I wore my shades as some guys moved over to me ,one of which I recognized immediately as Leonardo’s security team member.

I sighed in relief as they helped with my luggages and saw me off to my place .

I didn’t call up anyone from home ,not even the girls .

As the driver drove towards my house ,I lay my head on the back seat with tears rolling down my cheeks.

” You can leave , and please don’t stay around ,I feel sick with the whole protection …” I trailed calmly.

” We can’t do that miss Imani ,we got strict orders from Mr Delgado to take care of you ” one of the men said and they bowed ..

I opened my mouth and closed it , before making my way inside .

” Imani darling,you’re finally back . “Ma’am Nana said as she stared at me suspiciously.

I knew she was looking for something to gossip about,which I seriously had no strength to talk about.

I walked passed her and into my apartment.

At this point I don’t even care if she’s offended ,I don’t need her fake love and care right now .

I looked around my apartment which was sparkling clean ,that’s when the smell of Jollof hit my nostrils.

Oh God

I wonder who is in the kitchen .

” Jesus ! ” I heard Tega scream in horror .

” It’s me Imani ! ” I screamed as she raised the spatula in her hand .

” Imani ” she screamed in excitement.

” Why the hell are you screaming imani’s name when she’s in ….oh my word ” Averyl said as she stared in shock the coughed out loud as she dropped the glass on my table.

” What are you doing here ? I mean in Capetown ? You didn’t say anything about coming today ” Tega asked frowning.

” Is that the welcome ? I asked back .

” I know something is wrong right now ,I’m more concerned about that ” she said and Averyl facepalmed herself.

” You have the habit of running away from problems ,did you guys fight or something ? She asked.

I walked passed them and went to my room to sleep.

” Imani Seriosely ? I heard Avy call after me but I didn’t stop .

Immediately my back hit the bed ,I slept off with my shoes still on.

My phone rang For the fourth time in a row ,I woke up switched it off and went back to bed .

” Imani ”

” Wake up girl ,I’m not buying this. you are scaring us ” Averyl said and I sighed .

” Omo who you dey form for ,do we look like Leon ? Tega asked dragging the sheets off my body .

” Girls let me sleep ”

” We will let you sleep when you sit your Ass down and f***ing talk to us .” She said with both hands on her waist .

” It’s my life ,my relationship . What the fvck is wrong with the both of you ! Just let me breath …I need space . Don’t you have your own houses ….? Leave ! I said get out ” I screamed as my lips shook in hurt .

They both stared at each other then back at me .

” Tegs we are going no where ,this is serious ,she just screamed like a mad woman ” Averyl said staring at me worriedly.

” You know it’s okay to cry right ? Tega asked staring at me calmly.

” Why are you girls still standing here ? I asked as I scoffed out more tears .

” We can’t let you cry alone ,so we’ve come to watch you cry ” she said and I bit my lower lip.

” I hurt Leon , I hurt the both of you . Maybe that’s all I’m good at . Hurting people” I said softly.

” You’re scared ,it’s okay to be scared and hurt ”

” He lied , I asked him over and over again but Leon kept lieing to me ”

” He is supposed to get married to a girl named Camila and to top it all up …..” I trailed and stopped on my tracks .

I’ve watched a lot of mafia movies to know the law of omerta .

According to Erduardo ,the less we know the better for us .

He said that to me at the club the other day , telling my friends was risking their safety.

” Hey ,Leon loves you Imani ” Avery said softly.

” I know …I just …” I trailed as I cried .

” I know it hurts ,but ignoring his calls and texts will only hurt you further ” she said pulling me into her arms .

” You know what ? Avy and I are not going to advise you because ,we have no idea to handle situations like this . But I know you need space ”

” So you’re gonna go into the bathroom , freshen up , and eat dinner , then get some sleep ” she said rubbing my back .

” I’m sorry for my outburst earlier ” I said calmly.

” Oh don’t worry , Avy and I will get our revenge later . ” She said and I chuckled sadly .

” You looking good though , Leon has fvcked you ten times fresh ” Avy said and I screamed .

” Avy ”

” C’mon babe ,you’re mad at the guy but he deserves some accolades. Chill ” she said and my cheeks heated in a blush .

” Make sure you call your boyfriend later tonight ,you’re an African , and as a strong black woman that you are ,you shouldn’t be running away from such situations” Tega said and I chuckled out tears .

” I love you sisters”

” Yeye pikin ” Tega muttered in pigin .

I shook my head as a chuckle escaped my lips.

🌿 LEONARDO

I got a report from my men about her arrival .

Imani is just so stubborn she wouldn’t take her calls.

I’m not sure I’ll be able to give her space at all .

