The slave hurries out and shortly after that.. Sufyan enters the chamber… He’s a long skinny man, with an awful amount of ego around him.. He’s the tax collector of Marida and also a money lender.. He loves anything that has to do with money and he loves to drain people of their lives savings.. He’s a hypocrite as well… If he hears any rumor whether it is true or not.. He goes around and spread quicker than a wildfire… Because of his attitude.. Almost everyone in Marida hates him..

As he proceeds into Al-Mukhtar’s chamber… He looks around the place smiling to himself as he stroked his dirty and unkempt beard.

Sufyan Marhaba… Al-Mukhtar.. I come to you in peace…

Mukhtar You lie.. You coming here is not peace… What do you want? I have paid my taxes….

Sufyan I’m not here for taxes… I just came to visit you… You know, to have a conversation or something.

Mukhtar I’m not in the mood for a chat.. As you can see I’m busy..

Sufyan I see.. So how’s your daughter and your wife?

Mukhtar They’re fine… Is that all you want to ask because I’m busy..

Sufyan Sorry Mukhtar.. It’s just that I heard that the queens are considering to chosen Faidh’s daughter Arza to marry one of the princes in the near future..

Mukhtar What?? That spoiled ugly wench is no match for my daughters beauty.. In fact she doesn’t have any features of a queen.. My daughter Salima will marry one of the princes..

Sufyan I agree.. Salima is a rare charm… She would make a very fine queen.. I suggest you do something about that… I’m sure Faidh is bribing the queens..

Sufyan stands up and takes his leave.. Immediately he’s gone.. Mukhtar curses him out loud.

Mukhtar Damn that stinking pig!!! I knew he was up to no good… Here I was enjoying my good hour and now he spoils my moment with stupid rumors… May the gods strike that pig!!
