REX QUARTER

Sephy stood by the door way watching Ginger as she fed Raphael some porridge.

“You are treating me like a child” Raphael protested when she gave him another spoonful.

“And that’s because you need all the care in the world. You’ve been in a coma for a week, do you know how worried I was? ” Ginger asked looking downcast and that got Raphael putting a hand on her shoulder.

“I am fine now” he said.

“I know but still you need your strength, so open up” she said which got him smiling.

“What about Sephy?” On hearing Raphael question, Sephy bubbled with hope.

If he is angry at her, he wouldn’t even ask about her, she thought as she stayed hidden by the door way.

“Why ask about her when she’s the reason you are here? Forget about Sephy and try to get some rest” Ginger told him.

“You are right, she’s the reason for my being here ” He said and hearing him say that made Sephy sad.

She turned to leave but ended up hitting a flower vase which earned their attention.

“Who is there?” Ginger asked and immediately Sephy took to her heels.

It wasn’t until she was out of Rex quarter that she stopped.

Seeing Ginger with Raphael made her feel sad.

She was still thinking about it when she heard Ginger say behind her.

“Running off like a thief?”

“I did not run off” Sephy replied hotly.

“Really? Well it’s none of my business with what you do but it’s my business when it comes to Raphael” Ginger said as she fold her arms across her chest.

“Raphael isn’t yours?” Sephy said fiercely.

“He isn’t but he is not yours either and don’t think he is going to go back to you after what you did”

“Raphael is the only one who has the right to get angry at me, you don’t have that right put that in mind whenever you want to talk to me ” Sephy said as she walk off.

“Bitch!” Ginger murmured before going back to Raphael.

DEN’S CLINIC

Violet open her eyes only to find herself in an unfamiliar room.

Everything that happened a while ago came back to her and she stiffled back a cry when she remembered the scene she saw earlier.

“You are awake” Justin said as he came into the room.

“What happen?”

“You fainted and so I brought you here” Justin replied as he help her seat up.

“Do you know why I fainted?” She asked casually.

“Well it’s….the doctor said that you are pregnant” Justin replied and that got her wide awake.

“Pregnant but how?” She asked even as she recalled her time with Rex, they never once used protection and she didn’t even think about it.

“I assume Rex to be the father right?” Justin asked and she nodded.

“I called him and told him about you being here and so he is on his….”

“You did what?”

“I said I called him and….what are you doing?” Justin asked when she got off the bed.

“I want to leave, I don’t want to see Rex” She said pulling away from Justin when he tried to stop her.

“But the doctor said you need to get some bed rest and….”

“I can do that at the maid quarters so please, get me out of here before Rex comes ” she said which got him complying.

As soon as they left the clinic, Rex ran in, going in search of Violet.

Justin took her straight to her room in the maid quarter.

“Thank you, Justin” she said looking pale.

“Why did you insist on not seeing Rex, you should be at the Clinic” He added when he saw her pale face.

“I’d rather be here than at the clinic and I don’t want to see Rex ever again” she said fiercely which got Justin crouching in front of her.

“Did he hurt you? Cause no matter what he is the father of your child” Justin said and that got her bursting in tears.

“Did I say some thing wrong? Am sorry” Justin said trying to calm her down but she kept crying which got him giving her a hug.

“Shhh…it’s gonna be okay” he said patting her back and that was how Rex saw them when he arrive.

Angrily he walk towards them and pull Justin away from Violet, startling the both of them.

“Get your hands off of her” Rex said glaring at Justin who had fallen on his butt due to Rex push.

“Are you okay Justin?” Violet asked as she stood up wanting to help Justin but Rex pulled her back.

“He can take care of himself so let’s go” Rex said pulling her but she stood her ground.

“I don’t want to go with you” She said.

“We’ve got to talk” Rex said taking a deep breath.

“I don’t want to talk to you and you are hurting me, so let go!” She said when he tightened his hold on her hand.

“Let her go” Justin said as he came to them.

“Stay out of this” Rex said.

“But she doesn’t want to talk to you, so let her be” Justin said which got Rex pulling Violet to him.

” He’s standing up against me just to defend you. Is he your lover?” Rex asked Violet but his gaze was glued on Justin.

Angrily Justin pulled Rex by his front shirt roughly.

“I won’t let you talk to Violet that way” Justin said.

“Or what? Do you intend to hit me?”

“I really want to beat some sense into you right now but for Violet sake and for the sake of the child she’s carrying, I will let you go” Justin said which brought a look of surprise on Rex face.

“Child? Did you just say Violet is going to have a child ?” Rex asked.

“Why else would she be at the hospital” Justin said in return.

“Arrrgh!” On hearing the Violet scream both men turned to her and Immediately Rex was at her side.

“What’s wrong Violet?” Rex asked looking worried.

“It hurts …..it hurts so much” Violet said clutching her stomach and immediately Rex carried her into his arms and out of the room while Justin followed.

Once again, Violet open her eyes to find herself in the hospital room again and this time instead of Justin, Rex came to her side.

“Are you okay? Do you want me to get the doctor?” He asked which got her shaking her head in reply.

She tried sitting up and when Rex wanted to help, she pulled away from him.

“What happen to my child?” Violet asked choosing to stare at her hand rather than at him.

“He’s fine, a complete bed rest is what you need since the child is fragile” Rex told her and she shook her head in reply.

“Have told the maids to take your things back to my quarter, you will be more comfortable there and….”

“Who gave you the right to do that?” Violet asked glaring at him.

