Chapter 421

We didn't end up cycling the conversation back around to Wanda as we polished off the last bites of dinner, though I had a feeling that was more by conscious decision of both Becca and I after seeing Wanda hesitate earlier.

Instead, we were just together, flirting lightly but talking more in a friendly hangout way than diving into deep or emotional conversations. The three of us already had a rapport, we already got along in pairs and as a trio, but finding our rhythms, our little idiosyncrasies and the things that made us tick in a conversation, would take more time.

Time I was very happy to spend with both of them.

The interruption of one of the bartenders coming over with an oversized double shot piled with whipped cream, an Oreo, and a maraschino cherry to set in front of me was our last delay - apparently the girls had conspired to tell the bartenders that it was my birthday and I'd flown in to celebrate. Thankfully we were at a bar, not a restaurant, or I would have been getting the whole clapping-waitresses singing some birthday song routine. As it was, we still got stared at and there was laughter at the ridiculous drink, but I took it in stride as the girls snickered and grinned. I twisted the Oreo apart and got some whipped cream on either half before offering it to them, and while they munched the cookie for dessert, I downed the cherry and then the shot.

"How is it?" Becca laughed softly at my reaction.

"Citrusy and creamy," I said, wincing at the amount of sugar I'd probably just ingested. "It tasted like the syrup they would make popsicles out of."

"That's because it was a Creamsicle shot," Wanda snorted, giggling into her hand.

"Then what was with the Oreo?" I asked.

"I asked them to make it over the top," Becca smirked playfully.

They absolutely refused to let me pay, even though I'd had the most expensive meal and two drinks to their one each. They wouldn't even let me chip in, and conspired so far as to have Wanda sit on my lap while Becca went to pay the bill.

"You flew here for me," Wanda said sternly, one hand warm on my neck as she looked into my eyes. "That's a lot more than one meal, Tiger." I tried to reply, but she held up a finger from her other hand to my lips, her serious expression breaking into a little half-smile at the silliness of the move. "No arguing. Or I'll break out the big guns."

"The big guns?" I asked, my lips still pressed to her finger.

She wiggled her hips, which in turn wiggled her perfect, firm ass in my lap. Then she flexed her glutes. Wanda knew exactly what she was doing to me with those moves, and her grin grew a little more as she felt my entirely natural reaction to that sort of inspirational teasing.

"OK, I take your point," I chuckled, then turned my head sideways and kissed her finger.

Her grin turned wicked as she shifted a little more on my lap so she could wrap her arms around my neck in a hug, pressing her chest to mine and her lips to my ear. "I don't think it'll be tonight, but I'll be taking your point sometime this weekend. God, I've been dreaming of you, Tiger."

I groaned, hugging her back tightly and resisting the urge to say something dirty back or give her earlobe a little suck. First, because we were in public and I had no doubt that making that move would turn our already borderline inappropriate PDA into a full-on make-out. Second, because Becca was coming back with a satisfied smile. She strode right up beside me and ran her fingers through my hair, looking down at me warmly.

"Time to go," she said.

"I was just getting comfortable," Wanda faux complained, pulling back from me but keeping her hands on my shoulders.

We made our exit from the bar, and that was when I finally noticed someone eyeing us. Or two someones - a pair, either a couple or two people out on a date. The guy was looking at me in consternation as both Becca and Wanda grabbed my hands as we got up from the table. The girl, who was cute, was eyeing me up with a considering look and started blushing when she realised I caught her.

Was there really a need for that Normalise perk from the App?

I sat in the back seat again while Becca drove, which gave me time to cool off a little from the intimate moment with Wanda - maybe it had been the drain from the flight, or a more emotional reaction to seeing them both when we first said hello, but that little tease at the restaurant had stirred me up way more than it should have.

