Then after a while, he walked up to her.

“I’m sorry for your loss” He awkwardly said.

“Thank you, Caleb,” Daniella said quickly wiping off her tears. Then looking at the entrance, she asked,

“Where is Nathan? Is he at the doctor’s office?” Daniella asked

“I’m sorry Daniella” Caleb apologised rubbing his forehead.

“Why are you apologizing to me? Where is my husband?” She asked staring at him.

“He left earlier to calm his head I guess” Caleb responded.

When Daniella heard this, she lowered her voice and said,

“It must have been so unbearable for him,” She said fighting back tears.

“I was told you are free to go home now. So if you don’t mind, how about I accompany you home?” Caleb awkwardly asked trying to get her mind off Nathan’s absence.

Being left with no choice, Daniella agreed to the offer.

While in the taxi, Caleb kept stealing glances at Daniella who was trying so hard not to shed a tear around him.

Noticing this, Caleb said,

“It’s okay to cry. Don’t buckle it all to yourself. Otherwise, you might just explode” Caleb said.

And as if waiting for him to say a word, Daniella immediately broke into tears. Letting her emotions flow.

Watching her cry, Caleb slowly took out his hand intending to console her by rubbing her back.

But on second thought, he brought down his hand and looked out of the window.

A few moments later, the taxi finally came to a halt in front of Daniella’s gate.

Then turning to Caleb, Daniella who had cried to her satisfaction said,

“Thanks for today,” She said in a calm tone.

Then finally summoning the courage, Caleb reached for her hand and gently squeezed the back of her palm. Then with a comforting smile, he said,

“I’m glad I was able to help out. And if at any point, you need someone to talk to, always remember that I will always be here” Caleb said.

Then slowly freeing her hand from his grip, she smiled back and got off the car. Then turning to Caleb, she said,

“Once again, I’m grateful for your kind gesture”

“You are always welcomed. Take care of yourself” Caleb said with a smile.

While this was going on, Nathan who had been drinking on the balcony, stood watching them while clenching his fist in anger.
