“I told you not to bring me home, Rob.” Emma gro-aned.

“Why not? Were you going to call Stephen to bring you home instead?” He asked before he could stop himself.

Emma stared at him.

“What did you just say?”

“fuc-k . I’m sorry. Forget I said that.” He mumbled.

“Okay, I think you have something to say to me, Rob. You’ve been acting weird around me since we returned from Mr. Sherlock’s house.”

“I don’t know what you are talking about.” He denied, avoiding her gaze.

“Yes, you do. And can you stop avoiding my gaze now? Did I do something wrong?” She asked.

“No.” He answered.

“Rob, you can talk to me. If it is about me giving_”

Robert’s phone which was on the phone holder in the car started ringing, interrupting them.

Emma saw the caller ID. It was saved as GINNY❤.

She frowned upon seeing it, her blood boiling for no reason at all.

Robert grabbed his phone and quickly declined the call, dropping his phone upside down.

“Uhm…” Emma cleared her throat. “I should go inside now.”

He stared at her. “You were going to say something about_”

“Oh, yes. I was going to say something.” She paused. “If it is about me giving my number to Stephen, stop sulking about it because it is none of your business. Who I give my number to is my damn choice just as it is your choice to give your number to any girl and save her name on your phone as whatever you want. I don’t care. And you shouldn’t about mine either.” She snapped, open the car, and got down.

“Emm_”

She cut him off by slamming the car door shut and went inside her compound.

Robert was still in shock at her outburst when his phone started ringing again.

He grabbed it and answered the call this time around.

“What is your problem, Ginny? Why the fuc-k are you calling me!?” He retorted.

“Calm down, handsome. I am only calling to ask if you’ve gotten home.” She replied.

“That shouldn’t be any of your business!” He fired and was about to hang up the call when he saw the way her number was saved up on his phone. He gro-aned and placed the phone back against his ear. “Why did you save your number on my phone like that?”

“Is that a problem?”

“Of course it is. fuc-k ! I don’t know what to do about you but just know you are beginning to piss me off.” He hung up the call and then stared at the gate of Emma’s compound before driving off.

Ginny stared at her phone, blankly.

“What did I do wrong? Is it a crime to save my name on his phone like that?” She asked no one in particular.

There was a knock on the door.

She stared at the door without saying anything.

Another knock came in and she remained quiet. However, the door opened and a young maid peeked her head throu-gh.

“Ma’am,”

“Did I ask you to come in?” She gro-aned.

“I was knocking but no one was answering so I thought maybe you were sleeping already.”

“You thought maybe I was sleeping already and then decided to walk in, is that what you are saying? Can you even hear yourself speak?”

“I’m_”

“Don’t even think of apologizing. Get out of my bedroom.”

“I’m sorry, ma. But your mother asked me to_”

“Are you daft? I said get out of my room, you poor thing!”

“I’m sorry, ma.” The maid scurried away, closing the door behind her.

“Arrrrgh!” Ginny gro-aned loudly and plunged onto the bed, staring at the ceilings. “I don’t care what you do or say to me, Robert. Don’t worry, sooner or later, you are going to like me because I know the best way to make a man choose me.” She smirked.

Sandra tiptoed inside her son’s room and sat down on the bed. He was already fast asleep.

“Baby, I’m sorry for coming back home late. Nanny told me you were waiting.” She ran her fingers throu-ghhis soft brown hair.

“I’m sorry.” She leaned over to him and pressed a soft kis-s on his forehead. “I love you, darling.”

“I love you too, Mommy.” He said to her, opening his eyes.

“David honey, I thought you were sleeping.”

“I was until I heard the sound of the door. Mommy, you promised to get back from work on time. Why are you just coming in now?”

“I’m sorry. I had something to take care of back at the hospital.” She explained.

“Hmm. Now that you are here, can you put me back to sleep?”

Sandra smiled as she lay down on the bed, wrapping her arms around David, her son.

“Of course, darling. I will be more than happy to do so.” She said.

David rested the side of his face on her bre@st and shut his eyes closed, encircling his tiny arms around her body.

“I miss you, Mommy.”

“I miss you more, baby. Now go to sleep. Mommy is right here with you.”

“Is it healthy to eat ice cream at this time?” Emma asked Abigail as they both sat in front of the huge flat-screen TV with mo-ana playing on it.

Abigail scooped up ice cream in her spoon and shoved it into her mouth, shrugging her shoulders.

“Not really. But I love it.” She grinned.

“I think your emotions are the ones talking right now,” Emma noted. “Or maybe you are high on the ice cream.”

“Ha-ha. Very funny.” Abby rolled her eyes, shoving another spoonful of ice cream.

The two friends had talked about how their day went. Emma could proudly say her day was better than that of her best friend. She wasn’t trying to compare but she thought her day was worse, especially with the spoilt brat around but she didn’t expect Abby’s day to be worst.

She lost a patient and went throu-ghthe trauma of her childhood. Emma couldn’t even imagine how awful and sad Abby must have felt.

She has seen when Abby goes throu-ghthe trauma, and to be honest, it wasn’t a good sight. It always breaks her heart and she just couldn’t comprehend how little Abby had felt when going throu-ghthe torture and a-ssault from the monster.

They both decided to watch a movie and eat ice cream, intending to forget about their bad day and spend time together. It was a good idea.

Emma needed this moment to forget about her little fight with Robert. However, she doesn’t quite understand why she had reacted that way after seeing the way he had saved the brat’s number. She shouldn’t have exploded like that but she just couldn’t hold back her anger. Maybe she was mad at the fact that he was angry that she gave out her number while he also did the same by giving Ginny his number when he knows full well that the bit-ch wanted something more than being friends with him. Mind you, Robert and her are just friends looking out for each other. Nothing more or less.

Stephen had called earlier, they talked for a while and then said good night before he hung up the call. The little moment she had spent with him made her realize that he was a good guy. Annoying, but funny and cheerful.

They continued eating the bowl of ice cream while watching mo-ana when suddenly Abby’s phone started ringing.

“Aren’t you going to answer the call?” Emma asked.

“Who do I know? And why will anyone call by this time?” She gro-aned.

Emma snatched the bowl of ice cream from her friend’s grasp.

“Answer the call, babe.”

Abby grabbed her phone and answered the call, a scowl plastered on her face.

She was going to talk but the person on the other line beat her to it.

“Dr. Abby, it’s me, Nurse Thelma. You need to come over to the hospital. I have been trying Dr. Marshall’s number but he’s not answering any of my calls.”

“Calm down, Thelma. What is going on?”

“It’s ward 302…she’s dying.”

“What?”
