The third term was just like she’d promised, we did better or more like she did better. She took care of my notes and hers, and would always force me to pay attention in class even when I didn’t want to. I had gotten attached to her. She didn’t end there, She always made sure I don’t play ball with my shirt and jacket on, she’d force me to take them off and she’d fold them nicely and keep them with her till I was done. A youth corper that taught us Basic tech that year couldn’t believe Sharon and I were not related. First he thought she was my sister, then later said we were cousins. Everybody knew we were too close, and only few were against it. Our form mistress fulfilled her promise of changing our sitting positions but it didn’t last for long before me and Kelvin rearranged it the way it was. I wouldn’t sit with her when the form mistress is in class but, whence she left I’d join my girl.

She later found out and threatened to punish me but, never did see it through. That third term I Came second and she took fourth. She jumped on me when she saw my result and pecked me full on my cheek, luckily enough our form mistress didn’t see that part but still asked her to kneel for shouting so loud in class. I stood at a corner and taunted her timelessly until she was freed. She started faking anger and I taunted her the more, she picked her shoe and started chasing me around, we ran around the whole school multiple times till I got tired and let her catch me. She held me tight on my neck and asked me to apologise, I found a way and tickled her and she laughed hard then left me. We both sat on the playground gasping for air and laughing at the same time.

“It’s been long I played like this”. I said breathing fast and she hit me on my leg.
” we weren’t playing? You were making fun of me and I didn’t like it”. She said trying as hard not to smile.

“Oh really? Well I’m not sorry for that”. I said and made to stand then she pulled me back down.

” oh yes you will be “. She said then Started tickling me hard till I was flat on the ground laughing, then she sat on my stomach and held me playfully on my neck asking me to apologise. Thank God we were both on our sports wears or that could have been an awkward position to see a boy and a girl in, even in our sports wears I still feel it was but I was still busy laughing and trying to catch my breath. Then the acting Head boy came around, and asked us to follow him immediately then started walking towards the classroom areas. Personally, I wasn’t going to go answer him because the outlawz had declared a no recognition of the present seniors from next term.

“Hey ain’t you coming?”. Sharon asked when I didn’t get up with her.
“Float him and his badge, I’m not”. I said then sat up, she came and pulled me up.
” He is the Head boy, we should give him that respect “. She said and I scoffed.
” Headboy my foot. The term’s ended and so did any prefects or seniority”. I said and made to pull her along with me but she refused.

“Well you can go on then because it didn’t end for me, and don’t worry I will send him your regards”. She winked at me and started heading towards the classroom areas. I stood there watching her for a while, let out a loud sigh then followed her. I caught up with her on the stairs, she saw me and smiled.

“Thought you weren’t coming”. She said smiling at me and I shrugged.
“I couldn’t just leave my girlfriend with the Headboy alone, someone’s got to watch you. I promised your mum that”. She laughed and punched me on my arm.
” you should get ready for a long preaching then”. She said and I laughed too.

“What?”.
” Well it’s a good thing you’re ready too”. I said and she nodded. Once we got to his class Ss2E(science), we both stopped at the door, she sighed then threw her right arm under my left’s and rested her head on my shoulder. Some Ss2s were seated at the corridor, all staring at us in shock.
“What’re you doing?”. I asked her and she shrugged.

” giving them more to talk about”. We both smiled And walked into the class with pride. The class was scanty as expected, since school has closed. The Headboy was chatting and smiling with a girl I presumed to be his girlfriend.

“Here they are, having their happy relationship and envying someone else’s”. I said inwardly.

“Good day seniors”. Sharon greeted which they hardly answered so, I spared mine. The girl stood up and left after a few inaudible words with him. He stalled for a while watching the way we held ourselves,Sharon noticed and stood properly before he spoke.
” I asked you both to follow me immediately. This is not immediately “. He said staring at us intensely.

” Well, we hadn’t actually decided on….”. Sharon covered my mouth before I could end the coldest response I’d planned to give him.
“Sorry Senior. We didn’t know it was so urgent so, we stopped at a place or two. Please we’re sorry”. Sharon apologized. The dude stalled again, continuously staring at me but I wasn’t bothered then he sighed and sat up properly.

“So, I did a research on you two”. He commenced.

” Well this should be fun?”. I scoffed and Sharon drew my hand as she always did when she doesn’t want me to interrupt.
“And I found out that you both are not related in anyway. Not from same family,Local Government, State and not even the same street. So….”

“Sorry bro but, where did you make all this research? Computer lab?”. I interrupted him with a question and he gave me an angry look.

” Don’t interrupt me again “. He said then Sharon Apologized again on my behalf then turned to me.

“Godson stop it, He is the Headboy…”.
” Acting head boy. Might still not get the badge “. I said looking at his face boldly but he didn’t react in anyway so I continued.
” But, I shouldn’t be the reason he doesn’t. So, Apologies”. I said then hid my hands in my pocket. He stalled again watching me this time with a smile before he continued.
“So I asked how and why are you this close when you’re not related and I was told you’re in a relationship?” He Said concentrating his stare at me and I smiled but said nothing.

“Yeah am guessing you had a nice source”. Sharon replied him.

” Why? Why….”
“Why? We just saw you with….”. Sharon held my mouth again and I calmed down.
” Okay am not saying it’s wrong to have a relationship and this boyfriend and girlfriend stuff but, why at this age? Am not going to ask you to end your relationship, that’s not why I called you here”. He said and we( Sharon and I) sighed together at same time then laughed a little at our reaction, he smiled too.
“What you are having is rare and I’m a fan of teenage love too believe me or not but I’m going to ask you to be discreet about it. Don’t rush into things you know nothing about, Playing Romeo and Juliet at a young age is not really conducive. Imagine the position I met you two in the field, that’s not a position you expect to see a boy and a girl in school”. Sharon scoffed when he said the last part and he stopped.
