(The scene opens to little Ebere sitting down with support at 5 months..over the few months Obiageli’s dream has intensified making the once vibrant woman to become dull…suddenly Ebere slumps)

Obiageli; Ewoooh umu bia leee….Chim biko chim show me mercy my daughter ooo Ebere Nwam mama o Mama!!! Odogwu eeeeiii, Mama Chim ooo! (She cries profusely trying to shake Ebere into consciousness but the baby wasn’t having it)

Chinwendu;( comes in as fast as her legs could carry her as she in now in her old age) Ogini kwanu? Wetyn happen? (On seeing Obiageli shaking Ebere with such force too much for a small child her size she immediately cautions her) Common stop that nonsense you wan kill my grand pikin? Wetyn dey worry you? (She collects Ebere from her)

Obiageli; mama my pikin ooo she just faint (she said admist tears)

Chinwendu; the gods forbid you say wetyn? (She rushes Ebere into her kitchen to grab some onions and oil with a pinch of pepper to resuscitate her…When she done applying them on Ebere, the baby gave a loud sneeze and begins crying again)

Obiageli;( crying in relief ) Ebere Mummy’s girl abeg no matter what never leave your mother again oo…me I will follow you anywhere you go and fight untill I collect you back I don’t mind dying with you in order to bring you back to life (she said admist tears)

Ezemuo;( comes in) Chi Chi oyoyo (his pet name for Chinwendu) Asanwa Nwonodi (he turned greeting Obiageli) how are you?

(Chinwendu explains to the Ezemuo what just transpired and the Ezemuo shakes his head…he asks that Odogwu be sent a message to come back home urgently)

Ezemuo; (collects Ebere from Obiageli’s arm and looks intensely at the child…he then says to her) YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE , GET MARRIED, BEAR CHILDREN AND DIE AT A VERY RIPE OLD AGE…

Chiwendu and Obiageli; Iseeeeeee

Ezemuo;( He turns to Obiageli and hugs her sideways) keep up the good work and make sure in your dreams that the other woman doesn’t overpower you and collects the baby, any day that happens you will lose this baby..

(Chinwendu looks at Obiageli in as confused way)

Obiageli ; I’l try my best Wise one but you have to pray the gods bestows strength upon me because recently the woman has been waxing stronger while I grow weaker…

Ezemuo ; don’t worry my daughter the gods are with you on this matter.

Chinwendu and Obiageli; Iseeeee

Chinwendu; Wise one I get yam and oil make I carry am come as we dey wait for my son in law

Ezemuo; ahhh wiser woman make the gods give you more years to live…(he is left with the crying Ebere)

(Somewhere else)

Maaame Queen; we must stop this man he wants to expose my child and my plans (to her entourage) what shall we do?

Child 1; Mother let’s kill him

Maame Queen; No my child we can’t kill him…it isn’t his time to die yet

Child 2; Mother let’s delay Odogwu

Maame Queen; Correct and that we shall.

(Maame Queen sends a snake to bite Odogwu’s heels)

Odogwu; ahhhhh my leg, ( he shouts hiding his leg) Chim my leg oooo…agwo agwo, tufiakwaa, (he looks around for a means to tie his leg and when seeing none..removes his wrapper and attempts to tear the edges so he could tie his leg before the potion gets to his heart and kills him.)

(He hops home admit the pain of the snake bite and the steady sweling area of the snake bite)

(He manages to reach home but in a breathless state and in need of obvious medical attention…)

(The chief priest who was half into his meal quickly jumps up and hands Ebere to her mother and proceeding to help Odogwu…)
