“What!?”
Dean’s response was louder than Tobias’s words, and Tobias just knew it hit the exact spot he targeted.
Like a cruel m+therf+ker, he relaxed on his seat again, man-spreading with his bottom lip still between his teeth.
His intentional silence grated Dean’s nerves so much at the other end.
He couldn’t hold back his yell.
“What did you just f+king say? And who the hell are you!?”
“Ask your wife,” Tobias smiled darkly, enjoying this play as his bottom lip slipped away from between his teeth. “She’ll answer better.”
“M+therf+ker, I’ll find you!” Dean’s voice went higher, hitting the phone speaker with thudding extremity. “I’ll find you, and make you—”
His words died on that part cos Tobias hung up. He tapped red with so much patience before sliding the phone back into his pocket.
“You sure know how to stir trouble, Father.” Jude grinned from the front.
“I don’t stir it, I’m it.” Tobias smiled again, darker than the first as the car rocketed into the Church street.
“I knew you were talking about Seraphina when you were saying you’d send a cancer to Dean, but I’m thinking…” Jude talked with concern.
“Thinking what?” Tobias queried, staring out of the window.
“Will she be able to do it? She’s…..”
“Dull? Not brainy?” Tobias cut in, still staring out the window emptily.
“I don’t mean to talk down on her, but i heard lots of Redd family story, and….” Jude drawled, uncertain about whether he should continue.
“And what, Jude?” Tobias gave him a bitter glance. “I hate getting hung, fuckin’ get it over with.”
“And I heard she was mistreated by her family cos always had problems with comprehension, and every teacher rejected her cos she was hard to tutor. Also, she kept repeating classes. That’s why her parents made her drop out of college cos they couldn’t continue wasting money.”
Jude narrated it quietly but aptly, but he received silence as an answer from Tobias which unnerved him.
“Sorry if I crossed the line, but it’s what I… heard.” He quickly added.
“I was a dullard too,” Tobias finally talked.
Jude blinked. “You?”
“Yes, me.” Tobias began staring out of the window again. “I was the glass child who was never seen. Dean was the brilliant one who got all attention, and Saint was always sick as a child. They both got all the attention from our damn parents. But I picked myself up alone, I received tutors from Uncle Will, and I rose.”
“This is new….” Jude smiled. “The difference between you and Seraphina is that you had Uncle Will to tutor you, but she had no one. I bet if she met Allison earlier, she’d have helped. I heard she met Allison in college before she dropped put.”
Tobias replied with silence, again.
“Do you…hate your parents?” Jude suddenly asked. “I mean… Dean and Saint received attention than you.”
“Enough of the questions, J.” Tobias went sour. “The more you know, the more your lifespan shortens. I’m not giving you these information cos I’m loose-lipped, it’s a trap, so I know where to grip you first when you start snitching on me. Turn on me, and I’ll drown you in a brimming tunnel of hydrochloric acid.”
Jude’s fingers tightened around the wheel as he stopped the car abruptly in front of the Church gate, nearly hitting the fence.
He gulped obviously, throat bobbing as he looked back at Tobias at the backseat. “My life is yours, Father. You paid my debt, so if the need arrives any day, I’d die for you.”
“You didn’t have to stop the car to say that.” Tobias scolded, cold.
Jude smiled a bit before retaking the wheels, driving into the compound.

[Dean Estate]
The corny call took Dean to Seraphina’s room five minutes ago, but she was in the shower when he arrived. He waited.
He stood beside her vanity with her phone sandwiched in the middle of his palm.
After he dropped the flower bouquet beside her phone, he saw her phone screen lit up with the call from the unsaved line. He got so curious he had to pick up and feed his curiosity.
But his curiosity led him to this shit, hearing another man say all of that about Seraphina’s body?
Currently, he has a team of trackers working on the number. He’s going to storm the house of whoever it is to have him beaten to stupor, arrested and locked behind bars.
He shouldn’t be feeling this way. Hearing what another man did to her should make him hiss.
