The Hole in The Wall

______________

Words were pouring out of Serena like an erupting geyser, all thanks to this Sunday agreement, all thanks to Connor.

She couldn't really explain it, but the intense and heavy emotions that constantly seemed to loom between them opened a spot in her brain that made words flows rapidly.

She had been typing fervently through the days, holed up in her study, letting the words flow through the unspoken ones.

Serena hadn't left her house since she walked in on Sunday, missing the Monday meeting, neglecting her own sleep, and forgetting meals. She was on a role, afraid that if she broke her focus for longer than ten minutes to feed Mayo, she'd hit a dead end again.

Connor's gaze occasionally broke her focus, his calloused touch, tanned body, and deep voice infiltrated her mind in waves of desire. His presence haunting her mind, making her crave things she knew she shouldn't.

The images gave her a rush of heat that stilled her fingers, for a moment she'd glance at her window towards his house before quickly turning back to her laptop.

Serena finished three chapters by the middle of Wednesday, once she hit the final period on her keyboard. She let out a long sigh and sent them off to Melody.

"That women is gonna be over the moon." She smiled to herself, letting pride wash over once the writers block melted away.

It felt good to be on task, to get things done, give her editor more than what was due and give it to her on time.

Serena stood up and ran her arms down her side, stretching her back till she heard three satisfying cracks followed by a wave of relief.

Mayo came trotting into the room, meowing up a storm, letting her know it was time for his lunch.

"Okay okay." She chuckled and leaned down, petting his furry head quickly before darting out of her study and into the kitchen.

Serena opened the door to her pantry and looked down at Mayo's kibble container. Empty.

"Crap...I totally forgot I was out." She groaned running a hand down her face.

When she got up from writing to feed Mayo and slap a cheese stick in her mouth, she was basically a zombie. She hadn't realized she needed to get another bag of food.

Mayo came in the kitchen after her, purring and slamming his head into her ankles. Clearly impatient and hungry.

"Ugh, I guess it was time I saw the light anyways. I'll be right back buddy!"

She grabbed a fistful of her keys, jumping into her converse as she ran to her door.

Locking it behind her, Serena clicked her key fob and her car lights buzzed to life.

"Hey stranger, where have you been?" That velvet voice slide down her body in waves of heat. It made her stop dead in her tracks and whip around.

Connor was standing on his porch, wonderfully wearing little clothing. A pair of loose gym shorts hung low on his waist, his chest bare with the sun illuminating him like he was some Greek good.

Shamelessly, Serena stared, her heart pumping to life to remind her what body parts liked him. She squeezed her thighs tight and took a large swallow.

She may not have been physically near Connor in days, but her mind was practically sleeping with him every free moment it got to wander.

"What? See something you like shortcake." A cocky grin slid onto his lips, and suddenly annoyance plagued Serena. He was still same old Connor.

She narrowed a glare at him and rolled her eyes, grabbing her door handle to yank it opened.

"I was working." She said flatly while she stood between her car door and passenger seat.

"Ah, more of this mysterious work that kept you in the house for about three days?" He walked down his front steps, each inch he grew closer she felt a buzzing electricity all over her. "I was surprised little miss goody two shoes skipped the meeting. Naughty girl, Rena." Connor crossed his flexed biceps across his chest, a playful grin narrowing sly eyes at her.

She blushed, thankful for the distance, or else her crimson cheeks would have given him more fuel, "Very funny Connor, I'm surprised you even noticed to be honest."

He continued to look at her, taking in the askew strands of hair falling from her messily tied pony tail. Before moving ever so slowly down her body. Under his intense stare, Serena felt shy and her body ached for his touch after each second of his wandering gaze. His lips quirked up into a bigger smirk while he traced the edge of her neck, the hickeys that he left there, clearly amused by his work.

"Come here." He rasped out with a gentle nod of his head.

Serena must have been out of her mind, drugged, hypnotized, or all of the above by his gaze because she started walking over to him. Her heart was pounding while she softly nibbled on her lip.

