Sister Nkasi - S01 E05

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 5

My heart pounded like atardo pounded in a mortar and pestle.

Millions of thoughts traced my brain as I read the whole conversation.

Sis. Chikwado and Pastor John are a thing. She got pregnant for him, and he asked her to terminate the pregnancy. She aborted the pregnancy, had some complications as she bled for days. Out of fear, she confided in her choir mistress; sis Nkasi for counseling, not knowing sis. Nkasi is her rival, who is also in love with her man;Pastor John. Sis. Nkasi decided to blackmail Pastor John with that to get at him and also have him working to her bidding, that’s sleeping with her.

Pastor John didn’t want his dirtiest secret spilled before all the church, he decided to play safe by hiding the dirtiest act and admitting to what he didn’t do, blaming me for it and I, ESTHER, became the victim.

After Adaobi had left and promised to keep in touch with me for our next move, I began to think of how to vindicate myself.

“Do I just walk to the senior pastor to show him the conversation that had ensued among these three, or should I set another plan?” I asked myself.

On the next week Sunday, I decided to show the senior pastor the screenshots. Sis. Adaobi sent them to me, so she could delete them from her phone. I copied the screenshots to my laptop to avoid the story that touches the heart.

After church, I was waiting behind among the numerous persons who were waiting for the senior pastor, sis. Adaobi called me on phone to come to ifite junction, which was a junction close to my church. I told her of my plans to show the senior pastor the screenshots.

“No nah! He won’t believe you. He would think you made it up. After all, their phone numbers are not showing there, aside their pictures. Anyone can add someone’s picture to the DP to impersonate the person. Come to ifite, I have a plan.” she said.

“But the dates at which the conversations took place are there.” I argued.

“Nne, I know our senior pastor more than you do. You are still in 100 level, you don’t know him. Come to ifite junction, I am there waiting for you.” She concluded and hung the call.

I picked up my bag and walked out of the church building immediately.

As usual, since I was banned out of the church work forum, the church members stopped talking to me. When they see me on the road, they look the other way.

I got to ifite junction and met sis. Adaobi sited in a kiosk where they sold recharge cards.

“How far? What is our next move?” I asked her as I was so anxious.

“Nne, calm down. One step at a time.”

“Ok…” I said, nodding my head.

“I want you to invite pastor John to your place. Record your conversation with him. It is more authentic to WhatsApp screenshots.” She suggested, looking at me closely.

“ See you, someone who has not been picking my calls since that day until today. How will he agree to come to my place. Biko Kwa…”

“Trap him!” She clapped both hands, “Trap him!” she said again, and continued.

“Send him an SMS message, tell him how you actually had something for him a long time but didn’t know how to tell him. Tell him you understand he lied but you believe must have propelled him to do that, but you don’t mind, all you want is him. You both should actually now have the main fun together, since you are no longer a worker in the church. Spice it, tell him you genuinely long to hold him. Like, sis. Esther, make him come to your place. Persuade him, you are a woman.” She clapped again.

When I got home, I sent him an SMS for the first time, he didn’t respond. I kept sending different messages for a week, he did not respond. I became frustrated and invited sis. Adaobi to come over to my place.

“Honestly, I am tired of these. This is not going to work. He’s never going to come. He is not dumb.” I said, almost crying.

“Relax, ok? I wonder why he’s not responding. In fact, let me see the messages you’ve been sending him?” She asked me.

I handed her the phone, and she went through the messages.

“No wonder!” She exclaimed,

” what type of messages are these? My friend, you are sounding Christian. He would never risk it. He can’t trust you with these messages. You still refer to him as pastor John. He knows you know he’s lying. Calling him pastor is like mocking him. Drop the pastor.” She said, as she looked up the ceiling and began typing a message, which read,

“Hey! Seems you don’t want to talk to me? Sorry for disturbing you for the past week SMS. I can’t help but to keep thinking about the last time you hugged me. It felt good. I want you. I want to f*ck you. I guess this would be the last time I would send you a message. Interested? Come to my place tomorrow at 9:00pm. Let’s do this, boo. I’m waiting boo.” She typed, adding emojis and was about hitting the send button.

“Sis. Adaobi! This sounds so filthy. Please don’t send it.” I told her.

“Dirty? Nne, someone who has an affair, ordered for the termination of his child, knacking one of the finest sisters in fellowship and still come on pulpit to preach is filthy on his own. I am convinced, sis. Chikwado is not the only person he is having things with. Nne, this message is just the exact thing to capture him. You need to show him you are dirty too for him to trust you.” She convinced me and hit the send button.

“He will respond if he has been eyeing and I think he likes you, if he didn’t, he wouldn’t have hugged you that very day. Pastor John is a dangerous player. He…” She didn’t finish speaking when a message came in, pokom! She immediately shouted out of excitement,

“He has responded!” She clicked on the message and read aloud.

“I can’t wait to have you in my arms. I’ve longed for your body, beautiful one. I’m glad it is mutual. I’m gonna spank your ass really good. Catch ya!”

“Hahaha! I told you. He is a naughty guy. His eyes have been on you since.” she said

“Ada, I’m scared o. I don’t think it’s a nice idea. What If I am unable to resist him?” I asked.

“Don’t worry, I’m going to be around. I am going to be hiding there…” She pointed at the back door balcony, looking at me and smiling.

“Yes! Yes!” I shouted, hugging her tightly.

“You are such a smart woman.”
