Unbreakable Love - Season 1 - Episode 7

*Remember, for everything you have lost, you have gained something else. Without the dark, you would never see the stars*

They say that when you fall in love with someone, you feel euphoria and weak in the knees. Supposedly, you just know. Its something over which you have no control.

Stevie was sitting in a bar drinking alcohol.
“Another one please.”
“Man, we are closing. It’s best if you go home, take a shower and have a cup of coffee. You have been drinking since yesterday. Whatever is going on around you. Alcohol will never be a solution. You need to be with your family,” said the bartender.
“Are you now my brother?”
“I am telling you the truth.”
“Fine! I am out!”
He rose from the chair and walked out of the bar. He was about to open his car door when four men approached him.

“Hey, man. Wassup,” said one of them.
He ignored them and opened the car door. One of them grabbed his hand.
“We are talking to you.”
He stood and avoided being caught in a triangle between the attackers. He observed his surroundings. He kept his opponents in a line by backing away from them.
“I don’t want to fight,” he spoke.

One of them punched him and he punched back. Because they were many two of them had their hands on him. He couldn’t push them away. They started punching him on the face and on the stomach. They took his car keys and money, left him lying on the ground bleeding. He tried getting up but it was hard. He finally got up not knowing where he was heading since it was dark. Suddenly everything seemed blur and he collapsed.

He woke up early in the morning with a headache. Silence and smell of coffee greeted him. It was a three roomed house. He had a bandage on his hand.

“You awake!” She said with her sweet voice.
“What am I doing here? Ouch!” He tried getting up
“Lie down. You badly hurt. I saw you on the dust road on my way from my grandmother’s house last night.”
“You saved my life?”
She just smiled. He had his breakfast and took a bath. She sat on the floor in her sitting room with a black and white television.
“Thank you for everything!”
“You welcome. Do you want to talk about it?”
“Pardon!”
“I know that something is troubling you sir. You need someone to talk to. When you left, madam couldn’t stop crying. I wanted to call her this morning but I couldn’t. What happened?” she asked her eyes on him.

He had never opened to anyone before since he broke up with Bianca. She looked young. Was she going to understand his situation?

“I know you probably saying, she is young and will never understand my situation,” as if she was reading his mind. “But try me sir.”

He smiled and took a deep breath. He began,
“My heart has been shattered. I am feeling certain that it will never be put back together.”
“Feeling broken can be debilitating and hard to move through.”

“I know but I feel like ending my life right now. Why does it have to be me?”
“Feeling broken doesn’t mean that you should just give up entirely, however it just means you need to take a step back and let those feelings come to the surface,” she went on. “We all feel broken from time to time because life can seem heartbreaking and terrifying when we go through certain experiences. These life lessons only make us stronger and more capable of dealing with life, through, so use your brokeness as a gift that will help you grow as a person.”
“I don’t know but it seemed so hard to forget about what my best friend did to me. He betrayed me. Is life full of unhappiness?”
She smiled.

“I lost my parents at a young age. I dropped out of school to work as a maid because I couldn’t afford to pay for my tuition fees. I wanted to be a doctor. I lived in the streets for about six months before your father saw me,” she sighed. “If you didn’t become broken from time to time, there would be no place for the light to enter your soul. Basically it takes awful, heart wrenching experiences for us to see all the good in the world sometimes and for us to go through a transformation of the soul. If we just had positive, uplifting experiences all the time, we would have no room to grow and no life experiences that would challenge us to become more resilient, powerful people,” she continued. “You can’t expect life to grant you an easy ride if it did, you would miss out on life changing experiences that would break you apart, and rebuild you into a better version of yourself. Many parts of ourselves open up when we feel broken, so remember this any time you feel exhausted and utterly shattered by life. ‘cracks allow light to come in,” She stopped.
He stared at her.
“Wow! You so good with words. You had me there. I mean. Are you some kind of an angel send by God to save me?”
She laughed.
“I am just Adela, the maid,” she stood up. “I have to go to work. I am already late.”
“Adela! Don’t tell my parents that I am here. I am not ready to face them.”
“Sure thing I won’t tell them. Make yourself at home. I will see you later,” she said heading to the door
