Unbreakable Love - Season 1 - Episode 6

*It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend*

Have you ever noticed that every single movie wedding follows almost exactly the same script? Not only do they use the same wording, but they also tend to differ from whats happens at a real life wedding ceremony, right? For some reason, in movie wedding ceremonies there’s often a dramatic moment where the minister says,
“If any of you has reasons why these two should not be married, speak now or forever hold your peace.”

It’s an overused plot device in movies that gives an opportunity to an ex-lover of the bride or groom to rush forward, proclaiming his or her cover, or for some new shocking information to be revealed about the couple.

Well back at the wedding, everybody was staring at him. What did he do? He walked to the alter wearing a golf t-shirt, jeans and some sneakers. Daniel stared at him and clenched his fist. He didn’t even had the guts to call security.
“As I was saying,” he stood beside the Pastor. “These two shouldn’t get married because I, the best man hadn’t arrived yet. I was invited to this wedding. I am sorry but my flight took long. Where should I stand?” He made a step closer to her. “Here!”
She searched his eyes, looking for a hint of mockery, but found only a heart-rending tenderness. He stroked his fingers down her cheek, lifting her chin.

“You looking beautiful Bianca. Very beautiful. Attention please,” He turned to face the guests. “You see this lady standing beside me. She used to be my girlfriend.”

Noise came out from the guests. What was he trying to do? Make fun of her.

“I loved her with all of my heart. She was the best thing that ever happened to me. I am not good with words but this lady here broke my heart. She cheated on me with my friend. Let me rephrase that, my best friend. Yah that seems more like it. Anyways I guess it’s time for me to move on. Why holding on to someone who is already carrying my best friend’s child. Soon I will be Godfather,” His eyes on her.

He smiled at her and she looked aside. “Pastor, please continue with the ceremony.Whooop de doo! I am very happy for the newly weds. In the power invested in me, I declare you two husband and wife”

He was about to walk away when Daniel stopped him.
“Can we go talk in private?”
“Sure!” he agreed.

The two guys walked out of the church and went outside.

“What the hell was that?” asked the angry Daniel.

“What are you talking about?”
“Stop pretending man. Did you come here to ruin my wedding? What is your objective?”
“Objective?”
“Listen man. I am sorry for what happened. You didn’t need to do that. Bianca is going to be my wife whether you like it or not. Get that inside your head. Stay away from me and her. Stop acting childish. Act like an adult. It’s part of life having your best friend betray you. Not that I betrayed you. I won.”
“This wasn’t a game,” spoke Stevie.
“Of cause it wasn’t. You knew better than anyone else that Bianca wasn’t your type. I am the minister’s son. Look she chose me over you. Move on already man.”
“How could you do this to me man?”
“I didn’t do anything bruh. Your girl needed attention. She always came to my house crying saying that she misses you. Do you know that she asked me to break her virginity? Yes, she was tired of waiting up for you. I gave her what she asked for. And now look she is going to be my wife,” he touched his shoulders. “I have a wedding to get to. Good luck man. And one last thing I don’t need you to be my baby’s Godfather. I will find someone else, someone who is better.”

He left him standing and watched him getting inside the church. How should you react when you find out that a friend betrayed you? How do you turn your anger into something positive instead but without being on the losing end?
Friendship is supposed to be one of the things that make life worth living but what happens when your friends betray you? Betrayal is never pleasant, but it’s always seem to hurt just a little more when it comes from a person. Who you were once close to. The feeling of being in love is so intense that it feels like it will last forever. We can’t believe that the other person doesn’t feel the same way. We can’t believe that this sacred relationship has been betrayed. You may have be sure that you were in the same wavelength and that you understand each other.
Meanwhile, you have been walking on parallel and eventually divergent tracks the entire time. The feelings of betrayal and hurt may take many years to heal.

Stevie really tried to move on but always find himself in a bar. He used to smoke and drink from dawn to dusk back to dawn. His was not a nose but a chimney. Puffing up smoke day and night. To him everything seemed stationery, drugs controlled his life. Living without Bianca to him was removing a fish from water. He became a man with no fixed abode. Pubs and nights were his home. He couldn’t forget about her.
