{Confession of love}

Joe pov

I walked into the room where others had been waiting, the beautiful bulb lights used as decorations on the wall caught my attention. A little smile creeped up on my lips as I walk into the crowd.

I looked around and all I could see were people in nice decent clothes busy partying away.

My mother standing so close to Jessica.

Oh yes did I forget to tell you, my mom acknowledges I and Vanessa infact she likes her and doesn’t care she’s a single mother.

My steps increased as I approached a beauty standing at a corner, her dress so astonishing, her scent so alluring. She looks damn perfect.

“Vanessa!” I called her and she looked back at me smiling beautifully.

“Joe.” She called back, walked towards me and gave me an affectionate hug.

I pecked her cheek and she responded with a kiss.

Everything seems so perfect right? Except for one thing missing Campbell!

“I wasn’t expecting the party to be this grand.” Vanessa said, we crossed hands together and walked away from the party.

“Same here, it was our mother’s decision so we should have expected something like this.” I replied and caressed her hair.

“That’s right, everyone is present except for him and it makes me sad.” Vanessa said and I knew exactly where she’s heading to.

“Same here it’s sad he’s not here, such a smart and cheerful son, Campbell I really like him, if he’s here now this place would be more fun.” I said and she smiled to my response.

“Don’t call him your son yet, we are not married, I wonder what’s taking them so long.” She said looking around casually.

“They will be here soon, his nanny must have had some things to take care of.” I responded assuredly.

“Ok, come to think of it today makes it 5 months since that incident.” We sat on a chair and she rested on my shoulder.

“You mean five MONTHS ago since Faith and Thomas were sentenced to time in prison or 5 months since Chris resigned from work.” I said touching her body.

“Hmm… It all feels like yesterday, I actually thought I was going to lose Campbell.” She replied.

“But you didn’t, since then he has become more persistent, he wants a sister? so funny.” I replied and we both laughed.

“He’s right he needs a sister.” She said.

“Mommy!” Campbell called from behind us and we looked back.

“Ohh my baby, you are here.” Vanessa hollered and carried him upon herself.

“Now, that the family is complete shall we go now?”

“Of course!!” They both chorused.

We all hopped into the car and I drove them to our new residence which I intend to surprise them with.

We got down from the car, amazed by the sight of the house they both gasped.

I held Campbell’s hand as we head inside.

“This is so beautiful!” Vanessa said smiling.

“Yes it is but there’s something more surprising.” I said and covered her eyes with my hands. “Here.” I unveiled her eyes and closed the door locking it from the outside.

Vanessa pov

He pushed me in and closed the door, I looked around the room and saw my parents staring at me.

“What are you doing here?!” I yelled at them, why is Joe doing this?

“Vanessa, please just hear me out please.” Mother said touching my hands.

“Hear you out? For what reasons exactly!” I jerked her hands off and she fell to the ground.

“Vanessa, am sorry, please we are sorry, I have realised my mistakes, I can’t lose my two daughters, my children, I know I’ve failed to protect you two, I know I did wrong, it was all my fault but please just forgive us and forget this.” My dad said and brings out a paper from his right chest pocket.

“What’s this?” I asked as he offered me the paper in his hands.

I collected it from him and checked it.

It was a letter from Faith and it goes:

I really hope this letter gets to you, and if it does I will forever be grateful for this.

I know there’s no amount of words I tell you that will make up for my deeds to you.

And, all I have to say is am sorry, am really sorry Vanessa, all my actions towards you were all because of pure jealousy, back then you were so beautiful and smart.

Everyone wanted to be with you and it got me jealous I want to be in that world in which you live in too and am sorry Vanessa, because of my jealousy I left my own world the world that belongs to me and got entrapped in yours.

How sweet would it be if we can be that beautiful loving sisters we were to each other.

All have been said, just forgive me Vanessa for me to die peacefully at least, I will spend a big amount of my life here in prison repenting for my sins.

Am sorry Vanessa, your big sis really loves you.

I slumped down to the ground crying, my heart felt hurt.

“Big sis, am sorry I really miss you.” I cried wailing.

“It’s alright, she knows.” My mom said and embraced me while my dad joins in.

I embraced them tight weeping profusely.

“Everything will be alright, it’s alright.” My dad adds.

Faith’s letter made me realise some things, believe in yourself, be confident in yourself.

We are all special in our own ways and that’s what makes us different from others.

And for that I will be grateful because have finally abandoned this long held hatred in me.

Thanks to my big sister, she made me his baby mama but in all have learnt a great lessons.

Joe pov

For hours I waited for Vanessa together with Campbell.

I just hope I did the right thing.

“Joe!” She called me holding her parents hand.

She smiled and that only means one thing.

It’s over!

“Thank you.” She said as she approached me.

“Really?”

“Yes, am grateful” she replied and hugged me.

“Hmm… If you are really grateful do me one more favour.”

“Ask me anything, I will be sure to grant it.” She replied smiling.

Yes, it’s time, it’s now Joe you can do it.

I disengaged from the hug and went on my knees as I bring out a small case where the ring lies, her ring.

“Baby, am really shy to say this but Vanessa will you please be my wife.” I finally said and she gasped.

“Oh my God! Your wife? Of course yes, I would love to in a million times.” She said and gave me a quick kiss on the lips.

“Really?” I asked surprised.

“Yes of course.” She replied excitedly and jumped on me.

I carried her and rolled us around.

“Oh my God I can’t believe this Vanessa is mine she’s finally become mine, I love you!” I shouted.

“I love you more.” She said and tightened the hug.

“What about me?” Campbell asked with a look of faux scorn.

“We love you too.” We both chorused and he laughed.

“I love you mummy and daddy.” He said cutely.

“Daddy?”Vanessa asked.

“Yes daddy, finally I will have a sister.” He said and we all laughed.

Vanessa’s parents looked at us with happy faces.

Finally, Vanessa is mine.

She’s mine forever and ever, and I will always love her.
