[Redd Family Hospital]

Peach has been inside with the doctor for thirty minutes now, while Acosta sat in the hallway, waiting for her.

He held her jacket and bag. He lied with constipation check, but he actually brought her here to see a child therapist.

In his sitting position, his eyes strained when he saw Allison coming out of the opposite office with a female doctor.

Allison bade bye to the doctor and nearly turned the other way, but she saw him and came back.

“Heyy, Acosta Simpson!” She cheerfully smiled.

“Hey,” he stood. “Didn’t know you used this hospital too.”

“I had stomach bug, and it was the closest to my last event, so I had to just come for checkup.” She sighed.

“You’re always on events,” he chuckled.

“Of course!” Allison blinked. “Gotta make this money, duh. What are you doing here though? Your wife beat you?” She blinked again.

“Nah, stop.” He waved. “I brought Peach for a checkup too.”

“Great!” She nodded.

“You look happier,” he noticed.

“Phina can finally start her crocheting brand, you have no idea how fuckin glad I am, Acosta.” Allison grinned widely.

“You’re a good friend, Allison.” He nodded frankly.

“Yeah, Phina is my big baby.” She laughed jovially, checking the time. “I have to go! I still have one last client to meet before going home.”

“Sure! Go on!” He quickly replied, waving her as she rushed off.

Peach came out of the office with the doctor immediately, and he handed her her jacket and small fancy bag.

“She took so long I was getting irritated!” She complained.

“Sorry about that, princess,” Acosta stroked her hair.

“Can I talk to you, Acosta?” The doctor asked.

“You have just two minutes, dad, cos I still wanna go get ice cream with you before going home.” Peach rolled eyes at the doctor.

“Sure, go wait for me at the entrance.” Acosta sent her off.

“Acosta,” the doctor started. “Your daughter needs serious attention, like first class package. I asked you for a list of her likes and dislikes before I started the session with her, but when I asked questions about her likes and dislikes, none of the things she said was in the list you gave me.”

“What are the things she said?” Acosta asked, disturbed.

The doctor handed get the note containing the list.

Acosta stared at it surprisingly, looking up at the doctor.

“All of these are her mum’s favorites,” He said in shock.

“She might suffer from a chronic identity crisis if you fail to be attentive to her, Acosta. She badly wants to be her mother.” The doctor nodded professionally.

“Shit,” Acosta muttered.

[Tino’s Hospital]

Mrs. Hallows wasn’t in the ward when Saint arrived, surprisingly.

For an overprotective mother like her, Saint expected her to gum herself to the bed or something, but Tino was alone in bed.

His eyes are open.

“Saint,” Tino sounded. He tried to tilt up, but his hurting shoulder sent him back.

“Fûck!” He went down.

“Stay the fûck down, Valentino.” Saint frowned, sitting beside him. “Where the fûck is your mum?”

“She went to talk with the doctors.” Tino smiled with dry pale lips.

“I just knew she’d be somewhere around,” Saint scoffed. “Meaning I got few minutes here before she’s gonna come scream at me.”

“Are there races?” Tino asked, breaths low.

“No, the fûck?” Saint made faces. “You know Asphalt Kings would never race if anything happens to any of us. They wanted to follow me here, but they backed down when I told them your mama was jezebel.”

“Don’t say it like that,” Tino rolled eyes. “So you got trapped by Rednecks?”

“I don’t wanna talk about it,” Saint shut it down.

“Heard Bexley handed you over to them.” Tino said.

“I just said I didn’t want to talk about it. I have plans for Bexley though.” Saint sighed, giving a knowing side-eye.

“So… you’re still interested in Bexley?” Tino got serious.

“Dude, I’m not interested in Bexley or Dora,I just wanna fuck…why can’t you understand my friggin ways?” Saint rolled eyes.

Tino smiled like that news benefitted him the most.

“You aren’t gonna ask about my brother? He captured you, and I had to beg like a goat before he could let you go.” Saint got serious.

“They said my father is some powerful man who offended your brother, is all I know.” Tino talked, unsure.

“Bruh, your dad is dead. Your mum always said it.” Saint’s shoulders rose.

“I don’t wanna talk about it…” Tino smiled, looking too happy about Saint’s presence. “Just glad that you’re finally here.”

“You want anything? I’ll get you a girl for fûck. You know fuckin heals people too.” Saint suggested.

Tino laughed it off.

By the door, Valhalla Leader stood with the two Serpents behind him. They both wore hoodies, and their heads are covered with the hoods to conceal their identities.

Hearing Saint and Tino’s conversation, Leader turned around, giving up on entering the ward.

He left with the Serpents.

Almost immediately, Mrs. Hallows appeared. Her eyes caught the back view of Leader by the hallway exit.

“Xero?” She mumbled, unsure.

[Next Day – 5pm – A Motel]

Seraphina literally bounced out of the building in her sneakers and leggings, topped with a body-con armless blouse.

She just finished delivering the last of the twenty orders for the last customer, and though her tiredness is immense, but nothing can weigh down the money in her account now.

Twenty orders.

Just twenty, and she has more than a million from it.

And that’s because she’s just starting. By the time she grows bigger and gets a brand name and building, she’s going to make more.

She’s salivating for that moment already.

She has another batch or orders which she’s gonna start working on from tommorow already.

But firstly, she’s eagar about what her Church Father has to send.

She got in her car and checked her mail, but nothing is there from him which is strange cos he never fails to follow his words.

What’s happening?

She nearly dialled his line, but what he saw online made her halt.

She clicked on the news, and there on her screen, sat a new press-con where Marley and Genevieve are apologizing to the public.

Seraphina didn’t watch. She threw her phone to the second seat angrily, hissing.