He has Kelly anyways, and he loves Kelly. Kelly choose him over Tobias.
Fûck, she made him feel special on the night of that faculty dinner when she came to him and told him she loved him more than Tobias.
He loves her, too. Kelly was the only female he has ever been in a relationship with, and he shouldn’t even have touched Seraphina’s phone in the first place, talk more of buying her flowers to congratulate her.
Also, the person who ordered him to marry her told him Seraphina was off-limits, so he shouldn’t even be here, wanting to confront her.
But he can’t go against his head.
His head wants this right now, and he’s gonna follow what he wants.
He heard the bathroom door opening in the other room, and a minute later, Seraphina came in, body wrapped delicately under her towel.
A head towel is wrapped on her head too. Seems she washed her hair.
And…
Dean lost his mind.
No—he lost his whole head.
Has she always been this… attractively s+xy?
She’s not even in any feminine stuff. No necklace or earrings. No false lashes or nails. No single female face care on her vanity, but she’s still spotless and calmly pretty?
Why was he just noticing?
Why was this just reaching his head?
The realization expanded the rage that was already building.
The thought of another man between those fresh legs? Eating her?
He woke up and clenched his jaws.
Seraphina ignored his presence. She sat on her vanity chair and took her head towel down.
She grabbed the blow-dryer, raised her hands and began drying her hair.
Raising her hands like that? Her fleshy cle@vage popped out.
Dean’s hand tightened around the phone he’s holding.
“I have no idea what you’re doing in my room, Dean. But when you’re done staring at me, leave.” She said suddenly, tilting her head so she could blowdry another part.
Dean finally moved, slightly unwrapping his palm from the phone. He walked to her vanity and dropped the phone on the table.
Seraphina lowered the blow-dryer, gave the phone a stare before looking up at him questioningly.
“What were you doing with my damn phone?”
“You’ve been sleeping around?” Dean rested his palms on the table, lowering his demanding face to hers.
Seraphina grabbed her phone, tossed it to the other side of the table and took the blow-dryer to continue with her hair, but Dean wouldn’t take the ignoring. He snatched the dryer from her and threw it at the wall.
“Dean!” Seraphina shot up.
“Who the hell called and was saying shit about how he couldn’t get the taste of you out of his tongue!” Dean yelled, jealousy magnifying.
“What!” Seraphina’s eyes widened a notch with shock and surprise.
“You heard me!” Dean took her upper arm. “Tell me! Who the fûck has been fucking you!”
“Let me go!” Seraphina got her confidence back. “What business would you have with whoever I f+k? How is it your damn issue? Last time I checked, you’re drunk in love with Kelly so leave me al—”
“Who has been f+king you!!!” Dean yelled, demandingly poisonous.
“I will f+k whoever I want, and you will have no say in my s+×ual life!” Seraphina pushed him off.
But it was only for a second, cos he came back and took the edge of her towel, trying to pull it off her body.
“Dean!” Her eyes widened.
“Show me! Lie down and show me how wide you are down there! How many men are you f+kin, huh? How many of them touched your body!”
“You’re crazy!” Seraphina spat, biting his arm deep, it drew blood.
“Seraphina!” He groaned out, pushing her head off.
Her phone fell from him.
“Crazy!” She shouted. “Leave me alone!” She dragged the towel with him, pulling against her breàsts and laps and ass behind her.
As Dean pulled, she pulled back. She’d rather crawl to hell than have Dean take even a glance at her body.
Not even a chance.
The pull from both sides turned so dangerous she could feel her feet slipping on the floor.
But Dean still wouldn’t let go.
Her subsequent drag made her slip on the floor, finally.
She hit the floor with a groan, bruising her forearm—the same spot Dean where tore her with the knife on the night of their wedding.
The spot reddened on top of the knife scar, and she shifted back on her butt, gripping it tight.
Dean stopped moving, breathing hard, heavy, looking at her.
Guilt washed over.
