Irene stood up and went after Garret.

She entered into the car and adjusted her robe.

“Garrett, I told you I’m fine” she said.

“I’ll believe you when we hear the doctor’s report. But for now, just keep quiet” Garrett said.

Irene gro-an ed and rested her head.

Garret ordered the driver to drive them to the hospital.

He nodded and drove off.

As they alighted from the car, Irene was dizzy.

Garret caught her before she could fall.

He gave her a you see what I’m talking about look and went into the hospital with her.

After the doctor took her blood for testing, they were asked to wait outside.

Few minutes later, the doctor called her into the office.

They sat opposite the doctor who was staring at his computer.

“Can you tell me what’s wrong with my wife?” He asked.

The doctor adjusted his glas-ses and stared at Garret.

“My king, the queen is two weeks pregnant” he said.

Irene sh0t her mouth wi-de open and held her flat stomach.

“Pregnant?”

“She is pregnant?” Garret asked again.

“Yes” he replied again.

Garret turned to face Irene and hvgged her.

“I’m so happy. Oh my goodness, that’s so good” he said with a soft voice.

Irene was also happy but doesn’t know how to show it.

They went back to the palace and announced it.

“I’m going to be an uncle soon!!!” Tony said.

“Unbelievable” Leo commented.

Irene shook her head and walked towards the stairs.

“You shouldn’t stress yourself Irene. Call the guards to carry you to your room. You are pregnant” Fredrick said.

“No, I’ll carry her myself” Garret said and walked closer to her.

He carried Irene in his arm and took her to the room.

“I’ll be responsible for my nephew” Tony said.

“You mean, niece?”

“It’s a boy. I’m with my best friend, she wants a boy and I also want it to be a boy” Tony said

“I’m with my brother and he wants a girl” Leo said.

“Whatever” Tony said and left.

For the whole nine months, Irene didn’t do anything in the house. She just stayed in the room and walked round the garden.

Her pregnancy was alre-ady eight months old.

She sneaked out of the room with her hvge stomach and went to the kitchen.

She was careful not to make any sound.

Irene slowly walked down the stairs and entered into the kitchen.

She opened the refrigerator and took a bottle of chilled water.

As she twisted the cap, the light went on.

“My queen, you want to take chilled water” Tony said to her and walked towards her.

Irene returned the bottle and sighed.

“I just want to take a sip” she said.

“No…”

“Ah!” Irene yelled and held her stomach.

Tony stared at her as she gro-an ed in pain.

“What’s wrong?”

“I think my water just… Broke” she said.

Tony sh0t his eyes wi-de open. He quic-kly went to get the car and call Garrett.

Garret quic-kly helped her into the car.

“I don’t know… You guys should prepare the baby’s room and…”

“Just go bro. You’ll do everything”

Irene was gro-an ing in the car. The pain was just too much for her to handle.

Garret entered into the car and ordered the driver.

He started the engine and drove off.

It was almost midnight.

The road was cleared.

“You nee-d to calm down. Breath in, breath out!” Garret said to her.

Irene tried but she couldn’t continue.

Suddenly, a car pu-ll-ed over in front of their own car, ma-king them pu-ll over quic-kly.

“What happened?” He asked the driver.

“Someone just pu-ll-ed over in front of us” he said.

Irene was p@n-ting.

Immediately, the door flung open.

The armed stranger gr@bb£d Irene and threw her out of the car.

Garret yelled.

“No!!!”

He quic-kly alighted from the car and stared at how the stranger pointed a gun at Irene.

Irene just la-id on the cold floor.

She stared at the gun but it wasn’t compared to the pain she was feeling.

The stranger took off her mask and fling her hair to the back.

“Remember me?” She asked.

Irene blinked her hair repeatedly.

“R- rachel?” She called out.

Garret closed his mouth in surprise.

“Rachel?”

“What’s up brother? Just wait in the car, I have some business to take care of” she said.

“No Rachel. She’s pregnant and she nee-d to go to the hospital”

“I don’t care. Boys! Take him away from here!” She yelled.

Some hoodlums c@m£ and gr@bb£d Garret from there.

“Back to you, Irene. Goodbye!”

She said and pu-ll-ed the trigger.

The bullet hit her stomach immediately.

Rachel sm-irked and entered into the car.

Garret saw everything that happened and was dumbstruck.

He couldn’t scream.

“Oh no, Irene” he murmured.

“It’s okay brother” Rachel said.

“Drive us home!” She ordered the driver.

“No, no! I nee-d to get Irene. My baby! Irene!” He yelled but they never allowed him out of the car.

Some people found Irene’s b©dy.

“Do you think she’s breathing?”

“I don’t know. I think we should take her to the hospital. The baby can still be alive” the young lady replied.