“The right as the father of the child you are bearing” he replied softly.

“This child isn’t yours” Violet let out in anger.

“If you are saying that to hurt me then it won’t work cause I know that am the father of that baby”

“You are the father like you’ve said but that doesn’t give you the right to order me around. So get my things back to the maid quarters, am not staying with you”

“You have no choice Violet, you’ve got to….”

“I don’t want to go! I don’t want to go back to the room you were having s*x with Miranda” Violet screamed looking pale.

“You saw that?” Rex asked startled by her admission.

“I saw it! I saw the dirty act going on between you two and that’s why am never going back to your quarter” she said hitting the bed angrily.

“There’s a perfect explanation for what you saw, give me a chance to….”

“Don’t touch me! Don’t you ever touch me with that disgusting hand of yours” she said moving away when he tried to touch her.

” Like a fool, I went there to ask for your forgiveness once again and tell you that I feel the same way you do. I made a vow to get your forgiveness and love once again but on getting there I saw ….” She stopped as the tears poured out.

“You once told me that you will get rid of the feelings you have for me even if you have to be with another girl? I thought it was your angry side talking but you really did it, you slept with some one else not giving a damn about me!” She added coldly.

“Take it easy, you will hurt the child and yourself if you keep crying” he said.

“Then leave! Leave and don’t let me see your face cause seeing you makes me feel sick”

“I can’t leave you Violet and we’ve got to talk ”

“I have nothing to say to you and if you won’t leave then I will” she said pulling back the covers to get out of bed but as soon as her leg touch the floor, she staggered and would have fallen if Rex hadn’t held onto her.

“Let go of me! Let me go, Rex” she cried out but he only pulled her into his arms, tightening his hold on her.

“Am going to do some thing crazy if you don’t let me go….let go of me! You disgust me!” She cried out even as she kept hitting his back but he never let her go.

“I know, I feel disgusted with myself for what I did” he muttered and Violet who was crying on his shoulder didn’t hear him.

A while later Rex stood watching Violet sleep.

She had cried until she fell asleep in his arms.

Pulling out his phone, he called his guard.

“Have you taken Violet things to my room?” He said into his phone.

“Take it out of there. Prepare one of the spare room, we won’t be using my room for the time being”

“I will bring her myself, you don’t have to come. Just make sure everything is ready before we get there” he added before ending the call.

Just at that moment the door open and Justin walk in.

“How is she?”

“Getting her rest and you should also get some rest and stop worrying about Violet, I can take care of her myself” Rex said.

“You can take care of her but I don’t think she wants you to” Justin countered.

“Why do you think so?”

“Cause you did some thing which hurt her. Don’t you think the best thing to do right now is stay away from Violet and the unborn child?” Justin asked and this time Rex pulled him by the shirt.

“I don’t know why you are suddenly lurking around Violet but I want you to stay away. Violet is my woman and she will keep being so” he said letting go of Justin.

Moving towards the bed, Rex carried the sleeping Violet in his arms.

He was at the door when he heard Justin say.

“Violet might be your woman as you’ve said but I don’t think Violet thinks the same way and for that I don’t intend to stay away from her”

Choosing to ignore him, Rex left the ward with Violet.

LATER THAT NIGHT

“Gosh! Am so tired” Sephy said as she got to her room and went straight to the bed.

She has been working all day trying to keep her mind busy and away from Raphael.

He wouldn’t want to see her, after all she’s the one at fault for his injury.

She let out a sigh and was shutting her eyes to get some sleep when the door open.

“Where have you been all day Violet, I went to look for….” She stop talking when she saw the person that walk in.

“What are you doing here?” She asked getting off the bed in a rush.

“Sorry am not Violet, I hope I didn’t startle you” Raphael asked as he slowly walk into the room.

“You are meant to get some rest, you shouldn’t be walking about” She said moving towards him.

Taking hold of his arm, she pulled him to seat on her bed.

“How can I when you didn’t come to see me” he replied.

“Were you waiting for me?” She asked and he nodded.

“Why would you wait for me? I caused your accident, if I hadn’t choose to leave then this wouldn’t have happen” she said starring at her hands.

Raphael took hold of her hand and pulled her to seat by his side.

“Have you been blaming yourself during the time have been in a coma?” Raphael asked.

“It is my fault and it’s only right that I feel guilty and blame my…..”

Sephy stop talking when Raphael gave her a sudden kiss.

“You should stop blaming yourself. I did what I did to protect you and if it happens again, I will gladly get shot in your place” he said and that got Sephy crying.

“Am really sorry Raphael, am sorry for trying to leave, am sorry for putting you in danger. You have no idea how scared I got when you fainted in my arms, I kept thinking about you through the whole week, I thought I lost you ” Sephy blurt out which got Raphael smiling.

“Luckily am alive and still in front of you” Raphael said only for Sephy to give him a tight hug.

“I know you will find it hard to believe but I hope you do cause I will only say it once….I love you” she whispered while tightening her arms around him hoping he doesn’t push her away.

When he said nothing, she move back to stare at his face.

“You hate me right?” She asked.

“Hate you! Never. If you didn’t say it, I was going to” he replied starring at her with so much love in his eyes.

“So you are…you….are in love….”

“Am in love with you my crazy Sephy! You have no idea how thrilled I felt hearing you say it” He replied cutting off her stuttering.

“Oh Raphael, I so much love you” she said giving him a hug while he kissed her throat.

“Same here my dearest, I love you too” Raphael muttered feeling like the most luckiest man on earth.