“You should have showed me when I asked you for it, Seraphina. You’re my wife.” He muttered.
“Only on paper, Dean.” She shook her head. “Did you forget? You married me for business! This ring?” She raised the ring in her finger. “Is for business sake. You never loved me!”
“But you do!” He snarled.
“That was before!” She stood. “I was madly in love with you when I didn’t know the kind of animal you were. Now? If you touch me, I’ll file a case!”
Dean let out a quick chuckle.
“You know….you remind me of my m+therf+kin’ twin brother.” He sighed. “You both aren’t brilliant, but somehow your arrogance is tall. Tobias is a fuckin bastard, and you—”
“He’s not a bastard,” Seraphina muttered before she could stop herself from talking.
Dean’s face twisted.
“And why the hell would you side with my brother?”
Seraphina looked up. “Cos he’s a Priest, he deserves respect. Also, he’s more handsome than can ever be.”
“What did you just…” Dean’s eyes darkened, hand reaching for her.
Hurriedly, she grabbed her gown from the bed picked her phone from the floor, and dashed out of the room before his hand could reach her.
“Seraphina!!” Dean yelled, voice following her.
His voice echo came back to slap him hard in the face. He heard the sound of the front door closing.
She definitely left the house.
Dean let out a heavy grunt, kicking her vanity table to a side. Her body cream fell and spilled.
He angrily pulled her bedcover away and threw them to the floor.
Her bra fell from the bedcover. She must have dropped it there when she was going to shower.
Seeing the size of the bra cups, he cussed inwardly.
Has she always been this full?
How is he just f+kin noticing these things? Were his eyes in his pockets?
He can’t even think straight right now. He retrieved his phone, dialling the number of the trackers.
“Nothing yet, sir. The number is still not trackable.”
“How the fûck would a USA number be untraceable in USA? Are y’all dumb? I want it fuckin’ traced like yesterday! Urgently!” Dean shouted.
He ended the call, nearly coughing up blood. He punched the wall.
His phone buzzed, and he quickly flipped the screen, thinking it’s the trackers, but instead, it’s his client.
“Dean?” The voice made him calm down a bit.
“It’s you?” Dean sighed.
“Are you ok?” The client noticed the stress in his voice.
“Honestly? She’s stressing the f+k out of my mind.”
“Who?” The client asked.
“Who else would it be?” Dean gnarled. “Of course it’s the lady you told me to f+king marry!”
“We agreed that you wouldn’t be bothered by her. Do whatever you please with her, don’t just touch her s+×ually cos she belongs to my son!” The client snapped.
Dean chuckled, sitting at the edge of the bed. He took Seraphina’s bra that’s on the floor and began running his fingers on the hooks.
“Belongs to your son? She’s getting f+ked by someone. I found out today, just now.”
“What are you saying?” The client resounded, shocked.
“I’ll send you the number. Try to track it from your end too.” Dean hung up and typed the number.
He made sure to save it in his head from Seraphina’s phone.
He sent it to his client, and instantly, Kelly’s call came in.
“Shit,” he cussed, remembering he was supposed to go see her.
He totally forgot.
He picked the call nevertheless, and Kelly’s cries greeted his ears.
Loud tears of grievance.
“Kell,” He stood, frowning.
“Dad….dad is dead.” Kelly hiccuped.
“What!” Dean dropped the bra.
“Tobias killed my….dad….he drowned him in the house pool!” Kelly cried louder, bitterly.
Dean rushed out of the house.
He didn’t even hang up before jumping in his car, driving out.
Immediately he did, Seraphina came back inside.
She never left the estate, she just stayed inside one of the cars
She took a breath of relief when she came back in, parading the living room as she dialled the number that called when Dean was there.
It’s unsaved, but she’s sure as hell it’s the Priest. He’s got different lines.
A ring was all it did before the line connected. She stopped parading.
“Father?” She sounded.
“You sound wet.” Tobias’s corrupt voice returned to her ears.
“It’s really you,” she sighed, sitting her arse on a chair.
