∆ KARAOKE BAR ∆

“Hello” Linda said to Joanna breaking the silence that ensued amongst them.

“Nice to see you again” Joanna replied.

“You guys know each other?” Theo asked.

“Well they kind of help me earlier. When you said you were going to meet some of your friends, I didn’t think they were the friends you meant” Linda said joining Joanna and Francis on their seat.

“Does anyone mind doing the introduction?” Alice asked once again using the mic and seizing everyone attention.

When the introductions were done everyone gathered at the table to enjoy the food Nicholas had brou-ght.

Well Alice, Joanna, Francis and Theo enjoyed them selves while the others had some thing to think of which some how disturbed Francis since he could hear their thoughts.

While Alice went back to singing, Francis move towards Joanna and claim her attention cause she kept talking to Linda which he didn’t like.

“Let’s leave” he whispered into her ear.

“Why? Are you feeling bored already” she asked.

“No but I keep hearing their thoughts which is bothering me” Francis said.

“That’s the disadvantage of your powers” she said chuckling softly.

” Theo keeps having dirty thoughts just watching Linda, Jessica keeps wishing Mirabel gone and that’s solely because she wants Nicholas to herself and your friend is making it possible for Jessica to achieve it ” he said starring at Mirabel and Nicholas who look distant even though they were seating close to each other.

“Did they have a fight?” Joanna asked feeling worried.

“Seems like it but am sure Nicholas will do something about it and also you and I need to…. ”

“Let’s give it up for Joanna who will be singing ‘Power of love by Celine Dion’ ” Alice said suddenly, moving towards Joanna while the rest cheered her on.

Having no choice Joanna took the mic and began to sing

Her gaze was trained on everyone as she began but when she got to the chorus, her eyes stayed only on Francis.

She repeat the chorus solely looking at Francis whose gaze was fixed on her some thing which annoyed Evelyn and made Pierce sad.

When she was done and Alice took the mic again, she went to join Francis in his seat.

“Gosh! That was great. You do have a talent and some thing else I noticed was that your focus was solely on Francis, it’s like you were singing the song to him” Theo said guessing it right.

“She is singing it to me” Francis said suddenly taking hold of her hand and pressing it to his li-ps.

“Don’t tell me that you two are…..” Theo pause on seeing the answering look on Francis face.

“Yes we are. Joanna is my girlfriend” Francis said kis-sing her in front of everyone.

And while the happy ones cheered for them, Evelyn who hated the scene left the room while Jessica followed.

When Jessica got out side, it was to see Evelyn standing by the wall crying slowly.

“Are you saddened by that?” Jessica asked.

“How can I not be sad? Francis is dating Joanna” Evelyn said weeping slowly.

” And? Instead of crying, you should be planning on how to get them apart” Jessica said bringing Evelyn gaze on her.

“Francis is a playboy and am sure that he’s only going to use Joanna for a while, he’s like that with most of the girls he date and he always goes back to you after dumping them right?” Jessica asked.

“He does but I have a feeling that he is serious with Joanna” Evelyn said.

“If he’s serious about her, you will just have to do some thing about it” Jessica said just as Nicholas approach them.

“We’ve got to talk Jessica” Nicholas demanded interrupting whatever Evelyn was going to say.

Knowing that she wasn’t needed, Evelyn excused herself and went to the rest room leaving them alone.

“What exactly did you tell Mirabel?” Nicholas demanded.

“What do you think I told her?” Jessica asked in return.

“Don’t play jokes with me cause I won’t let you ruin what I have with Mirabel and…..”

“Or what? What are you going to do? ” Jessica said glaring at him.

“For the record, you can’t discard me. I know a lot about you for you to do that” Jessica added.

“What exactly do you know?” Nicholas asked.

“About the incident that took place two years ago” Jessica said.

“Two years ago?”

“Yes. It took a lot of time and money for your father to cover your deeds but nothing can be covered without a loop end” Jessica said.

“Just what exactly do you know about what happened then ?” Nicholas asked looking nervous.

“Everything. Remember there was someone who witnessed the whole thing? That was me. I saw you that night, I saw you ran off after committing that horrible crime and just so you won’t spend your life in jail, your father payed me to keep my mouth shut”

“And when I met you, I felt that it is destiny that brou-ght us together and that we belong to each other but then Mirabel showed up and you decide to dump me! Get rid of that thought cause I won’t be discarded easily. I will keep my mouth shut as long as you come back to me, call me when you make your decision or if you want, I can just go and talk to Mirabel, I wonder how she will feel when she knows your evil deed” Jessica added gently touching his cheek before she went back into the bar.

Pierce sat watching Joanna and Francis who kept whispering to each other while kis-sing amidst it.

He felt jealous, he should be the one there, he should be the one kis-sing her and not Francis but then he lost his chance.

“You eyes will pop out if you keep starring ” Alice said coming to join him.

“I don’t feel like talking to you” Pierce said.

“Talk? Don’t make me laugh, we both only throw insults at each other ” Alice said which got him sighing out in frustration.

“Starring won’t earn you her love” Alice said suddenly which got him looking at her.

“What do you mean?”

“Only a dummy wouldn’t notice the look in your eyes each time you stare at Joanna” Alice said sipping her juice.

“Is it always your concept to meddle in people business?” He asked hating the fact that Alice saw his feelings.

“As long as I can help them, then am willing to meddle and right now you…..”

“I don’t need your help neither do I want to talk to you. Do me a favour and leave me alone, you are beginning to annoy me” he said erasing the smile on Alice face.

“Fine then. You can seat here watching Joanna and the guy she loves. You loser” Alice said kicking his leg as she walk past him.
