Sister Nkasi - S01 E03

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 3

I decided to step forward before everyone to share my truth.

“What sis. Nkasi just said is untrue.” I said as I began to cry, “Yes, he hugged me, but nothing happened. He was just consoling me… Daddy, this was what happened.” I cried further after narrating everything that had happened.

Everyone was shocked that I had a different story from what sis. Nkasi had.

“What would you achieve for doing this?” I yelled at sis. Nkasi but her eyes betrayed me again as she turned to the other side, pushing her nose and mouth in the air like a monkey.

The general senior pastor instructed me to sit down. I had the intention to walk away, but I remembered my parents, I would be dead if I dared, I would be withdrawn from school. I knew my mom, she was very strict and she held church authorities and doctrines close to heart.

When I sat down, the general pastor asked around for people who saw some signals between pastor John and me. 95% of the church did raise their hands, including my friend, Esomchi.

I was destabilized, I felt near the end of my stay on earth, I was longingly expecting to kill myself. My entire body went numb, and my chest grew tighter and tighter as I sobbed, as fear and shame closed in on me.

I so much was eager to have pastor John speak, I had faith in his speech, it would go a long way in vindicating us.

“Bro. John, could you please come forward to share your story?” The general senior pastor called out to Pastor John, and my heart leaped and grew in hope.

He stood up, kept his Bible and walked up to the position we stood earlier, took a deep breath and began,

“I am really broken, all these things are happening. My heart is battered. I wish this is a dream.” He said, arranging his belt as he continued,

“Sis. Esther and I were actually in the room. I visited her because she was not in fellowship that day. Getting there, I found her dressed in a very short attire, I requested her to go change her outfit or I will walk out, but before I could say anything further, she had already dragged me to the bed, luring and begging me to sleep with her. I was helpless and weak as a man. I fell into the trap.” He said.

An atmosphere of confusion and anxiety generated within me immediately as I shouted aloud like a mad woman.

“No! They are lying sir, daddy believe me, pastor John? What are you saying?” I shivered from the cold and pain in my heart.

The general pastor asked some sisters to hold me, so I don’t injure myself and ordered pastor John to continue.

After pastor John had finished speaking, the general pastor took up from there by giving out a very lengthy speech,

“…We all have heard from all parties, it is obvious that something happened. Sis. Nkasi and pastor John have confirmed that, although sis. Esther is denying it. But, it is all fine. This is the church of God, God would fish out the truth for himself. It is his church, not mine. Therefore, anyone who is defiling the church of God would bear the cost.” He said sternly and continued,

“Bro. John, you are hereby suspended for three months. You should not be seen handling any church activities until you are done serving your punishment, and you sis. Esther, you are hereby withdrawn from the church working department. You shall no longer work for the church or God, this is for denying and not being remorseful. If you had owned up, it would have been lesser, I would have probably suspended you and recommend some ministers to pray for you and deliver you from the shackles of FORNICATION. But you chose the hard way, therefore, the church of God would handle you the hard way.” He said and continued,

“Henceforth, you are to sit at the black chair at the back. That’s if you decide to still attend this church.” This he said, dismissing the meeting.

I couldn’t walk, I became extremely bittered. My life was completely out of proportion. I was enveloped in darkness as I walked home that day. I had tried to talk to Pastor John and sis. Nkasi to know what was going on, but the both of them refused to talk to me.

“What is happening? Who really is pastor John? Was he threatened to lie? Why would he lie against himself?” I kept wondering until I got to my lodge.
