Thomas pov

It’s been 24 hours since have been held in custody and it freaking annoys me, I wonder who did this.

I crossed my legs over the other glancing through the interrogation room.

“Mr Thomas Jefferson, I can see you are not ready to cooperate.” The investigator in charge said looking at me with strict eyes.

“Have told you that I know about none of your claims, it’s 24 hours already where’s my lawyer.” I gave him my response trying to play smart.

“It’s so obvious, we received an anonymous tip with plausible evidence entailing your embezzlement and the transactions, what other prove do you need.” He vexed angrily and slammed the desk twice.

“Am sorry but your claim is not acceptable.” My lawyer stated as he made his entrance into the room.

“What?!” The investigator exclaimed.

“You have no witness to this evidence, like you said it’s anonymous and thus it’s not acceptable because it’s baseless, that’s why you need my client to confess right? my client won’t be responding to any of your questions and I believe he’s free to go, according to your bosses.” Finn my lawyer said and my heart leaped in joy.

“Are we done here?” I asked the investigator and he scoffed.

“Of course, you are free to go.” He said and we left the room.

I marched to the counter burning fiercely with anger because I know who did this, am sure it’s Vanessa.

Faith’s pov

“What did you call your name again?” I asked the guy with the scary scowling face.

“Am Pascal.” He replied with his thick husky voice.

“Good, Pascal my friend directed me to you and I want you to do a clean and perfect job for me.” I replied and rolled my eyeballs.

“What would you like me to do for you ma’am.” He asked and reveal a slight smile on his lips.

“I want you to trace each and every of Thomas Jefferson steps, report every details to me even whom he meets without being caught, if this is done perfectly I will pay you more than you asked for.” I replied and showed him Thomas picture.

“Thomas Jefferson, right on it ma’am.” He replied and I smirked.

Joe pov

I checked through the files on my desk page by page when I recalled the scene I experienced at Vanessa’s office.

I just can’t take it off my mind no matter how hard I try.

I took the bottle water in front of me and gulped some amounts down my throat and sighed.

I resumed checking the files when my telephone ring.

“Yes?” I picked the call which was directly from my secretary.

“Sir, A woman by the name Vanessa wishes to see you.” She said and I brightened up.

“Vanessa? Tell her to come in.” I replied and end the call.

Few seconds later she entered my office looking stunning in her dress.

“Vanessa, you’re really here, I wasn’t expecting you.” I said, my smile gracing her presence.

“Wanted to make it a surprise and to apologise.” She said and I offered her a sit.

“Apologize? I should be the one apologising for barging in on you and your boyfriend.” I stated and she laughed.

“My boyfriend? Well he’s not my boyfriend, it’s complicated.” She replied and I sat next to her.

“Ok, how complicated?” I asked hoping the conversation would move on.

“That is a story for later, if you are not busy you owe me a date remember?” She said looking at me with those sexy eyes of hers.

“Of course, a date, pardon my manners, Vanessa would you like to go on a date with me?” I asked diligently trying to show a little bit of romance in me.

“Of course Joe Collins the pleasure will be all mine.” She replied tauntingly making us laugh.

“Let’s go then.” I replied and we got into her car.

She drove us to KINGs restaurant where we had an emotional moment.

The way she talked was dazzling, her pretty lips so attractive, her smile so captivating.

All I want is just to apologise to her but am beginning to yearn for more.

Throughout the date all I could think of was how to kiss those lips of hers.

Don’t blame me, I can’t stop my heart.

We had fun throughout the date and she drove me to my place since it was already late.

“Would you like to come in just for a drink?” I suggested.

“I would love to…..”

“Don’t think twice before you say yes please.” I said cutting her off from her words.

“Ok, let’s go.” She replied smiling and we head inside.

“Your place looks nice.” She compliments me as she took her sit on the couch.

“Thanks.” I replied and offered her a cup of wine.

She took the wine I offered her and took a sip.

“Hmm nice.” She said as I sat close to her.

“Of course, Vanessa if am not intruding can you tell me about that complicated relationship you talked about, you know with that guy I met you with the other day.” I asked curiously.

“Why are you so curious?” She asked glaring at me, my gaze fell on her lips filling me with enamored sensations.

“Maybe it’s because I can’t get over the fact that I saw you with another guy?” I replied in form of a question, quite persistently too.

“Why is that?” She asked and I couldn’t think of another thing to say but just feel those lips on mine, my heart racing a thousand beats.

The air blew into the room and in that moment I said.

“Because of this.” I said and crashed my lips on hers’ then disengaged. “Is that convincing enough?” I asked feeling tensed looking into those pretty eyes that I thought I would be lost in forever.

“No.” She said and kissed me back affectionately.

Now that she responded to my advances what happens next.