Becca's condo was in a neat little U-shaped building that was a more recent build, which meant that it had the 'open to use' amenities that folks were trying to include to make their places more hip and modern. A public lounge, a few smaller gathering places for hosting dinner parties including a set of professional-grade ovens and a big dining table that could have fit sixteen people around it easily, a small gym, and a rooftop patio with brightly coloured sun umbrellas and chairs.

And all of it, she pointed out, both raised the rent and also had to be locked up because if it wasn't, then the 'unhoused population' would quickly start using it. And if that happened, then the rent would go down again, along with the property value.

"NIMBY," I sighed.

"Mhmm," Becca nodded as we headed for her actual condo after the super quick peek-in tour of the building.

"NIM-what?" Wanda asked.

"Not In My Backyard," Becca said. "It goes along with gentrification. People want to be all supportive of causes like homelessness, addiction or mental health, but then they fight against putting homeless shelters, rehabs or mental health group homes in their neighbourhoods because-"

"Just not in my backyard," Wanda said, understanding.

"Property value is a big reason for it," I said as we reached Becca's door and she started unlocking it. "There's an argument to be made for safety too, obviously, but that would require better investment in services. And usually it boils down to property value."

"Way to bring down the mood," Wanda smirked at me.

"Sorry," I chuckled.

"Maybe once we're all in Vegas, we should do a campaign to get Robbie elected to City Council or something," Becca grinned, pushing open her front door. "Think about it - eight hot chicks running his campaign, going door to door talking about his platform? How could people not come out to vote?"

"OK, first off, I don't have the time for that," I chuckled. "And second-"

I never did get back to the second reason that didn't sound like a good idea to me, because everything else went out the window of my mind. Becca's condo was immaculate, for one thing, which made me a little worried about her needing to live with eight other people - if this level of tidiness was her preferred way to live, how did we get everyone to come up to that level instead of getting her to come down? More distracting, however, was the absolute beast of cuteness that was Ralph the Golden Retriever.

Wanda looked good in photos. She knew how to pose, make the most of her assets, dress to impress, and work with lighting and filters without going full AI-face filter and losing her individuality. I would argue that in-person she looked even better, because it was the real her, but I knew plenty of people wouldn't have that same view when meeting a model they'd only ever seen curated pictures of, whereas I had a model for a fiancee who I saw all the time outside of that context. Real prettiness, the kind that made me think 'wow,' was way better than a curated, carefully considered and touched up photo that could make my dick twitch slightly.

Ralph looked great in photos, but no one would ever argue against him being even better in person. The dog was fucking mythical - at first he was all-eyes for Wanda in an utterly adorable way, his entire body wagging along with his tail at seeing her. And I swear that majestic fucker grinned as she knelt down, talking to him and saying hello as she scratched his ears with both hands.

Then, sure that his girl was back home and safe, he turned to Becca with that grin as if he fully recognised her, and she was already kicking off her shoes and reaching over to give him a heavy scratch just over his wagging tail.

And then he looked at me, and I swear that grin turned into a bit of a smirk.

Dogs can't smirk, I know that. But I swear he did. It was like he was saying, 'I don't know who you are, but I know you ain't getting this.'

"Robbie," Wanda said, standing up from her crouch and pulling Ralph's head into the outside of her thigh in a rough petting of the side of his ear. "This is Ralph. Please, every god in existence, don't break my heart and have him not like you or you not like him."

"Well, he's a damn looker," I said with a smile, kicking off my shoes like Becca had and then going into a crouch as I tried to look non-intimidating to the dog. "Is he generally OK with men?"

"He didn't like Brodi much this past week, but he was fine with him before," Wanda said, still petting Ralph. "I think he could tell I wasn't good pretty much as soon as I picked him up from my parents' place up in Oso, and he wouldn't leave my side for a while - especially when Brodi finally showed back up."

"He's a little mind reader then," I said, smiling at the good-looking dog and then slowly reaching out to him. "You wanna come say hi, buddy?"

He looked at me, at my hand, and then up at Wanda.

"Oh, Ralphy," Wanda chuckled. "Go say hi."

