RITA

Good evening ma

MRS OWOLABI
Evening my young lady. It seen we have met before, I just can’t place where.

RITA
Yes ma, we have at the hospital the day kola was admitted.

MRS OWOLABI
Oh yes, I remember now (she hugged me) how have you been?

RITA
I’m fine ma.

KOLA
Mum where’s dad and my baby girl (his sister)

MRS OWOLABI
Dad’s out of town, while your girl is inside her room.

KOLA
I will slap her when I get inside, so she didn’t hear me drive in right?

MRS OWOLABI
Please leave my baby girl for me ooh. Please let’s go inside my dear.

It was a really warm welcome they gave me, they were all nice especially his kid sister. When she downstairs and saw us she was so excited. She told me her brother has never brought any woman home before. His mother was so nice to me she said “if my son ask you should ask you to marry him please say yes” I just smiled

RITA
Kola and I ain’t even dating.

MRS OWOLABI
You soon will, my son has never brought any lady home, for you to be here? You must be special dear.

I had a nice time with kola’s family but I was still nervous about the dad, what if his not as kind as his family? What if he sees me as a go digger? I was really scared.

Three weeks later I fell sick, kola took me to the hospital and I was told I had typhoid fever, I spent a week at the hospital because it was really serious. After I was discharged kola mum asked me to come spend some time with them so she can take care of me properly. Well I accepted but kola didn’t he said he couldn’t stay in his house all by himself, and that he could let me go on one condition and that is him going with me.

Kola and I moved to his family house, his father was back from his trip, kola’s father was even more nicer, he made my stay there enjoyable. Anytime his coming back from work he always come back with gifts for me (so sweet)and that made kola jealous, he wishes to spend time with me but his family were always around me. It was just a week we intended to spend but we ended up spending three weeks because kola father wouldn’t let us leave.

Weekend came and kola and I went back to his apartment, I was fine down everything was back to normal. Kola and I became more closer and free. I was grateful to God for giving me a family that I never had.

There was this day I was in the kitchen making lunch, I heard kola’s voice from the living room, screaming I quickly ran out hoping nothing bad has happened.
