Too late - S01 E32

The death of Chioma really devastated Stanley. He wished he could turn back the hands of time but it was too late.

Too late to correct his mistake. Too late to tell her how much he loves her. Too late of everything. If he had seen that the future would be devastating because of his deadly desire, he would have been careful.

Chioma had been buried but the pain was still there. He blames himself everyday for the death of Chioma and his kid. He remembered Chioma with the beautiful smiles. Chioma that would pray for him and heaven would open to bless him. Yet when the blessings came, he forsake her and craved for dangerous poison.

She would still be alive if he had heed to Chioma’s warning.

He remembered a dream he had when he first met Rosa.

In that dream, he brought a dog home and Chioma told him to return the dog where he got it from.

“I love dogs. Can’t you see this one is beautiful” He asked.

“I don’t see any good thing in this dog, return it”

Stanley refused. He took the dog and chained it at the entrance of the door. He entered the house but Chioma and her kids could not enter.

“The dog won’t harm you” He told her.

“You better enter”

Each time Chioma and her kids try to enter, the dog would block the entrance and bark and Chioma would run back. It was getting late and while the dog lay sleeping, one of his son made an attempt to ran inside. The dog heard his voice as he tried to run but he succeeded in entering the house. The boy was happy and the dog started barking.

Charles made no attempt to remove the dog. His other son wanted to enter, but the dog bit him and Chioma became angry. She kicked the dog so mercilessly that the dog attacked her. Stanley could not remember what happened to his first son in that dream but he remembered that Chioma bled profusely. Few people gathered advising her to see a doctor but she refused. She applied different things on the wound. Before he woke, he tried to untie the dog and chain it further from the house.

When he woke, he told Chioma about the dream but she waved it away.

“All dreams cannot be regarded as important” she had said

“At least you can pray. Cancel it with your prayers” he had told her.

Chioma laughed.

“Forget that dream. Its won’t happen oo”

He never talked about that dream again. Now the dream glares at him. His deadly desire has wrecked him. Starting life from scratch is not easy and that is what he is doing. He got a job in a factory as a security man. His son is still with his wife’s sister but hope to bring him to live with him one day.
