Felling embarrassed and humiliated, the constable walked away in a hurry. Marian who was somewhat annoyed by his accusations was mute and sad on the inside, she began to walk slowly away from me but I grabbed hold of her arm and pulled her back. She was surprised as I was cause it was a bit early to put my hands around her. Some people who were hanging around the place began to look at us to see what would happen.

Marian Mr. Peter.. What are you doing?

Peter I’m sorry, I just couldn’t let you go feeling sad and all. I don’t believe you’re a swindler. Don’t let what that idiot say get into your head. Do you two know each other?

Marian Not that much.. He wants me.

Peter Oh. I get it.. He was trying to spoil your chances against me by ruining your reputation in front of me. Oh well, his plan backfired.

Marian Mr. Peter, I have to go.. It was nice talking to you. See you some other time.

Peter Wait.. I would like to take you out sometime. When are you free?

Marian This Sunday.