“The public can’t see through their fakery? So dumb.” She hissed again, driving out of the motel.

[Savior’s Alive Church]

General prayers starts by 6pm, and now it’s thirty minutes before then.

Church members are already arriving, and workers could be seen trooping out of their buildings, heading for the Church.

Nun Estelle was literally crawling, and when Nun Ruth went past her, she froze for a minute.

Ruth looked at her, smirking. “Say a word of it, and I’ll drink your blood for the next communion.”

Estelle turned another way and left fast.

Ruth entered the Church.

Jude appeared at the entrance, but out of nowhere, Nun Grace blocked him.

He stopped.

“What’s going on around here?” She asked suspiciously.

“What do you mean?” Jude asked innocently.

“I feel like I’m behind. Ruth was usually the one who hated Father Tobias, but now she’s always one of the first to get to his programs. Estelle was enthusiastic about him, but now she’s barely around, and you? The most prayerful Brother. The other Brothers said it’s been long you stepped the prayer hall. What’s going on?” Grace chatted.

Jude didn’t plan to reply, and luckily for him, Tobias arrived.

They departed, and Grace quickly entered the church while Jude entered right beside Tobias.

But that was the last moment of peace for the evening.

The moment they entered the Church, gunshots punctured through the evening like rain thrums.

It came from most of the church members (Valhalla Serpents in disguise) guns of different brands, different weights.

Some stood on the Church chairs, some on the desks, some by the walls and from the numerous doors.

But they didn’t enjoy the madness alone.

Odds are present, too, also disguised as church members.

They lifted their golden Glock guns out of their hidden hostlers, returning the gunshots.

It became a battle of bullets.

Yalda yanked away her scarf and rolled down from her aisle. She lay on the floor, back resting her nape on the leg of a chair as she returned the shots with two guns at a time.

Migos is at the back—by the door of the confession room.

He leaned on the frame, actively returning as much as the Valhalla Serpents gave.

Even more than it.

Some Church members got hit, but the rest of them were wise enough to go down flat to avoid stray bullets.

The ones who got hit cried out painfully, bleeding in the middle of their rows.

Jude nearly pulled his gun to join the shootout, but Tobias stopped him.

“Father!” Jude panted.

“Do not move, Jude.” Tobias stood on his words. “I need them to think they got me by surprise.” He muttered.

Then, intentionally, he stepped forward, getting in front of the gun of one of the Serpents.

The bullet came straight for him—on the left arm.

“Father!” Jude shouted.

Nun Ruth stood from where she lay, eyes wide.

“Toby!”

Yalda and Migos turned, too.”

“Wrath!”

[Dean’s Estate]

Seraphina’s worry grew by the seconds. Her mind kept telling her something went wrong.

If things were right, then he’d have sent the email as promised.

She checked her mail close to thirty times already. Nothing to look at.

Now, she’s sitting in bed, staring at her phone screen as if her stare would form the mail.

She dialled his line, but didn’t pick his call, too.

Five times.

He didn’t pick.

Her phone buzzed to life in her palm, and she jerked, raising it, thinking it’s him calling back.

But it’s Allison instead.

“Hey, girl.” She picked.

“Girl, did you see the news!” Allison said urgently.

“News?” Seraphina blinked.

“The Savior’s Church you got married at, it got attacked by gunmen at large! It’s all-over the news just two minutes ago!” Allison rushed.

“What!” Seraphina’s mind flew.

“Yeah, I heard so many members got really, really injured, including the Priest—Dean’s brother!”

“Wait…what!” Seraphina’s eyes popped. “How? How did…why…”

“You’re stammering. Calm down!” Allison cautioned.

Seraphina ended the call and slipped her feet back into her sneakers, rushing out of the room.

In ten minutes, she should arrive at the church. She’s gonna drive really fast and see what’s going on there. She needs to see for herself.

How could he get hurt?

Isn’t he powerful?

She was throwing different thoughts around in her mind as she rushed down the stairs.

But getting downstairs, Dean entered the house, and shut the door.

He locked it and inserted the all-purpose keycard in his pocket.

“I need to go out, Dean.” She breathed impatiently, staring at the door.

“My trackers are still trying to trace your fucker, and while that’s going on, I’ll try to be as gentle as I can with you….” Dean nodded.

“I need to go out, Dean.” She repeated, impatience widening.

“I sent my guards on a night off, so it’s just me and you. And you’re going to enter the kitchen, make a delicious dinner for the two of us, and—”

“Dean, give me the keycard!” She spread her palm forward.

Dean took the palm, pulled her to himself with it.

He aimed to hold her by her hips, but she aimed for the flower vase sitting on top of the door mantle.

She didn’t think.

She swung the vase to the side of his head, crashing it hard.

With a loud destructive sound, the vase shattered.

“Damnit!!!” Dean groaned, loud and pained and charged.

Seraphina didn’t wait.

She snatch the keycard from his weak hand and went for the door, but when she placed the keycard on the door and saw her own hands, she was shocked. There’s blood.

Blood on her pinky and thumb.

She gasped, turning back to see Dean going down with blood gushing out of his head, staining his face and neck and the clothes.

Her eyes cleared.

“Oh Gawd…” She gasped.

Dean collapsed on the floor, bleeding and groaning.

Seraphina stood still by the door.

But the TV is on, and her eyes caught the news again exactly how Allison said it was happening.

Cops covered the church compound, and so many ambulances.

She saw Tobias!

Him, shot on the arm, walking out of the Church with Jude and Ruth by each of his sides, and doctors…

Seraphina gasped, again.

She looked at Dean on the floor, shaking her head.

“God be with you, Dean.” She muttered, opening the door.

She ran out.