Ralph cautiously stepped towards me and sniffed my hand, then nuzzled it a little and sniffed harder. Maybe it was the lingering smell of my burger, maybe it was just me, but he seemed to find no problems with what he was smelling, and he bypassed my hand completely and pressed his cold nose right into my shoulder as he started wagging his tail hard. I gave him a double-handed hefty rub up and down his back.

"Fucking A," Wanda sighed in relief.

"I told you it would be fine," Becca grinned.

"To be fair, there might be one more point of contention," I said. "If he sees us snuggled up or kissing."

"We'll handle that in a bit," Wanda shook her head. "Let me revel in this little win."

We took another minute focusing on Ralph as I gave him a thorough rubdown petting, and then we were heading deeper than the welcome mat into Becca's place. It was a fairly basic, one-floor condo setup with a kitchen and main entertaining area in a big open-floor plan, three bedrooms, a more public washroom and an ensuite off of the 'master bedroom.' She had one of the bedrooms done up as her work and streaming room, and Wanda got her to show off a few programmed tricks with the dozens of LED light strips she had tucked away around the furniture and nerdy decor in the room. She could make the entire room glow specific colours, look like it was a rotating disco, or switch to Christmas and Halloween themes. The other bedroom was a guest room, though it was already stacked with boxes of Wanda's stuff since they'd started moving her in.

Becca made a point of taking my carry-on from me and bringing it over to a dresser, giving it a proper spot and making it clear that I was staying in the master bedroom with her and wasn't being relegated to the guest room. I hadn't ever considered that I could have been sleeping solo that night, but the gesture was still appreciated.

The tour ended back out in the living room as Becca gave Wanda a spank on the ass as she passed by. "I'm gonna scoop out ice cream," she said. "You go get comfy clothes on so that you can get properly cuddled."

"These aren't not comfy," Wanda argued, gesturing down at her thigh-high socks and shorts.

"Bitch, please," Becca said. "If you think I haven't noticed you tugging on them to make sure they were staying up and looking cute for Robbie, you've got another thing coming."

"They do look very cute, Wanda," I said. "But they lose a touch of oomph with the shoes off and walking around on the carpet." I went to her, keeping one eye on Ralph in case he got funny about it, and gently wrapped my arms around her. "I double pinky promise that you can let go, OK?"

Wanda took a big breath in, then let it out into my chest as she just held my waist and let her weight ease against me a bit more. Her shoulders relaxed and, after a moment, she sniffed hard. Then she pulled back to look up at me and her expression had dropped - ever since I'd seen her in the airport, she'd been fronting happiness. Not that she was faking it, that she hadn't been happy to see me or able to laugh at things, but that she'd been making herself emote those things. I knew the signs because it was the same thing Cassidy would do when she was sliding down into her depressive episodes.

She looked tired. Haggard. It wasn't a change to her makeup; it was a release around her eyes and lips. It was letting go of the tension in her cheeks to keep herself smiling.

"Are you sure?" she asked me quietly.

"I'm sure," I said, holding her by her upper arms. "Super-extra-duper sure."

She swallowed, her eyes already starting to brim with tears, and I pulled her in tightly again, and she hugged me back just as hard before sniffing and pulling back from me completely. "I'll be out in a minute," she promised, turning and heading for her new room. Ralph was up and following her immediately, and she paused to let him in before shutting the door.

I stood watching the door for a moment, hurting for what Wanda was going through, before letting go of my breath. Becca was waiting for me, leaning against the island counter that separated the kitchen from the rest of the space, and reached a hand out, beckoning me closer. I went to her, taking her hand, and she pulled me deeper into the kitchen until she was backed up into a corner of the opposite counters. I lifted her by the waist to get her sitting up in the corner and she smirked a little, not used to that, before reaching up and wrapping her arms around my neck to pull me in for a quick kiss and then to whisper in my ear.

"She needs you, Tiger, but she doesn't need you like she's been hinting, if that makes sense?"