I should have just listened to Vince when he adviced me to tell her .

Something I’m not even part of ended up destroying my relationship.

Jeff stayed with me until the wee hours of the morning before leaving for his place.

I couldn’t leave the house ,my head was pounding and I fell sick instantly.

I lay on my bed tiredly,my head felt heavy and my heart burned from hurt.

” Is he dead ? I heard Erduardo’s voice and groaned .

” Nah ,he’s very much alive if I’m not mistaken ” Pierre followed.

” Both of you should get out of my house ” I said frowning.

” Just a little heartbreak from the girlfriend and you have decided to turn into sleeping beauty ,what happens when you guys have a fight after Marriage ? Adonis asked sacarstically.

” My heart is broken ,is this the way you’re supposed to treat me ? I asked softly.

” How did I treat you when you guys were still eating each other’s faces ? Enjoy your heartbreak in peace ” he said sacarstically.

” Ouch ” Erduardo and Pierre said almost in unison as they laughed.

” How did you guys no I’m here ? I asked Calmly.

” Jeff sent an emergency text about you committing suicide ,I was scared to my bones ” Erduardo said and my jaws literally dropped.

” Suicide ? I asked in shock .

” You look like suicide right now though ,why are you still in bed ? Pierre asked .

” I feel sick ” I said and groaned in pain .

” She broke up with you …” Adonis trailed .

” We didn’t break up ,she needs space ” I corrected him .

” No girl needs space man ,that’s just the road to breaking up ” Erduardo said and I sat up immediately and groaned in pain.

” Jeff said she went back to Capetown ? Adonis asked.

” You guys asked jeff ? What kind of personal assistant ,goes about telling my friends about my predicament ? I asked sacarstically.

” He cares about you ” Erduardo said tucking both hands in his pocket.

” I talked to Camila’s father” Erduardo said calmly .

” Duardo I already had a face off with Dad ,I’m willing to talk him out if it. I’m not letting you get into a loveless marriage ” I said immediately.

” You of all people should know how stubborn Padre can be ,I don’t have a girlfriend , Besides I had no plans of getting married , so it’s not a big deal ” he shrugged.

” And Camila ? I asked with concern .

” The spoilt heiress ? I’m sure I have enough luxury to calm her desires ,I don’t have time for her drama ”

” Camila is not someone you should be getting married to Erduardo ” I said and he stared at me.

” Forget about me bro , make plans on how to win Imani back ,I’ll handle the mafia and the marriage alliance” he said and Pierre came back with a glass of water and drugs .

” See why I don’t like the idea of love ? It hurts ” he said gesturing towards my face with pity .

” It’s worth it ” i said and he laughed.

” I’ll be going to Cape Town” I said and they burst out laughing.

” Romeo ! ” Pierre hailed .

He made breakfast and after some time ,I slept off due to the effect of the drugs .

When I woke up ,it was late in the evening and the guys had left after dropping a note for me .

I smiled softly and stared at my phone.

She didn’t even try to call me ,niether did she take my calls .

I sighed softly and wore my room slippers.

Walked over to the other end to turn myself a glass of water .

As I drank from the glass ,my phone rang.

I chocked immediately seeing the caller ID.

It was my girlfriend Imani . I picked up the call trying to stop myself from coughing.

” Are you okay ? What happened to you ,why are you coughing ? Are you sick Lee ? She asked all at once .

My heart warmed up , hearing her caring voice.

” How can I be fine mi Cielo,you left ,you wouldn’t take your calls or reply the text messages I sent ” I said in hurt.

” I miss you ” she said and I bit my lower lip to fight the smile on my lips .

” You left Imani , I didn’t leave you ” I said calmly.

” I had a lot of negative thoughts going through my mind ,I had to leave” she said softly.

” Have you eaten Leon ? I hope you’re not starving yourself again ? She asked and I smiled .

” I’m starving myself ,do you know I’m sick ? I asked knowing she’ll freak out .

” What ! Oh my God . Have you seen a doctor ? What have I done ” she asked in pannick.

” Chill love , I’m fine . The Guys came around to help ” I said and she sighed in relief.

“Leon ” she called .

” Hmmn” I hummed softly.

” We are not breaking up , I’m sorry I even said that in the first place,I was just hurt ” she said calmly.

” I hate the fact that you lied . I don’t care what your family does ,I care about my man and what he sees me for ”

” You didn’t trust me ,that’s what hurt ,not the stupid stunt your dad played .

” You know I love you ,right ? I asked and she fell silent for sometime before I heard her sniff .

” I’m sorry I hurt you Leon ,God I feel so terrible” she said in between sobbing.

” I love you too Leon ,I love you so much .
