[Tobias’s Oddsion]
Seraphina woke up to the gentle sensation of a soft flesh over her lips, and that prompted her eyes to open fast, taking in daylight.
Tobias’s head came up, lips parting from hers, and she gave him a drowsy stare.
“You were kissing me in my sleep?”
“Couldn’t resist. I kissed you all night.” He stroked her eyebrows.
She puckered her lips, and he kissed her again, deep.
“Tell me bout your night,” he brushed her hair away from her face.
“Slept like a baby, you should know since you watched me.” She gave him a drowsy, babyish smile.
His phone dinged, and he picked with a scowl. It’s a text from Jude.
J: Everything’s set for the party.
“What party?” Seraphina asked immediately.
She read it with him, actually.
“I was planning a business party tommorow to celebrate the success my two companies, and the plan was to lure Vince out with the party, but now that you’re back, I’m rethinking. If Vince appears, it’s gonna get bloody and loud again, and we’re only just reuniting, we—”
“Do it, Tobias.” She cut in.
Silence.
“Are you sure, baby?”
“Do it,” she repeated. “Anything to end the son of a bîtch. I can even add the opening of my crocheting headquarters to the celebration.”
“And then we can add the opening of your lady-care company.” He announced.
“My what??” She blinked.
He reached for his drawer, drew it out, and pulled out the heart of NYC land documents and the paperwork of the lady-care company that has been built on it.
“It’s already in your name, you only have to sign.” He said.
“Tobiasssss….” She drawled, getting emotional again.
“They locked you in the cellar monthly for your period, but now, you can control and protect the period flow of ladies properly. You’ll remain in the hearts of females forever, cos the pad products is superior. I selected them myself.” He explained gently.
She drowned him in a hug immediately, peppering his face with kisses all around. Lips, nose, eyes, jaws, chin, head, and everywhere.
“I love you so much, love of my fuckin’ life … I love you Daddy…”
“I’m still Daddy?” He grinned.
“You’re forever Daddy, with boy toy and sweet man as the icing.” She dipped her face in his chest, laughing.
“What do you want for breakfast? I’ll have the maids start work.” He asked.
Before she could reply, her phone buzzed alive.
She took it, only to see an unknown number. She picked anyways, and a flood of tears invaded her ears.
She recognized the voice immediately.
“Bexley?”
“Seraphina, I know I’ve never treated you well, and I know we’ve never been in good terms. I know I’ve never been good to you or said anything nice to you, but that was then. Now, I’ve realized how stupid and senseless I was, and I’m sorry….”
“Breathe in, and talk to me without crying…” Seraphina said.
“Allis doesn’t want to see me. I know she has all right to be mad at me for disgracing her, but…I can’t take it, and I feel like dying. I swear I’m not a prostitute. I only danced nakedly at the club, but I wasn’t touched. I’ve never had sex before, I swear. Please believe me and help me beg Allis. I…. I’m not a slut.”
Seraphina sighed, nodding.
“I get you, Bexley.”
“You believe me?” Bexley sniffled.
“I do.” Seraphina said.
There was silence afterwards.
“I’m with my man right now, and I don’t think I’ll be seeing Allison till noon. But I promise when I see her, I’ll talk to her. Today, unfailingly.”
“Thank you, Seraphina.” Bexley appreciated.
The call ended, and Seraphina left the room with Tobias after they cleaned up their mouths at the bathroom.
As they went down the lift, Odds were smiling, beaming.
“Mrs. St. Graves!”
They began hailing again, and Seraphina just clung to Tobias’s arm, smiling at their voices.
“Wrathress!” Estelle shouted.
“First Lady, Good morning.” Jude gave her a slight bow.
“Hey, Jude.” She waved.
“And we can’t wait for tommorow’s party, and the hot blood that’s gonna actually flow like water.” Zaine snapped his fingers fast.
“Why is everyone talking to her and not me?” Tobias smirked, and they all began laughing.
“Your Odds are mine now, Tobias. Don’t get jealous.” Seraphina teased.
“Good morning, First Lady.” Yalda entered with a little smile. “And I guess you slept fine, First Man.”
“See?” Tobias pointed with a lighter smirk. “The only person who actually cares to talk to me.”
Yalda grinned.
“You have a visitor, sir.”
“A visitor?” Tobias frowned.
“Uncle Will.” Yalda said.
