Sister Nkasi - S01 E02

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 2

I couldn’t sleep that night, wondering on what had transpired.

I had to call Pastor John to know how it went with him and sis.Nkasi.

“Don’t bother about it. I will handle her.” He told me.

I was so confused on whether to talk to my mom about the incidence or keep it to myself. I was scared that mom would tell my Dad about it, and I knew she would never believe nothing happened. So, I kept it to myself.

The next fellowship day was a Sunday, I went to church earlier because of our usual choir rehearsals.

I could see sister Nkasi coordinating the choristers as I excused myself and entered the rehearsal room.

The way she looked at me disdainfully left me with cold feet throughout the rehearsals. I couldn’t concentrate. During the rehearsals, before I left.

“ Sis. Esther, you won’t be singing with us. You can go into the church now and, please, don’t sit in the choir seat henceforth, until further notice.” Sis. Nkasi instructed me.

I was surprised and not surprised at the same time.

I picked up my bag, went into the church and sat in the congregation.

As usual, Pastor John noticed I wasn’t in my usual choir seat, so he asked a brother to call me outside the church.

“Why are you not singing today?” He asked me.

“Sis. Nkasi instructed me not to sing henceforth until further notice.” I answered.

After church service that day, I left immediately and vowed never to return to the choir forum until sis. Nkasi graduate.

Two weeks later, I had calmed myself and worried lesser about the incident that had happened, but was shocked when my name was called upon on a Sunday after the church had dismissed.

“Sis. Esther, you are to wait behind to see the General Senior Pastor immediately after sharing the GRACE, and all the members of the church should wait behind for a crucial meeting.” Bro. Kunle announced.

I was destabilized immediately. I knew it was about me and Pastor John. He didn’t even officiate that say. I couldn’t hold myself, the shame, the misunderstanding but, I was a bit cool because I knew nothing happened.

Soon, the whole church were gathered, and the senior pastor began his speech. He started talking on how God was ready to clean the church and expose those who have been defiling the church of God, making references to previous acts and how God exposed them.

“Sis. Nkasi” the senior pastor called out to her, “Could you please, narrate exactly what you told me about a brother and a sister? Come to the front, so everyone could see and hear you.”

She walked to the front, with her black skirt flaring here and there. She stretched her hands together and adjusted her glasses as my heart pounded. She was wearing an orange colored jacket, a black turtle-neck inside, a black skirt and an orange colored scarf. Sis. Nkasi was very beautiful and had straight legs. I had always admired her beauty and voice since I got admitted into the university. She had a sonorous voice and was one of the most beautiful sisters in the fellowship.

I looked around to see if I could see Pastor John, our eyes met, and I quickly removed my eyes. He was calm and cool, that I wished I could be that cool, not like anything happened.

“ As the choir mistress and a sister who follow-up brethren in church, I went to visit sis. Esther in her lodge because I didn’t see her in the fellowship that day. Getting to sis. Esther’s house, I found her door opened, so I didn’t see the need to knock. Stepping into the room, I found Pastor John on the bed, holding unto sis. Esther. He was almost lying on top of her, planting his lips into hers, exploring his hands all over her body and smooching sis. Esther at the same time as she moaned. He was about to unhook her Bra, having pulled her blouse, when they heard me shout. They immediately left themselves and Pastor John jumped up. I turned around and ran away, as he followed me, calling after me, but I didn’t allow him to talk to me.” She said, as the entire church shouted “Jesus!”

The whole church were now murmuring and shouting, “hey! I said it.”, as some people said,

At that point, I wished the ground would open wide, so I could fall in. My brain struggled to process the million thoughts coming on.

“How could a sister lie this way.” “How do I defend myself? Who would believe me?”

“Is this the best way to handle a case as sensitive as this?”

I was still in deep thoughts, when the senior pastor called out to me to narrate my side of the story.

At that point, I was in tears while pastor John had his head bent down.

“Sis Esther, please step up to the front to tell us your side of the story.”

My legs were frozen, all eyes were on me.

“Do I walk away from this meeting or stand by and say my truth, which is the truth?

Would the senior pastor believe us?”

To be continued…

Would the senior pastor believe them or sis. Nkasi?

Stay tuned!

If you are the one in this situation, what would you do at that point?
