KOLA
Guess baby (his face beaming with smile)

RITA
What nah, please tell me you know we nigeria sU-Cks in guessing (lolz that’s true sha).

KOLA
I just got the job

RITA
What job? (looking very surprise)

KOLA
Oh sorry, around last mouth I submitted my files in one company like that, they need an accountant and a manager so I applied for manager post. They just text me now that I have gotten the job.

RITA
Wow, God is great I’m really happy for you dear. (I hugged him)

KOLA
Thank you very much dear. They said I should come and pick my appointment latter first thing tomorrow morning.

RITA
Alright that’s good. (I wasn’t happy)

KOLA
Hey babe, what’s wrong your mood is good cool.

RITA
Nothing, I’m just going to be alone in this big house.

KOLA
I’m sorry baby, but you do know we need this right?

RITA
Yeah, I do know. Congratulation dear.
Kola started the job the following week, the house was boring without him, his sister sometime come to visit me and he doesn’t even stay out late anything 4pm to 4:30pm his already at home.


THREE MONTHS LATER
It was Friday, kola came back from work looking very down, at first I got scared I thought maybe something bad has happen but he told me he was fine. I wanted to make dinner but he refuse that I should get dress we are eating out. I was not surprise because for the past three months now he doesn’t allow me to make dinner we ate out.

I was expecting him to drive us to an eatery but he drove us to a garden. I was surprise because he hasn’t taken me to such place before. As if he could read minds he said “don’t worry I just want us to have a change of air”. I smiled
Kola already made reservation for us, immediately we got there a young man showed us out table.

He order for drinks, and roasted chicken I just sat down watching him, but one look at him one could tell he was nervous he was just sweating anyhow.

RITA
Are you ok? You have been acting weird since you got back.

KOLA
I’m fine, just a headache

RITA
Oh, so sorry dear, do we go get drugs?

KOLA
Maybe later dear (he smiled)
Our order was brought, we ate in silent (I because he didn’t even touch his)
