” we were just playing “. She informed him and I giggled then she turned to me with a curious face.

“I thought we weren’t playing?”. I shrugged and she punched me on my arm hard.

” Be serious”. She said to me then turned to senior and made an apology gesture before he continued.

“This school is not just a private school but a missionary school too. There are some strict morals and discipline that are expected of us. You two always hugging and cuddling is not one of them”. He went on with his counseling or whatever it was, I wasn’t buying any of his words though but, Sharon seemed so keen paying attention and nodding to them. He later ended his 30 minutes counseling and asked that we could go. We turned to leave then he called us back.
” One more thing. I want you both to be my friends “. He asked us and I giggled.
” I don’t keep older friends “. I refused and Sharon hit me again.

” of course we are”. She said to him and we left. Something weird though, Sharon didn’t hold me like she always do. So, I prayed this encounter Wasn’t going to change her in anyway. She didn’t say a word to me till we got downstairs, she pushed me.

“What do you call what you did in there”. She asked me but I said nothing rather stared at her in shock. She smiled when she saw my face then apologized.
” But, you were over reacting in there”. She said and I shrugged.
“Not really. Just wasn’t buying his craps”. I said and she smiled, that smile gave me a relief that she was still on my side.
“Maybe he was saying crap. But, the fact that he didn’t use Jenny’s tone made it cool”. She said as we started walking to our class.

” Well, funny enough you bought the whole crap”. I said and she stopped then frowned at me.
“I didn’t buy it”.
” oh yes you did. You even agreed to be his friend or didn’t you?”. I asked her and she scoffed.
“We agreed to be his friend”. She corrected.
” I didn’t agr….”
“We’re not going to argue about this now. So, hope you love your result this term?”. She asked me and I shrugged.
” At least I’m not going to be grounded by my dad this time”. I said as we continued walking to our class and she laughed.
“Your annual score is good, Maybe you’d have beaten chidimma this term if not for last term’s result”. She said.
” Maybe, so you see last term’s result still haunts me”. We said nothing else to each other till we got to our class door then I blocked her.

“And you too Despite not being here in the first term you got fourth”. I said holding her hands and she shrugged.
“. Teachers gifted me average scores for first term though”.

” What I meant is you kept your word, and we did better because of you”. I said sincerely and she smiled at me.
“Guess you have to start believing me when I say something”. She said then crossed her hands around my neck, we both said nothing just staring into our eyes.
” is the end of term. Nobody is going to punish us for having another hug right? “. She asked and I shrugged.
” going to take more than just the Headboy “. I said and she chuckled then hugged me tightly.

The hug lasted as long as it had to, till chidimma walked up to us and grunted then we broke the hug.

“Last hug for the session I guess”. She said smiling at the both of us.
” Maybe or maybe not”. Sharon said.
“Am guessing you need some hug too”. I added then went to hug her then she pushed me away and we all laughed.
” How’d you cope without each other this 7 weeks coming? “. Chidimma asked and folded her arms.

” Not like you wouldn’t miss us too”. I glared at her and she laughed.
“Oh I sure will but, I will live through it”. She replied.

” And so will we”. Sharon said slowly and chidimma smirked at her.
“That wasn’t so easy for you to say. was it?”. She asked and Sharon shook her head.
” Honestly it wasn’t”. She said then excused herself and walked out.
“She’s missing you already”. Chidimma said to me as we both watched her leaving.
” Aren’t you?”. I asked her jokingly and she smiled. I was going to miss Sharon a lot, and the fact that this holiday was the longest made it more difficult but, no one has to know this, am still Godson.

“Don’t worry, the holiday will be over before you know it”. She said to me and I laughed.

” it better do”. I said and we both laughed again. Sharon came back and sneaked a paper into my hand but chidimma saw it, it was a phone number.
“Whose number is this?”. I asked her confusedly.

” Mine”. She said frowning at me.
Sharon already had a phone in JSS1 and my parents said I’ll only get one when I’m done with secondary school. Here she was thinking I had one, good thing she didn’t ask for mine but rather wrote hers because I didn’t want her to know I didn’t have.
“Please always call me with it. Don’t let me miss you more than I have to”. She pleaded and I nodded.

” So, is just your boyfriend that gets your number?”. Chidimma asked jealously and Sharon apologized then wrote it down for her too. We had another hug before she hugged chidimma too then came back and hugged me again.

“Remember to..”.
” I’ll call you. I promise”. I assured her.
“Have a Lovely Holiday baby “. She said caressing my cheeks and we both laughed over it, then she pecked me and ran out. Chidimma hugged me too before I left.
” I’d miss my two best friends “. She said and bade me goodbye. We all went home in a cheerful mood.
