Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 20

“Damilola, I will forever love you. You’re my treasure. I will forever cherish you. I will never leave you nor forsake you. God has brought us together.

What God has joined, let no man put asunder.” Dele said, looking deep into my eyes on that fateful day we met at the restaurant. The way he looked into my eyes made my heart to skip. I didn’t know how butterflies entered my stomach. I was on top of the world.

The moment his hand traveled to my neck, I shivered. I wanted more. I wanted him to kiss me and tell me how much he loved me.

“Can I kiss you?” He asked.

“Yes, you can. Only a light kiss and nothing more.” I said as I closed my eyes in earnest expectation of a mouth to touch mine.

We kissed. At a point, I was losing my breath. It was intense… I had to stop him.

He looked into my eyes and I read his mind.

“Why did you stop me?” He finally found his voice.

“Dele, I’m scared I may lose you to another woman.” I said as he was pleading for another kiss.

“No, I swear with everything in me, I promise to love you. No woman will pluck me out of your hands. I will never love any woman aside you. I will always stand by you.

I will always cherish you. You are the only one I deeply love after the demise of Seun. You are a godly woman. You are purpose driven. I can’t live without you. My world can never be complete without you. Since you came into my life, things changed for good.

I can’t trade you for anything. I can’t love you less. You will forever be my one and only sweetheart.” He said as he held my hands passionately.

” Dele, are you sure? Are you sure you’ll stand by me? Are you sure you will never leave me? Are you sure you’ll accept me just as I am? Are you sure you will accept my past like that? I’m scared” I said in tears.

“Dami, I will never let you down. There is nothing to be scared about. I will be there for you. Remember sweetheart, God hasn’t given you the spirit of fear. Just be positive. Our marriage will work. It shall stand.” Dele said as he hugged me.

“That reminds me, Dele. Can we stop kissing, hugging each other for now until we are legally married because I’m always turned on whenever we hug and kiss.” I said.

” Yes, we will. Let’s save them until we are married.” He replied.

I said “Thank you” to him.

“What passage of the Bible did you read today?” He asked.

I told him all I read and the lessons I was able to get from the passage I read.

Our love for each other waxed strong.

I received his calls almost everyday, very early in the morning and late in the night.

I began to prepare for marriage even when Dele hasn’t said much about marriage.

I surfed the internet to get wedding gown styles…

Mind you, my mentor was aware of all these. She was aware that two of us wanted to tie the knot together.

“Damilola, be more prayerful. This guy I’m looking at isn’t really your man. Nevertheless, let the will of God prevail. Don’t marry out of desperation. If he isn’t your man, God will bring the right man soon.” She said.

“Mummy, Dele is meant for me. I can’t wait for any other man. He is the right man for me.” I replied.

“It is all right. Dami, give me your hands.” She said.

I gave her my hands.

“Dear Father, if Dele is the will of God for Damilola, work out things well. Let all things work out. Let her later end up marrying him.” She prayed.

“Amen.” I replied.

“Dear Father, if Dele is not meant for your daughter, scatter the marriage. In fact, let their relationship break beyond repair. Destroy everything. Don’t let her fall into the wrong hands.”

“A… M…… E!” I struggled to reply.

My mentor was surprised.

Say “amen!!”

I later managed to say amen.

“Dami, in this life, you need to allow the will of God to prevail. Yes, God’s will alone must prevail. God’s will must prevail not your own will. Else, you will bear the consequences of disobedience.

Besides, do you know more than God? Do you know the heart of a man? Do you know what the future holds for both of you?

Dear, let God’s will prevail. Do you hear me?” She asked.

“Yes, ma.” I answered.
