“Do you know that,,, Jayden hates ugly girls!” She said, and suddenly spilled the container content on Whitney.

It was acid.

“Ahhhh!” Whitney screamed, and closed her eyes ti-ghtly.

She was suddenly pushed sideway and landed ha-rd on the floor.

Whitney opened her eyes slowly and looked at Jade who was on top of her.

“Babe. You alright?” Jade asked.

Whitney nodded, quietly.

Jade turned her angry face to Natalie who was looking frightened and anxious now.

“You mother Fu-cker! You ought to know Jayden can never be yours!” Jade stood up and came closer to her.

Before Natalie could blink, a slap landed on her cheek.

“Ouch” She whined.

“Jayden must have been so crazy to have dated you in the first place. I mean,,, why would you pour acid on an innocent soul!” Jade shouted in anger as she stared at the spilled acid on the floor.

“Thank goodness I was here on time to push her away else, I don’t know what would have happened to her face” Jade pointed at Whitney who was slowly standing up.

“But I definitely know what might happen to yours” Jade nudged her on the face.

“I’ll make sure I burn your face with the most toxic acid ever in this planet. Afterwards, Ill rip off your skin and boil your face in hot oil for an hour”

“No…No. Its not my fault” Natalie shook her head, sobbing.

She covered her mouth with her both palms.

“Instead of you to apologize, you try to defend youself?” Whitney scowled, walking closer.

“I swear…I never wanted to do it. That person told me to” Natalie was shaking now.

“Who?” Jade narrowed her eyes.

Natalie blinked fast, turned around and scurried off.

Jade tried to run after her but Whitney held her hand, quickly.

“I’m fine. Don’t stress yourself too much” Whitney said.

“I knew something was off when you sighed after receiving that message. It’s a good thing I followed you. Come here” Jade muttered, and encircled her arms around her.

Whitney smiled and hug-ged her back.

“Thank you, Jade. You’re one in a trillion”

Jade laughed, softly.

“You can say that again”

“Swears, you are the reason why I’m still in WSU” Whitney muttered, and shut her eyes.

Then, she remembered Natalie’s words;

It isn’t my fault

That person told me to do it

“Gosh. Am I safe here?” She muttered in thoughts.

Jade disengaged from her and traced her eyes to Whitney’s wrist.

“Gosh! You’re bledding!” She exclaimed and held her hand.

“I must have pushed you hard. I’m sorry” Jade muttered.

“I’m fine. If not for that push, my face and body would have ruined. I just scra-ped myself a little. I’ll be fine” Whitney smiled and Jade smiled back.

“C’mon. Lets go to cla-ss” She held her hand. Whitney nodded and they both walked away from sight.

AFRER CLa-ss**

“Clark?” Maureen called, and walked closer to him.

“Hmm?” He looked at her, from the seat he was on.

“Did you get today’s topic?” She asked.

“Yeah. Why?” He asked.

“Thank goodness. I didn’t really un-derstand today’s topic at all. Can you explain it when next you aren’t busy”

He nodded.

“So,,, I’ll visit you in your room?”

He only shrugged his shoulders.

“Clark, by the way. Natalie is very cruel” She pouted.

“Meaning?” He looked at her.

“She nearly poured acid on Whitney’s face but Jade came to the rescue quickly. Natalie must be crazy. I guess she’s just obsessed with Jayden and envies Whitney…”

“Enough” Clark muttered and walked out of her. He was only the one that attended cla-ss that day. written by sommy pearl f.

Jayden and Desmond stayed back.

Many people around heard this from Maureen and started gossiping about it.

Soon, they started making posts about it on social media.

“Maureen!! Let’s go!” Jade frowned, from afar.

“Coming!” Maureen smiled and went to them.

They all started walking out.

Almost getting to their hostel, Desmond started running towards them.

“Whitey?? Whitney??” Desmond called and stopped in their front.

“Desmond?” Whitney whispered.

