Around 8:00pm we were still at the garden I was already tired and feeling sleepy. I was about to tell kola to take me home when the same young man that show us our table brought any plate covered with red and white clothes, he left immediately.

RITA
You order for something else?

KOLA
Yes.

RITA
I’m full, so finish up, let’s go I’m feeling sleepy.

He didn’t reply me just stare at me as if I have sudden grow Horns, he held my hands and inhale before he closed his eyes and open them.

KOLA
Promise me whatever I’m gonna do here tonight you will forgive me?

I was shocked, what could he do to me that I can’t forgive him.

RITA
Alright, but please don’t make me scared.

KOLA
You know I would never do that baby. Please turn your back, there’s a surprise waiting for you.
Well I turned my back, but I did that slowly because I was scared. Guess what I saw? Some team of people stood there with a board in the hands each one carrying his own later. At first I was confuse what was the meaning of what is written on the board then they decided to help me by joining the words together then it hit me “will you marry me” my mouth flew open I turn my back to face kola but I found him kneeing with his right leg and a shiny ring in his hand.

KOLA
Rita Johnson, will you make me the happiest man on earth by marring me?

My tears drop, why me? A poor girl with no background, when there are plenty of fish in the river why choose me?

KOLA
Knowing you has added value to my life, it has made me realize how beautiful love is, I know I should have started by asking you out but you are to pure to be put to trial and all that. My love for you started right from the hospital bed. Please I will be the happiest man on earth if you marry me.

RITA

KOLA

RITA

Voices started coming from other tables, begging me to say ‘yes’ I was still confuse and not knowing what to say. Just then an elderly woman came to our table and place her hands on my shoulder.

WOMAN
My daughter, you had better say “yes” before I take the ring from him and become his bride to be. Everyone laughed even kola chuckle.

Everyone started begging me to say ‘yes’ to the cute guy.
