Monster Unleashed - Season 1 - Episode 19

.
NANCY’S POV.

Growing up, I had always been overshadowed by Cathy. To be on uncle’s good side, I had always been Catherine’s tail. Wherever she went, so did I. Whatever she did, I tried my best to something as pleasant as it.
To cut the long story short, I grew up envying, loving and despising Cathy. Everything was always about her. No wonder even her own flesh and blood, her own twin, despised her to the core.

The Cathy b---h was always bossy. And things became worse when uncle hired me as her secretary. Seriously, who hires their own niece to be their daughter’s maid? To me, being Cathy’s secretary was as good as being her maid. And my hatred for her worsened.

The opportunity to get back at her popped up one night out of the blue.
It was late, I had just gone to bed when someone knocked on my door.
Scowling, I got out of bed, flicked the light on and wrenched the door open. Before me stood Cynthia, in her night gown.

“What do you want?” I asked cattily, not bothering to invite her in.
“Nancy,” she said quietly, “I come as a friend.”

I couldn’t help but snort. “The last time I checked,” I said, feigning a yawn, “you and I were like oil and water. Incompatible!”
“True that. But I’ve got an offer you won’t resist. It’s the offer that comes once in a lifetime.”
“Really?”

She nodded. Knowing how adamant Cynthia was, I ushered her in. She made herself comfortable on my bed. I sat next to her.
“You better say your piece fast,” I said in a haughty tone, “I ain’t got time to waste.”
“Glad to know.” said Cynthia flatly. “You and I have something in common.”
“Do we now?” I wasn’t paying the least attention to what she was saying.
“Our hatred for Cathy.” said Cynthia at once, a malicious smile spread across her cheeks.

The words ‘hatred for Cathy’ elated me, but I managed to hide my excitement.
“What makes you think I hate Cathy?” I asked.

Cynthia sighed. “Nancy,” she said, patting my shoulder, “I’ve known you for more than 20 years now. I’ve seen how you get when something great happens to Cathy. It’s like you just want to grab her throat right there and then strangle her to death.”
How does she know? “Am sorry, but you are simply wasting my time.” I said, standing up and gesturing Cynthia to leave my room. “It’s too late to be disturbing my peace with such far-fetched crap! I need to get some rest, I’ve got a long day ahead of me tomorrow.”

Cynthia stood up so that we now stood face to face. She smirked. “What if I told you how to get rid of that b---h once and for all?”
It took me some seconds to respond but I finally said, “Out you go.”
“What if I told you you could get 40% of the company?” said Cynthia breathlessly, intently studying me.
Silence.

I slumped back onto the bed. “Am all ears.” my voice was barely audible.
“Great.” exclaimed Cynthia, taking her seat besides me.

And that’s when Cathy’s doom began. Jason, Justin, Cynthia and I loved to refer to our plan as, “Cathy’s Doom!”
And so I stole the title deeds for the land in the outskirts of Lusaka and handed them to Cynthia who gave them to Jason. They then brought in Mr. Njobvu and handed him a sum of money to invest in Cathy’s company. After eight months, Cynthia organised some men to make the shopping mall in Meanwood collapse. How they did it, I don’t know.
Jason and I became lovers whilst Cynthia and Justin did the same. After eight long miserable months of eager anticipation, we finally got everything from Cathy the bossy b---h. Her company, her wealth, mansion, everything!

The plan was to divide the company amongst ourselves and then go our separate ways. So here I was, in the bushes, at the cabin where we held our meetings.

As I drove here, I noticed Cathy’s car parked at a distance from Cynthia’s.
“S--t!” I cursed under my breath. “I hope that b---h hasn’t heard nor seen anything she shouldn’t have.”
My first thought was to give either Jason or Cynthia a call and warn them of Cathy’s intrusion but this part of the city had poor signal. So I instead hurried into the bushes.
Upon reaching the clearing, I noticed a silhouette that I guessed to be Cathy’s. She was pacing up and down as if trying to give someone a call. She seemed to have thought against it and decided to go back to her eavesdropping on my accomplices. Glancing down, I noticed a log of wood lying on the ground.

Great!

I picked it up and tiptoed behind Cathy. When I was a few inches from her, I patted her on the shoulder.

She turned on the spot.

It was too dark to see her facial expression so I instead said, “Curiosity killed the cat huh?”. Before the b---h could react, I hit her with the log in my hand and she fell to the ground. I hit her four more times until I was certain she was unconscious.

No sooner had I given her the last blow than the cabin’s door was wrenched open. Jason, Cynthia and Justin stopped in their tracks. Using a flashlight, Jason illuminated Cathy’s unconscious body. Cynthia winced and stuck herself towards Justin. Jason stooped down and carried Cathy’s body into the cabin.

“What have you done to her?” Jason asked, placing Cathy’s limp body on a Morris chair. “I hope she ain’t dead.”