Once standing in front of him, Connor reached forward and dragged a hand up her neck, circling the small red circles that decorated her skin.

She gasped at the feathery touch, nearly biting a hole through her lip to keep from making any more embarrassing sounds.

He sighed and dragged his hand up her jaw, slipping it into her hair to cradle the back of her head in his large palm.

She fluttered her eyes closed when he leaned forward and casted his hot breath across her ticklish skin, mumbling gently into her neck, "I did notice. All I've done is notice."

Those stupid words wrapped around her lungs and squeezed every ounce of air from them, she breathed a shaky sigh and grabbed his shoulders pulling his larger body closer to hers impulsively.

He chuckled and placed a hand on the small of her back. Serena had no clue how someone could glare at you one moment, throw insults around, then say something like that in the same breath.

His lips now were on her neck, hands roaming her body, rubbing the big shirt she was wearing flush to her curves. He took his time, touching every part like he was starved.

His lips kissed and his tongue flicked over her skin, his face pushing kisses up her neck till he placed them along her jaw.

Following them up faster now, more frantic, till he stopped abruptly. Placing one last kiss at the corner of her mouth.

Then they both broke away, Serena was buzzing, her body humming with pleasure and hot lust for more. They stared, Connor's hands still on her.

"You confuse me." Serena mumbled through soft pants and wide eyes. That made him break into a lopsided smile.

"You confuse me, it's annoying." He replied matching her breathless blunt tone.

They stayed that way for another moment, eyes flicking to each others lips, different places along their faces, and the finally back to each others desire drunk gaze.

"Shit I gotta go. Mayo is hungry." Serena's thoughts snapped back into place as she remembered her whole reason for crawling out of the safety of her home.

"Mayo?" Connor wrinkled his nose in confusion as she spun around and darted the short distance back to her car.

"My cat! Stop distracting me!" She yelled while opening her car door.

Right before she was about to get in her car, Connor piped up from his porch, "You look like hell, Serena." His tone made her stop dead in her tracks, it was almost melancholy, and it jarred her to shadowed part of her mind.

First she felt embarrassment, hoards of it. She felt her heart start to bang on her ribcage, begging to tumble out and join the dirty pavement.

She kept her back to him, anxiously wrapping her arms around her body and fixing her definitely rough looking hair.

Then anger. Burning anger that made hot tears threaten at the threshold of her eyes.

"What the fuck is your problem?" She spun around glaring at him. Without much thought she marched back up to him, jabbing a finger into his chest, "where do you get the right to speak to people like that prick."

"Rena, it came out-" He groaned and looked at her with genuine apology, "Listen, you just look tired and a little pale-"

"Deeper hole Deluca."

Serena was five seconds and one more insult away from slapping him across the face.

"Oh god I'm bad at this." He mumbled. "I mean't to say that considering I haven't seen you leave your house in three days I know you need to eat something, and I happen to know the best spot in town."

Serena stilled, staring at him like a strange exhibit. Trying to decipher if this was sweet, or another jab at her. All while her stomach rumbled to life.

"Then what's the place called?"

"Ah not so fast shortcake. This is my coveted, hole-in-the-wall, secret spot; I've gotta make sure you're not gonna bad mouth me to the workers. They love me." He flashed her a troublemaker smile. It softened her, made her relax her shoulders and release a breath.

"I'm sure they do." She rolled her eyes, letting that built up knot in her throat loosen a little. "So what are you trying to say?"

"I've clearly gotta escort you there." Connor plucked her keys from her hand quickly, causing Serena to gasp and make a grab from them, "and it'll be in my car."

"What's wrong with my car?!"

She followed his unimpressed gaze to her Volvo. Sitting there in all its dented, door handleless glory. His simple deadpan look said all it needed to.

"So...she's got character! This was my first car and it still runs great."

"Jesus Christ Rena, let's go before I blow that thing up." He turned and walked over to his glossy black car. They two vehicles looking like a Chihuahua and Pit bull next to each other.

"Hey!" She yelled and ran off after him.

Confusing. They sure as hell were confusing.
