Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 49
Something twisted painfully in Ron’s chest at the sight of that smile.
She’s driving me insane, he thought bitterly, and she doesn’t even realize it.
She’s mine, he told himself, jaw clenching. And I’m going to get back exactly what belongs to me.
Maybe I should start with that stingy little driver first, he thought, a slow, ugly satisfaction curling through him at the idea. I’ll make him regret ever putting his filthy mouth on her lips. I’ll make him regret ever raising his fists against me.
He winced slightly, remembering the beating in vivid, humiliating detail. He’s far too energetic for his own good.
His mind drifted backward, six years now, to the origin of everything — the stupid bet that had started this entire mess in the first place.
I shouldn’t have made that bet, he thought, not for the first time. I should have just approached her honestly. Asked her out properly, without any wager attached to it at all.
He remembered how deeply she’d loved him back then. How inseparable they’d been. How she used to cling to him at every opportunity, desperate for his attention, utterly devoted.
Her lips, he thought, something hungry stirring in his chest. I want all of it back. Every part of her.
He didn’t care about Maeve. He’d seen her collapse at the ceremony earlier and felt nothing beyond mild irritation at the inconvenience. Alive or not, it made no difference to him anymore.
I just want Ivory, he thought. She belongs to me. Not some filthy, poor excuse of a driver.
He reached for his phone, pulling up the anonymous number he’d used before, and typed out three familiar words.
I LOVE YOU.
He hit send.
Este’s Restaurant
The restaurant sat modest but warm, exactly the kind of middle-class establishment that thrived on word of mouth rather than flashy decor — simple wooden tables, cheerful yellow curtains, the smell of good food thick and inviting in the air.
Celeste moved between tables with a wide, unguarded smile, attending to customers with an energy that never seemed to flag.
She loved this. Loved the stress of it, the constant motion, weaving between tables to check on orders, refill drinks, exchange a few warm words with regulars already forming after just one day.
She had no idea how word had spread so quickly, but customers kept arriving in a steady stream, clearly drawn in by the food itself.
I really should hire some help, she thought, glancing at the growing line near the entrance. As much as I love the chaos, I can’t keep up alone forever.
She counted the day’s earnings behind the counter and couldn’t stop the wide grin spreading across her face.
A new customer walked in, and Celeste greeted her warmly, taking her order with practiced ease before delivering the plate carefully to her table.
“Enjoy,” Celeste said with a smile before turning back toward the kitchen.
Minutes later, the woman waved her over to settle the bill.
“Your food is genuinely amazing,” the woman said. “I’m going to pay you extra.”
“Oh, thank you so much,” Celeste said, touched.
The woman pulled out her phone and completed the transfer. Celeste’s own phone buzzed with the alert almost instantly, and she gasped audibly.
A million naira.
“Ma’am?” Celeste blinked at her, stunned.
“Your food is really that good,” the woman said simply. “I’ll be back often, and I’ll bring my colleagues too.”
“Thank you so much!” Celeste called after her as she walked out, still reeling.
She sank into the nearest chair, utterly dramatic about it. “I’m becoming a millionaire and I didn’t even notice it happening,” she muttered, pressing her forehead against the table.
Tears of pure joy slipped free before she could stop them.
Two new customers walked in moments later, and she quickly wiped her face, composed herself, and rose to greet them with the same warm smile as always.
Curtis Residence – Bedroom
Curtis sat at the edge of the bed beside Maeve’s unconscious form, growing increasingly impatient with every passing minute.
She’s still not waking up, he thought irritably. This is taking far too long.
She’d been brought here shortly after her collapse, stripped of her clothing and secured to the bed, his own nakedness fully on display, utterly unbothered by any sense of shame.
He wanted her awake. Now. He hated waiting, hated the stillness of the room, the silence broken only by her slow, even breathing.
A few minutes later, Maeve’s eyes flew open.
The memory of her collapse returned to her in fragments — the hall, the dress, the crushing weight of humiliation right before everything had gone dark.
She blinked, disoriented, scanning her surroundings. The room looked unsettlingly familiar.
Her eyes landed on Curtis, lying beside her in the bed, and widened instantly in shock.
A sharp ache pulsed suddenly through her skull, though she couldn’t place its cause — and then, just as quickly as it had come, it faded again. Her throat felt raw and sore for reasons she couldn’t explain either.
She tried to sit up, to put distance between herself and him.
That was when she felt it — the ropes binding her wrists to the bedframe, holding her firmly in place.
“Let me go!!” Maeve screamed, struggling to get herself off the bed.”lemme go!!!!!, you didn’t show up, you didn’t fulfill your promise, wench!!!!!!”.
“I got replaced at the die minutes, stop screaming!” Curtis snapped, trying not to get angry at her.
“So what?, what now?, what did you need from me again?!” Maeve yelled.
“I need your body, I need you right now, like..right now!” Curtis snapped.
“What, you’re unbelievable, I hate you, I only did that cause of the award plus you fvck good, no strings attached. Did you know what will happen if people find me here!!!!”.
“Which part of my grammer did you not understand, like. I want you right now!” Curtis snapped loudly again. ” I’m addicted to your body!”
“What!!, I don’t love you, since you couldn’t get me the award, let’s end this, I don’t love you, It’s Tyler I love” Maeve blurted out before she could stop herself.
“You want Tyler?, who is Tyler??” Curtis asked a dark smile spreading on his lips.
“None of your business, cûnt !”
‘Tyler. Tyler. Tyler’ Curtis muttered between his breath, an idea pulling in his head. So it’s Tyler that will stop him from continuing having her.
“Alright, after today, lover girl” Curtis winked, pulling down his pants.
He untied her from the bed immediately.