“Who else would tell your husband about what my tongue did to you on my altar?” He hummed, steady.
“I was supposed to stay good throughout today as I have just finished packing my first orders, but you had to make him run feral with your words, and he—”
“He what?” He cut in.
“Nothing.” She stood.
“He what?” He repeated.
“I said nothing.” She repeated, too.
And he hung up straight.
She had to start dialling his line again, but he didn’t pick.
Not once.
Not twice.
“Shit, he’s got a serious attitude.” Seraphina muttered.
He finally picked at the third ring.
“He what?” He resumed, still steady.
“He nearly took my towel from my skin and…made me run out of the room in only my towel. Now I’m wearing a gown in the living room with nothing under. Oh, he made me fall too, and I got a little bruise, but he didn’t see me … N+ked.” She explained in summary.
Silence followed, leaving her wondering why he went silent after her explanation.
She sat back on the couch.
“Father?” She called, biting her lower lip gently, softly.
“I’ll send you a business email tommorow. Take your time to study it after you make your first deliveries. In a week’s time, you’ll give me a presentation, and if I’m satisfied, I’ll let go of the land for you completely. It won’t just be in your name, but yours….truly.” He explained.
“What!” She spranged up, smiling, holding her chest with her second hand. “Me? Like….the billion dollars land? Me? Are you serious?”
“And of course I’ll finally f+k you,” he added. “F+k your brains out on that altar and make your p+sy squeeze my c+k into your tight walls. I want to bury myself so deep you’ll feel me in your chest.”
Seraphina smiled, dipping her hand in her gown in the front. She caressed herself on the right n+ple, rubbing it as she listened to his words.
It’s not just the words alone, but his voice. He has a really enticing voice, she’d admit that part.
“And listen, Anathema. The moment I start fuckin you, there’s no stop to my desire. I’m an addict, and you dare not say no. Anywhere, anytime, anyway. I’ll always want to f+k you.”
She squeezed that n+ple harder, dry-humping the couch she’s sitting on. She rubbed herself on the couch fabric, resting her head on the headrest slowly.
“Are you wet?” He asked, low.
“So f+kin much. I can feel it soaking through my dress….hmmm.” she moaned, closing her eyes.
“As you should be,” he grunted.
She smiled again, switching to her left n+ple.
“Dean said you weren’t brilliant in school.” She suddenly said.
“Was dull in school as a kid,” he replied surprisingly, dryly.
Seraphina stopped touching herself and got serious.
“I became an average student after receiving an Uncle’s tutoring.” He continued, still dry.
“Were you bullied by Dean like I was by my sisters? Is that why you created a cult and—”
“I was dull academically, not weak, Seraphina.” He responded, curt.
“And your parents? Were they supportive?” She asked.
But she got no reply for that.
She sensed it’s a really sensitive topic, so she got off it.
“Sorry, was just curious…” She muttered.
“Expect the email tommorow, and I don’t care if you’ll have to pull all nighters for a week. Learn it.” He said, crisp and cold.
“I hear you, and goodb—”
She couldn’t finish saying that before he hung up on her.
She lowered her phone slowly.
“Must he always be mysterious and weird?” She muttered, dropping the phone with a slow toss.
Their St. family is popular, but too dark to even look into.
The only family in the world who deals with luxury graveyards.
She heard their late parents were so madly in love that they choose the same path—the art of dead bodies, and they specifically learnt about dead bodies for years before they started the business. They even got married in a graveyard.
So crazy.
But this is the first time she heard Tobias St. Graves was academically dull as a kid.
He was like that, but he’s as rich as he is today? She doesn’t even care about the source of that wealth, but she’s making him her model from now on.
If he did, she can do it too.
Maybe she’s gonna start by learning what he’s gonna send tommorow and then getting full ownership of the land for her crocheting company.
The thought made her smile again.
But she’s still curious.
Still so f+kin curious about him.
About Tobias St. Graves—Her Father.
Another smile crept to her lips at the thought of that last line.
