Epilogue

I finished high school with flying colors.

I sent my applications to NYU and Columbia and in both schools, I got accepted! I weighed my options and chose Columbia.

My parents did not have any objections when Emma and I ask their permission if we could live together in New York.

My Mom was actually really happy about that and even say that it was better because I will have someone to look after me. Though they made us promise that we would visit them more often and if they visit us there, they could stay as long as they want. I at first wanted to object to that but then when I felt the pinching on my back and the glare I received from Emma, I shut the hell up.

Emma's parents eventually accepted her and they reconcile. We were planning to visit them before we fly to New York.

Sam is all set to study at UCLA though she was accepted into various schools, she chose her dream school. We promised that we would still stay in touch and visit each other in our free time plus there is a face time so we would be doing that every day, her words, not mine.

As for Kate, she accepted that nothing could ever happen between us and even wish Emma and me luck in New York. I know she was my best friend but after everything that happened to us, we both agreed that it was best if we part ways with no hard feelings.

My sisters are in the house and spent the weekend with us before Emma and I go. They wanted to see me off to college, it was actually sweet of both of them.

We'll fly first to Ohio before New York to see Emma's parents.

We just reached the airport and ever since at the house, my Mom didn't stop crying. I felt like she was sending me to the military or something.

"Mom, I will just go to college. I will visit I promise." I tried to console her but it just made her cry even more.

The people who are passing by can't help but stare at us.

"Don't you think I know that?" She scolded me.

I anchored my arm to Emma, seeking protection.

"You know she never cried like that when she sent us here before?" Murry butted in.

"Yeah, should we be jealous?" We laughed at Anne.

My Dad put his arm on Mom's shoulder trying to console her too.

"Your daughter is gonna be a doctor, save some of your tears on her graduation." He joked at her which made her smile.

"You just, just be careful over there, okay? And Emma, she's really a hard-headed kid, she doesn't listen to me but she does to you, and if anything happens to my daughter, I will hunt you down, Emma!"

We all burst out laughing as she threatens Emma.

"You don't have to worry, Caroline. I have your number, I will call you every day if it means that much to you." Emma reached for my Mom's hand.

"I will hold you to that, Emma." She finally stops crying and hugged both of us.

My Dad hugs as after then my sisters.

"Good luck to you both. I still can't believe you two are shacking up!" Murry blurted out.

My eyes flew to my parents who I was glad didn't hear what Murry said.

I pinched her on her waist and she just laughed it off.

After what I think is a few hours, my family left us and we were already approaching our gate.

They were already letting in the passengers to the cabin.

"Are you ready for our future?" Emma reached for my hand.

I took her hand and found her eyes.

"Like you wouldn't believe!"
