’s face. She wiped the spit off her face and hit me hard across the face.
“Nancy!” Jason yelled from where he was seated.

“Shut the f--k up, Jason!” Nancy yelled back. “This b---h’s reign is over and am free to do with her as I please. As for you,” she paused, glaring at me, “I hate you!”
“I can clearly see that,” I replied. “But your spite will be the end of you. All I wanna know is why you hate me so much.”
Nancy gave out a sarcastic laugh. “It’s easy,” she said, “what I have for you is known as natural hatred. What did you say to me the day you met Jason? That keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer? That’s exactly what I’ve been doing all these years.”
“You are a disgrace!” I said through gritted teeth.

“I don’t give a d--n about what you think of me!” she snapped. “What matters is that am now a free bird who’ll no longer be seen in your shadows. What did you think? That you were playing Jason? Well, you’re a dumb b---h who’s been played at her own game. How pathetic!” she stood up.
I couldn’t help but shade tears. “Who’s next?” I asked as Nancy sat next to Jason. “Jason? Don’t feel shy, come mock me. But I promise you all that you’ll pay for this. I swear.”

“It’s not good to make empty threats you know?” Justin spoke up from where he was seated.

“And you,” I said, glaring at Justin, “what wrong did I ever do you?”
