They walked inside the house hand in hand. He locked the door as she walked to the loudge. She sat on the sofa and the clock stroke eight-thirty. He removed his shoes and went to sit beside her. He took her hand and looked directly into her eyes.

“What is it my lady? Talk to me. I hate seeing you like this. I apologise if I have offended you in anyway.”

“You didn’t do anything,” she murmured.
“Then tell me what’s bothering you. You hardly talked in the car. You were giving me one word answer. This isn’t you. What have you done to my Adela? I need her back please. I miss her smile, laugh, just everything about her,” He smiled.

She had a lot of things to worry about but couldn’t tell him.
“It’s nothing. I am just tired that is all. I wasn’t crying.”
“I don’t believe you. Is it about Miley? Miley and I are enemies. I don’t like her and I will never.”
He looked at him.
“I I I…”

“Listen Adela,” she cut him short. “Thinking of you keeps me awake. Dreaming of you keeps me asleep. Being with you keeps me alive but most of all, loving you keeps me. Nothing can ever change the way that I feel. I am lost on you. I will die for you. I will be your soldier to the very end. Fairytale love that’s what we are all about, beauty and the beast our love is meant to last if they put a brick wall in between us. I love you Adela and no one. I mean no one will ever come between us. This love is unbreakable and unmistakable,” He held her tightly in his arms. “This heart beats for you only my love. My mother and Miley can go to hell for all I care. I didn’t like the way she treated you this morning. If it wasn’t for my dad I would have told her to shut her mouth. No one will ever disrespect my lady in my presence. I mean noone. As a matter of fact I want you to quit that job. You no longer need the money to go to school. I will pay for it.”
“But I love my job.”
“Oh please. Who loves working for that villain lady. She doesn’t appreciate what you and Auntie Gloria do. She doesn’t even respect Auntie Gloria. What kind of a woman is that?”
Adela burst out laughing.
“She is your mother Stevie.”
“I wish she wasn’t my mother,” he said laughingly. “I am happy you laughed. You ju…,” he stopped at midsentence when his phone rang. “Speaking of the devil. Hello!” he responded. “Let me put it on loudspeaker,” he whispered to Adela.
ANGELA: Stevie! Hello!”

STEVIE: Mum, I am here what is it? Do you need to shout?”

ANGELA: How can you embarass me like that? You just left the house without saying goodbye. How could you s..

STEVIE: Angela, stop shouting. You know mum I have had it with you. I am sick and tired of you trying to control my life. I am not a little boy anymore. I am 26. Why can’t you respect me? You know very well that I hate Miley very much. But what did you do? Invited her to our house. If you think I am going to marry that s--t then you should think twice inviting me to dine with her. There is a girl that I love very much ( he looked at Adela) She is all that I ever wanted. I would be crazy to dump her for Miley. Let it be the last time you try to hook me up with her. Are we together mother?

ANGELA: But can’t we j..
STEVIE: I said, Are we together?
ANGELA: Fine! ( she hanged up the call).
“I will just go and prepare dinner,” said Adela sitting up.

“No, my lady. Come sit with me. I want you close.”
She sat down.
“Have I ever told you how much I love you?”
“No!” she smiled.
“I love you more than my mum.”
“Liar!”
“No, I am serious. I wish you could teach my mother some manners, respect. I just feel pity for my dad. My mother can be a nuisance sometimes, too controlling. When I used to date Bianca, she never wanted to meet my mother.”
“Why?”

“Actually she met her once and it didn’t go down well. Busy asking her stupid questions. As for you she won’t dare try to hurt you. I will kill her with my own bare hands. You part of me now and I can’t live without you. I promise Auntie Gloria to take care of you. I told my dad that I loved you. He was happy. He knows that you are a good girl. If that woman try to come between us. There will be hell to pay.”
“Thats deep. I love you too but I wouldn’t want you to choose me over your mother. I always want you to respect her. She is your mother after all.”
“Okay, my lady. But if she dare..,” he stopped at midsentence.

Briefly her gaze locked with his, then her eyelids fluttered closed as the pressure of his lips met hers. The kiss was hard, demanding much more. She wound her arms around his neck. Her lips and her body asked for more and he responded, making her heart thump hard. She broke the kiss.
“I am sorry. I have never done this before. I am virgin,” she said.

“It’s okay I understand. Me too. I have never you know. We will take things slow. I don’t want to force you. I will take you to your room,” he said softly