Nodding softly, I hugged her back and whispered back, keeping quiet so that Wanda wouldn't overhear from her room. "I had a feeling, Sugar," I said. "I'm here for her, and to see you, not to get laid."

"I know you know," Becca said, her cheek tightening in a smile against mine as she held me. "I just- I want you to know that if this were just a regular trip, I'd be all over you. So would she. But tonight at least, no matter how much cuddling or kissing or anything... She's not trying to give you blue balls, and neither am I."

"Becca," I said, pulling back a little and pressing my forehead to hers. "You don't need to tell me anything if you don't want to, and I'll wait fifty years if that's what you need, but please - I like and want sex with you, and with her, but I'll never just expect it. Your hearts come first by a mile."

She took a deep breath, letting it out slowly through her nose, and gave me a look like she knew she'd been caught. Then she pulled me in to kiss me again, firm and loving.

We eventually parted, and Becca broke out three bowls, then pulled a tub of Peanut Butter Chunk ice cream from some local dairy out of her freezer and started doling out scoops for each of us. By the time we were heading to the couch, Wanda came out of her room. Her hair was up in a messy bun dangling high on the back of her head, and she was wearing one of my sweaters that had disappeared during the trip and a pair of sweatpants that matched the ones Becca had been wearing this whole time.

She took one look at us and the bowls of ice cream and held up a finger as she breathed deeply. "I need to take Ralphy out to pee first," she said.

"I can do it," Becca offered, starting to get up. I would have offered as well, but I didn't know where their go-to spot would have been.

"No, I should," Wanda sighed.

"Shush," Becca scoffed, scooting around me and grabbing Wanda by the shoulders, directing her towards me. "Robbie is here. Go cuddle up."

Wanda looked like she wanted to argue for a moment before giving up, and while Becca went and grabbed a leash from a cupboard near the front door, Wanda came over to me looking completely deflated.

"Come here, blondie," I murmured softly, reaching forward and tugging her down. I thought she would sit next to me, but she surprised me by climbing up onto the couch on her knees, straddling me, and burying her face right into the crook of my neck with her arms curled up and squeezed between our chests. "Oh, Wanda," I groaned, wrapping her up in another hug. "Oh, baby."

She didn't sob, and I just held her as Becca got Ralph leashed up. The poor guy looked torn, concerned about Wanda but also wanting to go out.

Becca left, and I just held Wanda as our breathing quickly synced up beyond some off-rhythm sniffs.

"This is nice," she eventually murmured.

"Whatever you need," I promised her softly, rubbing her back.

"I- Thank you," she said.

"You're welcome, baby," I whispered.

"Could you- Could you not call me that?" she asked. "Brodi- I don't care if you call anyone else that, and I know you call Cass that, but not me, OK?"

"OK," I agreed. "It might be a little hard not to default to it at first. What do you want me to call you?"

She shrugged a little. I'd been working on different nicknames for my girls since halfway through the trip - that was how Becca had ended up as 'Sugar,' Leia as 'Sunshine' and Ami as 'Cutie.' Wanda had been 'my little toy,' but that was a kinky thing and not- It didn't fit in most situations. Cattie was Catherine, which wasn't technically a nickname, but I was apparently the only person who used her full name. Even Terra was 'Honey' alongside the sillier 'little elf.'

"What about Blondie?" I asked. It was the best I'd come up with before now, and I'd tested it out a couple of times since landing, and she hadn't commented on it.

She shrugged again and sighed heavily. "I don't know," she said.

Yeah, I wasn't going to get a firm answer on anything right now. I'd stick with Blondie for now.

Becca came back and Ralph, once he was unleashed, rushed over to check on her. Wanda dismounted from me, rolling to the side to be on her butt, and she leaned forward and hugged him as Becca followed from the front door. "He's pooped, peed and ready for a night in," she reported, circling around the far side of the coffee table and sitting down on the other side of Wanda. Then she picked up her bowl of ice cream and scooped some out. "If you guys let yours turn to soup, I'll be miffed."

