The Female Soldier, Episode Six

"May be he is right. I'm biting more than I can chew. I'm an ant who wants to go into a fight with an elephant. The elephant will just crush me to death. Maybe I will have to draw back and think twice about what I'm doing. The game I'm playing with the General is dangerous. He is far more powerful than I'm. He has more money and influence. I think I should give up and offer him what he wants. Discretion is the better part of valour." The female soldier said to herself.

She had gone to one corner of the uncompleted building where she sat and reflected on her actions and the consequences so far. Pressure had increased, and so did her inability to reason properly. The fact that she hadn't shared her problem with too many people left everything bottled up in her heart. Gradually, she was caving in to the pressure.

The General knows the game of power very well. A seasoned military tactician. He is aware that he is the more powerful person in the conflict between him and the female soldier. He knew that by keeping silent and not calling her to negotiate further, the pressure against the female soldier would increase. His grip on her was the approaching wedding which she didn't want to be cancelled. Time was not on her side and the General was going to exploit this apparent weak point. He knew that at some points, the female soldier would cave in to fear and would be forced to negotiate with him on more favourable terms.

"Today is Thursday and if my fiancée fails to come out from the kidnapper's den, there would be no wedding for us. I don't even know if he would still be alive by then. What have I ever done to deserve this ill treatment from the General?" The female soldier asked herself sorrowfully. She had become weak physically and mentally. She had been processing too many negative information for the past few days and she sincerely wanted the whole nightmare to come to an end.

"If offering myself to the General would bring this ugly situation to an end, then so be it. He said he will just do it with me for once. Just one taste of my honey pot and that's it. After then, I can go and get married to my Acho, the love of my life, the man I have always wanted. There is no sacrifice too big for my fiancée. I will do anything for him. Besides, he is not going to find out that I did anything with the General, so, I'm perfectly safe." The female soldier said. She gradually built her conviction to justify the action she was about to take in other to rescue her fiancée and ensure that her wedding still held as planned. She picked up her phone and called the General.

"I will do it." She said to the General when he picked up.

"Now you are talking. I don't know you to be a foolish woman. I know you are very wise and I have known all along that in the end, you will do the right thing. There is no need for I and you to be fighting like children. We can actually maintain a beneficial relationship even after your marriage. I feel very happy that you have started to think like a normal human being. I'm not asking for too much and I'm not asking you to give me what you don't have. I'm asking you for the honey which I know you have in abundance. Just a simple taste of it, that's all." The General said excitedly over the phone. He was so happy that he almost jumped off from his office chair.

The General's office is actually a very cozy place. It is almost like a apartment of its own with all the facilities needed for comfort. The General decided to use his office instead of a hotel for the bedroom action with the female soldier. He was trying to avoid a situation where the female soldier would lure him out of his office and try to harm him in a hotel room. The office is safe because the female soldier won't escape from the guards easily if anything happens to the General. So, he asked her to come to the office so they can do the bedroom action there.

"I'm waiting for you. The bed in the office has been properly laid. I have been begging you for many years to check out the bed but you refused. Today, I and you are finally going to use the bed. Please, hurry up, because I can't wait to see you. I have sharpened my cutlass and I'm ready for action." The General said with happiness in his voice.

"I need you to promise me one more time that you will release my fiancé and allow my wedding to hold as planned." The female soldier said to the General on the phone.

"I promise. You have to trust me. Once you give me what I want, I will have him released without further delay. And of course, your wedding will hold and I will be in attendance to support you. But I also need you to release my side chick and my son. Please, as you are coming to the office, drive them home." The General said and that was exactly what the female soldier did.

Within two hours, the female soldier went home, freshened up and changed her dress. She put on a nice make up and poured a nice-smelling perfume. She looked so beautiful when she walked into the General's office that afternoon looking elegant in her flowing gown. When the General saw her, he almost fainted. He looked at the female soldier for a long time. She was totally irresistible.

"Wow!" The General shouted as he took the female soldier into the small bedroom in the office. They did not waste any time because the General went straight to the point.

"That's it?" The female soldier asked. The man did not waste time. The whole thing lasted less than 15 seconds and the female soldier wondered why he did it so quickly like a cockerel.

"Yes! That's it! I told you I won't waste any time. I'm not greedy with things like this. I'm so happy I finally had a taste of the pot of honey. I have already instructed my boys to release your fiancé. You can go and prepare for your wedding." The General said. The female soldier stood up, dressed up and left the office.

When she came out of the barracks gate, she saw Acho, her fiancé standing by the roadside as if he was waiting for a taxi to go home after he was released. She rushed to hug him but he quickly pushed her away and she fell to the ground. Just then, a taxi arrived and her fiancé entered the car and left without looking back.

"What just happened? All the sacrifices for you and this is what I get?" The female soldier asked no one in particular as the taxi zoomed off.
