“Mr Daniel Sanni, we can’t find your ATM card in your jacket”. The waiter addressed him.

He belched. “Check well and stop disturbing my life”.

“Sincerely it is not here sir”.

“What of my phone?”.

“I can’t find it either sir”.

Daniel rose to his feet but he fell back on the cushion.

He had drank too much beer and he could only see faintly at the moment.

“Sir you need to pay me my money”. The waiter fired at him and his scream echoed in Daniel Sanni’s ears.

He relaxed on the cushion and closed his eyes non challantly irrespective of the raging waiter.

“How much is he owing?”. He heard a female voice ask the waiter but he was too weak to look up.

Suddenly he felt a grip around him and he was helped to his feet by a person.

“Let us go to your car”. The female voice whispered into his ear and took him out of the bar.

“My name is Obinna Denilson. Since the gardener resigned last two weeks and the Adedejis were in need of a gardener, I decided to apply here”.

“You speak well. I am pleased with that”. Mrs Adedeji said, already very impressed at her new gardener.

He smiled and nodded.

“The maid will direct you to the boys quarters outside”.

One of the maids, Raina directed him to his room.

Ada squinted thoughtfully as she turned to Mrs Adedeji. “His voice sounds very familiar”.

The woman shrugged. “It is very possible that you might have met him on the streets since that was where you grew up”.

Ada was disturbed by the sarcasm in her statement. “Streets?”.

Dorcas stifled laughter as she gulped the bottled water that she had just gotten out of the fridge. She was so excited at Mrs Adedeji’s response to Ada.

Mrs Adedeji rose to her feet and walked into her room.

She had no idea that Mrs Adedeji had started having doubts about her.

Obinna Denilson stood at the corridor and watched Ada.

What would she do once she discovers that the supposed Obi Denilson that they just interviewed as new gardener of the Adedejis was Fred Bakare, the murderer that had killed her two sisters?

Ufeoma sneaked into Chief Adedeji’s study room that evening.

She watched as the man sat in the dark study room, receiving a call in a low toned voice.

The man stopped his call abruptly and sighted her even in the dark. “Who are you?”.

Her heart slipped and she switched on the light immediately so that he would catch a full glimse of whom she was.

“Ufeoma???”.

She swallowed uneasily. “My daddy has joined hands with politician Sanni. I can help you be their spy but only on one condition”.

“What condition?”.

“Your son has to divorce Ada. If you are able to convince your son to divorce his wife, I will do everything in my might to make you win the election over my father and be the next governor of Lagos state”.