I chuckled, grabbing mine and Wanda's, and Wanda let go of Ralph to accept hers. We all dug in, and Wanda readjusted to sit cross-legged on the couch between us.

"You don't need to tell me anything if you don't want to," I reminded her. "But I'm here if you want to."

Wanda pursed her lips dramatically, her lower lip trembling a little, as she teared up again. "I'm not- I'm not crying because I'm breaking up with Brodi," she said. "I'm not crying over him. I'm not sad about him. I'm mad at him still - God, I'm fucking furious with him for all this bullshit, but I'm not sad. I'm crying because I... I'm sad because of all the time I wasted with him. The opportunities I didn't get. The trips I didn't go on, the friends I didn't get to make, because he... he just wasted so much of me. My time, my efforts, my resources. Does that make sense? Because I- I don't want you to think I regret you, Robbie. I don't. At all."

I scooped my hand on her thigh close to her knee, giving her a squeeze. "It makes sense," I assured her.

She swallowed hard, pursing her lips and twisting them to the side as she looked down into her bowl of ice cream. She took another bite of it, then kind of stirred the partially melted remainders around a bit as Becca and I sat in supportive silence, waiting for her to be ready.

"He wouldn't admit where he'd been since his flight landed," Wanda started without looking up. "Not even to his sister. Not that it really matters, but that was the big thing that really made it clear that this wasn't just about our relationship. He knew we were in a fight, that we needed to talk badly, but I hadn't told him I had already decided that I was divorcing him. He should have been rushing home. Instead, he disappeared. And he didn't have any shame about it. Like, who does that?"

It came out in bits and pieces - this wasn't the time for me to point out that Wanda might have been able to more efficiently tell the story by starting at the beginning, no matter how much I was left guessing at context as she talked. This was about letting her get all of it off her chest.

And there was a lot she had to unload.

We shifted around as the evening wore on. Snuggling and cuddling in different positions on the couch, and different pairs or as a trio. At one point, Wanda lay on the floor and Ralph snuggled up to her while Becca and I sat on the couch and kept listening. At another point, Wanda sobbed into Becca's chest as she cuddled up against her, while I gave them some space from the other couch.

It was rough. Wanda was going through all the phases of grief at the same time because of how awkward and weird everything with Brodi was. In some ways, it was like he'd died, because the man she was married to didn't match up with the one she'd thought she'd said Yes to on their wedding day. The problem was that he was also right there. Alive. Real. Proving over and over that he wasn't that man. Hurting her, leaving huge gaps of understanding where Wanda had felt sure of things two weeks prior.

The strangest emotion of them all for me to handle, more than the anger, the grief or the loss, was the need for intimacy.

We kissed. Hell, at one point it was a full make-out as she lay on top of me on the couch. And she kissed Becca.

There was even a three-way kiss that was somehow non-sexual.

It was almost 2 AM by the time Wanda was winding down, and I felt like we'd quite possibly drained the pond - we'd talked about huge stuff, we'd talked about red flags she should have picked up way back when they were dating, we talking about the little stuff that built up over time, and the petty stuff they both did to each other. The fact that she was willing to acknowledge her own petty moments was at least helpful for my own sanity and urge to play devil's advocate.

The girls had practically insisted that I take a couple of minutes in the middle of things to wish the other girls goodnight, and I'd taken a quick, giggly call from Cassidy and Terra after they'd Ubered back from the bar and were home safe. I'd also taken a moment to message Dayana, just a quick 'How are you?' and she'd sent me back a thumbs up.

What that meant, at 2 AM, was that I didn't have anyone waiting on anything.

But we couldn't just head to bed - being a pet owner came with extra responsibilities, and I ended up outside on the sidewalk, Wanda holding onto my arm with one hand as we walked Ralph for his final pee of the night.