“Are you alright?” He p@n-ted.
“I was in when I heard the news. You’re alright, right?”

“I’m fine. You heard already?”

“Yeah” He nodded.

“What of….Jayden? Didn’t he hear about it?” Jade asked.

“He isn’t at the hostel now” Desmond replied.

“Jade, Let’s just go” Whitney said, and the 3 girls left him.

“It’s a relief she’s alright” He inhaled de-eperly.

“Natalie!! Natalie!! Can you open the door? Let’s talk?” Clark hollered, hitting the door with his hands.

“Leave me alone!!” She cried out.

“Let’s just talk. I wanna have a word or two with you”

“Well, I don’t wanna talk so…just leave me alone!!”

“Natalie?”

“Its all your fault, Clark! You made me this way” She sobbed.

Clark sighed de-eperly and kept his head on the door.

Desmond entered the room. He saw Jayden preparing an oatmeal for himself.

“Where were you?” Desmond asked.

“Why? You missed me?” Jayden asked.

Desmond scoffed.

“I guess you didn’t hear” He muttered and laid on the soft mattress. He took the barbell and began lifting it

“Hear what?” He asked.

“About your…girlfriend?” He gr-unted. still lifting the weighted barbell.

“Whitney? Whats with her?” Jayden asked.

“Natalie, your ex! nearly killed her”

“What? How?” He wide-ned his eyes and left the cooker.

“Acid…”

“What??! Why!”

“Why? Are you asking that right now? Its obvious you’re the reason!”

“Darn it!” Jayden cussed and ran out.

“Whitney? Open up! Open up!” Jayden said as he kept on knocking the door.

Jade sighed and faced Whitney who laid on the bed.

“He has been knocking for minutes now. Let’s open it”

“Leave him. I don’t wanna talk to anyone right now” Whitney responded.

“I’m not even his real girlfriend so why is he getting worked up” Whitney thought.

“Open the door, please!” He pleaded.

“Okay. I’ve had it. Now, go talk to the guy” Jade said and opened the door.

Jayden jumped in, instantly.

“Whitney? You okay?” He asked.

“Gosh. What’s wrong with y’all? Why do all of you keep asking me that” She rolled her eyes.

Jayden pointed at the door.

“Can we talk?”

“No” She said, flatly and turned her head to the other side.

Jayden scattered his head frustratedly.

“You owe me one. Yesterday, you promised you would make up for breaking a rule”

“What rule?” Jade asked.

“Nothing!” Whitney jumped up.

“Let’s go” She said and took her phone plus her earpiece.

Jayden followed her.

They went to the silent garden which had a fountain. The fountain kept on irrigating water all over the air.

“Make it quick before I get we-t” Whitney said and sat down on the bench.

She looked at Jayden and met him sm-irking.

“What?” She asked.

“Before you get we-t? Sorry, I didn’t get that. Could you explain a little bit” He asked.

She swallowed ha-rd and took her face away.

“Can you be serious for once. What do you want to talk about?” She asked.

“I heard about what happened” He muttered.

“Its fine” She said, looking at the front. His eyes were on her side view though.

There was silence for a while.

“I’m sorry” She heard his soft voice.

She swallowed and her lashes flapped. She slowly turned to him.

“What?” She murmured.

“I’m sorry” He said again.

“And why are you sorry? You did nothing wrong” She said, wearing her silent earpiece in.

“Because of me, Natalie hurt you. I never knew she could act that way”

“Well, she said she has her reason. I’ll make sure to confront her so as to know who sent her,,, like she said”

“Huh?”

“Nevermind. You don’t have to be sorry anyways. She should be the one apologizing”

“You know, you should be paying in cash to my account. Because of this fake relationship, I’m going throu-gha lot” She futher said after a long pause.

“I never thought it would be hard” She mutterd, wearing in the earpierce.

“Jayden? There’s something I need to tell you” She added.

“Yes. What’s it?” He asked.

Whitney bit her lower li-p. She felt anxious and nervous.
