“Doctor how is she?”

“She and the baby are fine”

“Baby?”

“Yes she’s pregnant but she should avoid stressing herself. She was a bit stressed out that’s why she passed out”I’m definitely the one stressing her out with my problems.

“Can I see her now?”

“Sure” I step into the room and sign at her. How the hell did she get herself into this?

“Lisa who got you pregnant?”

“Stop acting like my mom. I’m not carrying a bastard of course he has a father”

“Who is?”

“I am” Knox walked into the room. I called him a few moments again. He wasn’t home when she fainted.

“This is insane so you guys have been dating and you didn’t bother to let me in on it”

“You hide Kia’s kids from him so no big deal” “Fuck you Lisa” I scoff.

“So much for not using the f word” I roll my eyes at her. She’s crazy. “Look I’m sorry we hide this from you”

“Since when has this been going on” I asked no one in particular.

“A year” Knox replied.

“A whole year. I always suspected something like this was happening” “Detective” she tease and I huff.

“I’m happy for you guys but it ain’t right to hide things”

“You hide Kia’s kids remember” Why does she keep rubbing it on my face? “If you weren’t pregnant I would have spanked you” “You wouldn’t dare”

“So what’s your plan? Like marriage plans?” “We haven’t planned that yet”

“What are you waiting for? Abey start planning. Me I wan chop party rice”

“I thought you quit this your Nigeria pidgin. You can never change”

“Haven’t you heard a leopard can’t change it’s spot” We burst into laughter.

“I’m glad I have you Nora. You and Angel are the best friends one can ask for but you are pretty stubborn”

“ I’m not stubborn”

“Yes you are” they chorused.

Damn am I stubborn?

I’m really happy for Lisa this is the kind of news I’ve been wanting to hear for a long time.

KIA

“Daddy what really happened between you and mummy. She looked pretty hurt” she asked devouring her bowl of ice cream.

“You are kids you really won’t understand. Its adult stuff”

“Daddy we want you and mummy back together” that was Alex. He looks so much like his mother. Sometimes I wonder if Nora will ever forgive me. I crave for her everyday. I really wished things could return to the way they used to be.

“But your mummy doesn’t want me again. I’ve tried but she is so impossible”

“I have an idea” Jacinta smiled.

“What’s that?”She whispered something to alex and he nodded. He’s like her willing accomplice

She told me something that made me smile.

“Your mom is sure gonna hate me after this”

“It’s gonna work daddy”I really like her she’s a smart kid.Nora did make a good mother after all.She trained them well I’m glad they are not as stubborn as she

is .It would have been a disaster .Imagine having a stubborn wife and kids.

NORA

It’s 8pm and Kia is yet to return my kids.I shouldn’t have consented to this.If I had stood my ground this wouldn’t be happening.

“Nora you really need to take a chill pill”Lisa said.She was discharged this evening.

“Don’t tell me to calm down.You guys talked me into this bullshit.I won’t forgive you all if he takes them away from me”

“Maybe something came up.Have you tried calling him?”

“I did and he’s not picking my damn calls”I stand up and head out.

“Where are you going?”

“I’m going to his house.I’m gonna get my children back”Kia better not be playing games with me.

I opened the door and found the kids and Kia laughing to some silly jokes.

“Kia”I fumed in anger.

“I told you she will come.Hi five daddy”

“What’s going on here? Jacinta Alex let’s go home”

“No mummy we want to stay”

“This is our home”

“Kia you’ve succeded in turning my kids against me.Let’s go home sweeties” “No mummy”

“Sweeties go to your room daddy and mummy need to talk”he smiles at me.

“Ok daddy”they ran upstairs.What bullshit has Kia fed them with.

“We need to talk Nora”He says walking closer to me.

“We have nothing to talk about.Just let me have my children”

“But they are my children too”this guy is getting on my nerves.Worse part he’s smiling.

“I want you back Nora.Can’t you see”He stops in front of me.

“I don’t want you Kia”

“You sure about that”he pins me against the wall.What’s he doing.

“What am I gonna do to you now”he whisper as I feel his breath on my neck. “Fuck”
