Frahan stood up and went to his room… I felt bad that I had to lie to him but I had to.. Though I hate to think about it.. My mom was right.. Maybe the sultan is my father but I couldn’t let anyone know about that.. Cause it might be dangerous. I just hope my mom doesn’t say anything about this ever again.

As the days passed, My mother was calm and quiet, She didn’t say anything nor did anything, all she did was eat and sleep.. I was finally Glad and hoped she was getting better but Fate had its own surprises.

One afternoon, I was working alone in the workshop smelting some irons.. There was a commotion going on in the streets of Marida, from what I heard , The Sultan was going to parade the streets of Marida…. I really wasn’t excited about it cause to me I have nothing to do with the Sultan and he had nothing to offer me.

As I was busy working, I saw some people running and talking excitedly.. I didn’t know what was going on, and I didn’t bother to ask.. It was after a while later, that I found out what was going on… While I was still working on the irons, Frahan rushed into the workshop breathing heavily.. After he had relaxed a little , he told me some very unpleasant news.

Sadiq My mother!? What happened to her? Where is she?

Frahan She’s in the market.. She’s confronting the Sultan…

My heart seized for a moment as I heard that… What in the world did she think she was doing?

I quickly ran out of the workshop and went to where she was… It didn’t take long for me to find her cause there was a huge crowd shouting excitedly as they watched what was going on!

I pushed my way through the cored to see what was going on, As I came out in front, I saw my mother throwing stones at the Sultan and his royal guards, shouting and blaming the Sultan for ruining her life.. The Royal guards did all they could to cover the Sultan, one of the royal guards pointed out an arrow and warned my mother to stop but she didn’t… She was caught up in what she was doing… I quickly rushed at her so she wouldn’t put herself in trouble but before I got there, Death had made its way to my mom.

As she was busy throwing the stones at the royal guards and the Sultan, she mistakenly hit the one holding the arrow, He shouted in pain loosening his grip on the bow… The arrow flew right out and went straight into my mom’s chest…

My mom froze clutching her chest as blood poured out of her.. Everyone gasped in horror as they saw what happened.. Before my mom could fall down, I rushed and grabbed her, I laid her down on my thighs holding her bloodstained hands….

I didn’t know what to say.. Tears was just following out of my eyes.. And my mom’s body was losing its color and it was getting pale and cold.. I wanted to tell her everything was going to be okay… But it wasn’t.. She looked into my face, putting her hands on my face wiping my tears.. She smiled as tears dropped from her eyes as well.

Sadiq Mama…

Safina It’s all right my son.. People will know who you are now… Your suffering has come to an end.. Be strong my son.. Be strong.. And remember.. I will always love you.. Always.. I’m sorry…..

After that, She was dead… I held her close to me crying out loud letting out all my pent up emotions.. I didn’t care about the people looking at us.. I was so hurt and angry.. Why? Why did she have to die like this, in the streets, she doesn’t deserve this.. And its was all the Sultan’s fault.

While I held my mom’s cold corpse in hand, The royal guard that shot her, began saying something that made me so angry. He said she had deserved her fate, saying this wouldn’t have happened to her if she had stopped..

Blinded by rage, I pulled out the arrow and rushed at the royal guard with speed… My intention at the moment was to kill and if I kill the Royal guard, the Sultan is next.
