“And then she started blushing,” Kevin ended as I glared at him.

“That’s adorable!”

As you probably guessed that comment came from Callie.

Melissa tried not to laugh, but ended up spitting her water out and dying of laughter next to Callie.

“Not you too!” I groaned, covering my face with my hands.

“You guys would have the cutest kids though,” Callie gushed.

I reached over to shake the thoughts out of her head.

“Alpha babies,” she sang and I clamped a hand over her mouth.

In a way, I was glad Ashton wasn’t here to witness this embarrassing fiasco as Kevin blabbered to Melissa and Callie about me having Alpha kids with Ashton. But I was also worried about him.

According to Kevin he was still unconscious and he’d developed a slight fever. The royal doctor saw him, but recommended rest as the only solution. I sighed and decided to visit him later today.

“Ew!” I shrieked as Callie licked my palm. She snickered as I threw a cork full of water at her.

“I can’t wait for my friends to start having kids,” Callie said, looking at us expectantly.

“You’re going to have to wait for a while,” Melissa said, sipping her water. “My Law degree isn’t going to get itself.”

“Don’t look at me either,” I said and she groaned.

Her hopeful eyes landed on Kevin and he shrugged. “Who knows?”

“Kevin needs to get a girlfriend first,” Melissa teased. “I can’t believe you’re letting Liz outdo you.”

“I don’t have a boyfriend,” I butt in.

“I just haven’t dated that seriously,” he laughed.

“But so many girls like you,” Callie insisted.

“That doesn’t mean I like them back.”

“We need to be his matchmakers. Consider us your wing-women,” she decided and Kevin groaned.

I grinned. “That’s how I felt when you were teasing me.”

“I’m curious as to how you’re so popular and still haven’t lost it yet,” Callie said quizzically.

“Lost what?” I butted in, taking a sip of my strawberry milk.

Kevin laughed. “Are you trying to ask if I’ve slept with anyone?” he asked and I choked on my milk.

Melissa patted my back as the cafeteria turned to look at me in surprise. Nicole and her friends just laughed.

“Please keep it PG for Liz,” she laughed as I blushed bright red.

Callie laughed at my expression. “How much more PG can it get than that?”

She turned to Kevin. “Yeah.”

“That ship has already sailed,” he laughed and my dumb self went and choked again.

“What?” Callie shrieked. “Where? When? How? Who?”

Even I didn’t know that.

“But you haven’t been dating.”

“So?”

“And you’ve been having sex?”

“What are you, my mom?” he laughed.

“Aren’t you surprised?” Callie asked Melissa in shock.

Melissa shrugged. “I already knew that.”

“And no-one told me?!” she dramatized. “I feel so betrayed! Since when are we keeping secrets now?”

“It wasn’t a secret,” Kevin shrugged. “It just never came up.”

“I didn’t know either,” I butt in again.

“Just drink your milk,” Callie snapped.

“Mel knows everything about me,” Kevin laughed. “Except who I am and now she knows that too.”

Melissa grinned. “I have all the tea.”

“I like tea,” I butt in and they all turned to look at me.

“You’re not keeping anything from me, are you Mel?” Callie asked suspiciously.

She laughed at Callie’s bewildered face. “Stop getting so worked up, you’re as red as your hair. You know everything that’s important enough to know.”

“No, I need to know everything,” Callie said. “We’re having a girls night,” she said, making note in her phone. “Tea will be spilled.”

“Kevin knows everything about me too, so it might be faster to just ask him,” Melissa teased.

“Don’t you want to know anything about me too?” I butt in.

The three of them stared at me, and then shook their heads.

I pouted with my milk as Callie interrogated Kevin.

I looked up when the burning gaze on the side of my face became unbearable.

“Yes, Xander?”

He hurriedly got back to the stack of papers he was stapling. “It’s nothing. Just…” he trailed off.

“Just what?”

“Are you seriously dating Ashton?”

So that’s what that all the stares from him in Physics had been about. It wouldn’t have been the first time today. The whispers and looks of disbelief were still being thrown around. I had even been asked by a teacher if the rumors were true.

“Technically, we’re not dating,” I said as I sorted out the reports of the prefect minute we just had.

“Technically?”

“Yeah.”

“So what if Elizabeth wants to be with him?” Elena grinned. “I think they look good together. It’s kind of sweet.”

Xander’s sour expression clearly stated that he didn’t agree with that. “What part of that is sweet?” he grumbled. “Ashton is a bully, a delinquent and the bane of my existence.”

“He can be nice when he wants to be,” I shrugged.

Xander and Elena stared at me, but I busied myself with my papers.

“Are you forgetting everything he’s done?” he said, crossing his arms. “He’s the enemy of the prefect committee; we’re not letting him get to you.”

“It’s really not up to you, Xander,” I sighed and turned to face them. “If I do decide to date Ashton, it won’t be the end of the world.”

“But he’s… Ashton,” he insisted. “All he does is party and sleep around.” His eyes widened in horror. “Please tell me you’re not having se-”

“And what if I am?” I frowned, raising an eyebrow before he could finish that thought. “Look, I appreciate the concern, but you don’t have to worry about me. I can make my own decisions.”

“Yeah, but I want you to make the most sensible decision,” he sighed. “He hurts people… in more ways than one. I don’t want you to get hurt in the end.”

I smiled at them. “You guys aren’t the only ones who are worried about me. The school press has been trying to get a statement out of me. It’s kind of hilarious actually.”

“It’s ironic,” Elena mused. “The lion falling in love with the lamb.”

“Except lions eat lambs,” Xander muttered.

“You don’t have a romantic bone in your body do you?”

“I can be romantic,” he blushed.

“Sure you can.”

“Should I prove it to you?”

I bright pink stained Elena’s cheeks. “Are you asking me out?”

“Yeah.”

“Finally” she grinned. “What the hell took you so long?”

I gathered my stuff and quietly slipped out of the room to let them talk about the feelings they never knew they had for each other. I really wanted to go see Ashton too. I smiled to myself as I made my way to where Kevin was waiting for me.