"Sorry," Wanda eventually sighed.

"For what?" I asked her gently as we watched the golden retriever sniffing around. "He's got to find a good spot."

She smiled a little and shook her head. "Not for Ralph, for... that." She gestured back towards Becca's building.

"Wanda," I said, stepping closer to her and pulling her into a hug again. "Never be sorry for that. I feel like I know you so much more now."

She nodded silently and didn't say anything else about it.

My own thoughts betrayed me, though - Did I need to have a night like this? To talk out all the Cassidy stuff?

Could I have a night like this?

The App was affecting me, just like everyone else. I didn't have the same temptations to use it as Cassidy did, but it still pulled on me. I knew that it was.

So, could I release all the stuff bundled up in my chest? The stuff that was probably causing my panic attacks? It would be healthier, probably, but... Who could I even do that with? I didn't doubt that every single one of my girls would say they would want to be there, to support me through it, but... it would change the way they saw me, too.

Cass, Cattie and Terra were the only ones who had really seen me in a bad way. Maybe one or more of them would... feel safe. Except what did that say about how I felt about Wanda or Becca? Or Zenya, Leia and Ami?

Or Dayana. She hadn't seen me at my worst, but she'd seen a milder panic attack.

Once Ralph was finished with his business, we walked back up the street and through to Becca's. She'd already cleaned up, and most of the lights were off in the condo except for the soft golden glow coming out of her bedroom. When she heard us coming in, she came to her bedroom door. "Come on, you two," she said. "It's late and it's been a big, emotional day."

Wanda dipped into her room and then to the washroom to take care of her evening routine, and I grabbed my travel kit out of my bag and did the same in the ensuite next to Becca. That was a new thing for us, and for all that we were both physically and emotionally tired, we managed to flirt a little, bumping hips and grinning at each other as we brushed our teeth. Wanda meandered in a few minutes later as I was sitting on the edge of the bed, chewing on her lower lip, but fresh-faced.

"Come here, babe," Becca said, taking charge and pulling her top off. "Undies only, we're snuggling with our man and falling asleep in his arms, just like that morning on the trip."

No matter how tired I was, seeing Wanda and Becca strip down would never not stir something in me, and I was left groaning softly. Becca was wearing a pair of panties that were small enough to edge on the category of thong, snug and pulled up into her buttcrack a bit. Wanda was just straight up wearing a thong, which meant her perfect ass was jiggling at me for a long moment. Not that I also wasn't mesmerised by their chests - neither of them were in the running for biggest boobs in the orgylationship, but that didn't mean I didn't fucking delight in seeing them. Wanda's were those perfect bouncy handfuls, while Becca's were a little larger but had that distinct 'swell' look instead of a slight hang.

I wanted to grab them, kiss them, suck them. Badly.

"Come on," Becca teased as she looked over at me. "Get nekkid, boyfriend."

"Nekkid-nekkid, or undies naked?" I chuckled.

"Undies," Becca said with a wry smile.

I stripped down and we all climbed into bed, with me in the middle, and I wrapped my arms around them and groaned again as I felt them both shift a little, making sure they were comfortable, and just so happened to be pressing their bare breasts against my sides.

"Love you, Blondie," I murmured into the dark of the room, craning my neck down to kiss Wanda on top of her head.

"Love you, Tiger," she murmured. "Thanks for today. And coming. And- yeah."

"You're welcome, Wanda," I said. Then I turned to Becca, and she met me with a little kiss on the lips. "Love you, Sugar. Thanks for being an amazing friend to Wanda."

"She'd do the same for me," Becca shrugged, doing the exact same thing I would and dismissing the compliment. "Not that she'll ever need to."

"I better not, or I'll be doing it for way too many girls," Wanda snickered softly. "Remember that movie John Tucker Must Die? I think we'd be the deadlier sequel if you turn out to be some awful person, Robbie."

I laughed, and ached.

Because I did have a secret. It just wasn't mine to tell.
