A muffled gasp escaped from her narrow pathed mouth and the notepad fell off her hand.

“Her…next target is Mr Ricardo Jovel? His secret is…Gosh, I know it, of course. His son who everyone thinks is really his son…actually isn’t his son. Jayden Jovel. His true son is somebody else” She swallowed.

“Hey…Hunny? What’s keeping you, huh?” Shannon voice was heard.

“Gosh” Whitney breathed and quickly picked up the notepad and kept back into the drawer.

As soon as she did that, Shannon walked in.

“Oh…Mum. You’re here?” Whitney flashed a smile.

Shannon nodded still holding onto her jaw. Whitney read her mum’s face and sighed.

“It’s serious than I thought. Here” Whitney handed the drugs to her.

Shannon sat down on the huge bed, and soon began to cry.

“Mum! Are you crying??” Whitney wide-ned her eyes in shock.

Her mother never cries. She..never?

Except once when she noticed she was pregnant for Liam. Cussing the guy whom she sed-uce d, and got her pregnant.

“What’s it, Mum??” Whitney asked again, already tired.

“My teeth” Shannon finally answered. Her sobs were lowering down now.

“Your teeth? Toothache?” Whitney asked.

“Yeah. I think I got a tooth cavity or something. Gosh, It’s hurting like crazy. I can’t eat or drink what I want. Mehn!” She frowned, now taking her drugs.

Whitney shook her head.
“Why not make an appointment with some dentist to get the tooth removed or something? You can’t live off drugs, you know?”

“I know right? I’m just scared of the surgery” Shannon said.

“The surgery won’t hurt okay?” Whitney said trying to a-ssure her.

“Who cares if it’ll hurt. Besides, I would be given anesthetics. I’m talking about the surgery bills. I don’t know why money keeps deleting off my account. Not that even spend much here” Shannon shook her head.

Whitney frowned.

She knew Shannon always squandered money, unnecessarily.

“Whoever said money could solve all problems…” Shannon shook her head.

“Probably had enough money to solve them” She added, with a smile.

Whitney looked away.

“C’mon. The pain has subsided. Let’s go. We can’t keep Liam waiting” Shannon stood up.

Whitney nodded and both of them left.

Shannon looked at Whitney whose eyes were on the plate. The cutlery she held was still maintaining the position in her hands.

“What’s she thinking about?” Shannon asked. written by sommy pearl f.

Whitney’s mind was in that notepad contents. Ricardo Jovel? Gosh.

“Its not my business. Let mum do whatever she wants with him” Whitney thought, shaking her head.

“Mum?” Liam whispered.

“Yes, hunny?” Shannon whispered back.

“What’s wrong with sis?” Liam asked.

Shannon only shrugged her shoulders.

“Why I can’t get him away from my mind. Gosh!” Whitney yelled suddenly, getting on her feet.

The two looked at her. Whitney eyes grew big and she gulped, nervously.

“So,,, You finally got a boyfriend? Yippee!” Shannon gushed.

“Keep pulling your legs. I don’t have any boy in my life and I won’t” Whitney said.

“But you said you couldn’t get him out of your mind”

“You don’t un-derstand” Whitney slowly took a piece of cabbage into her mind.

“Hey…Why can’t you date? I’m sure lots of guys crushing on you. Trying to be the ha-rd type, right?” Shannon asked.

“What’s the need of dating someone when we are all gonna leave again? Unnecessary attachment” Whitney muttered.

Shannon sighed.

“Its not so bad. Get someone now before we leave. Its better than being lone-

“I’m done. Thanks for the food” Whitney got on her feet.

Shannon looked at the dishes.
“You aren’t done though. Stay-

“I came for a family dinner and not some family get together” Whitney interrupted, already holding her bag.

Shannon sighed.

“Then, eat that first”

“Liam was right. The foid wasn’t that nice” Whitney shook her head.

“Enjoy…Bye, Liam” She waved at him, smiling.

Liam flashed a wave at her.
“I’ll miss you sis” He walked closer to her.

She squ-atted and pec-ked his forehead.

“Me too. Love. Me too”

Liam smiled.

“I gotta go” She said and finally left.

Shannon sighed de-eperly and faced the squeaking closing door.

Whitney was in the city bus going back home. She couldn’t help but think more about Ricardo.

“That man is too nice. Mum shouldn’t hurt him” Whitney bit her li-p.

“Whitney? Calm down. Breath in. Breath out. Let’s stop thinking and talking about him, okay? Let’s do something better and interesting instead” She thought and took out her phone.

She went online and checked the mesages she had on WhatsApp.

Hi She saw an unsaved contact message.

Hello? Who am I chatting with? She answered.

Just then she received a facebook notification. She checked and saw it was a message from Green Shadow.

“Green Shadow?” She muttered.

“This person isn’t even on my friend list? Let’s see the message first” She thought and clic-ked it.

It was a recording file. She inhaled de-eperly and pressed play after inserting her ear piece into her inner ear.

~~I said I made a bet on Whitney. I’m gonna date her…and I was given a week. if I don’t get her before this weekend, It’s over. I’m gonna have to spill my biggest…secret. I’m…~~

Whitney’s eyes turned gla-ssy, instantly.

“Isn’t this Jayden’s voice?” She thought.

She suddenly received a reply from Jayden on WhatsApp.

This is Jayden..Are you home? Let’s meet

“Fu-ck you, je-rk” She mumbled, and took her sad eyes away.

BIG BENNY’S HOSTEL**

Whitney paused when she saw Jayden by the door.

“That mother Fu-cker” She thought.

Jayden looked front and smiled.

“You here? Finally. I’ve been waiting all day” He uttered, walking closer.

“Why can’t you just let me be! I’m gonna sue you, I swear!” She pointed at him, with her index finger.

She walked past him but he was quick in grabbing her hand which halted her movements.

“What do you want?!” She questioned loudly, her glaring eyes, sparking in spite.

“You wanna know?” He whispered, taking his eyes to her face.

She could only glare at him.

Jayden walked a bit and stood at her front. Whitney scanned the look on his face. He had a calm look on his face.

He slowly raised his arm and fondled her cheek with his palm. Whitney almost shivered. His touch was so intoxicating and exciting. Gosh! The feeling.

His face came closer to her and she clenched her hands on her dress. Her eyes refused to alter for a second.

Jayden’s li-ps moved to her ear and she could only react by shrugging her shoulders a bit.

“I want you, Whitney” He finally spoke out in a low and soft tone. She almost fell for his addictive and appealing voice.

Whitney swallowed ha-rd and blinked at the same time. She slowly turned her head a bit to see his face right there, still over her ear to her shoulder.

Her eyes without control scrolled down and it came in contact with his smooth glowing red li-ps.
