When we got to the taxi driver’s house, Raymond was the one that knocked.

The house of a ‘taxi driver’ was built like a mansion.

A fat woman was the one that opened. “Who are you looking for?”.

“Does a Steve Austin live here?”.

“Steve Austin is my husband, any problem?”.

Raymond showed her his identify card. “I…”

“Police again? It is not even up to a week that my husband got back from prison. What do you people want from him again?”. The fat woman cried out.

Steve Austin approached the door and blinked cluelessly at us. “Any problem?”.

“Can you step outside for a brief chat that won’t take up more than ten minutes?”. Raymond suggested.

Steve Austin nodded and moved further from the house.

We followed him.

The fat woman remained at the door, watching us.

Raymond met Steve’s eyes. “You seem to be good friends with Nathan”.

Steve avoided his eyes. “Only Nathan understood that anyone can make mistake, even if his dead wife blamed me till she died. He catered for my family while I was in prison. I had killed his only son but he had mercy”.

Raymond nodded thoughtfully. “Thank you”

“Are we done now?” Steve shrugged and walked back to his house.

“While he was in prison, a specific police woman served him meal every morning and treated him like a king”. Raymond muttered.

I bit my lower lip. “If the death of Nathan’s son didn’t affect him so much, why will he divorce his wife?”.

“It says it all. Nathan was always looking for a way to divorce his wife”.

“I have found a way to make Rosa come back to me”. Ryan told Raymond excitedly.

“What mischief are you pulling this time, Mr mischievous?”.

“Dominic has a personal doctor. A handsome one at that”.

“You want to pay him to snatch Dominic’s heart?”.

“He already likes her so it would be quite easy for him. His parents work at KIA motors”.

Raymond gasped at him. “You want to threaten him with his parents source of living?”.

Ryan rolled his eyes. “Rosa is what I want, and even if it is to end my life to get her, I will”.

“You are obsessed with her”. Raymond observed.

Ryan smiled to himself. “I have not even started”.

I gave Mirabel the sample she had ordered for.

She looked closely at me. “Can you help me, Rosa?”.

“Help you do what?”

“Can you help me get Raymond to love me back? Talk to him since he regards you as his best friend”.

“Love you back?”.

“If you can do that for me, I will make the whole world forget about your past”.

“…and how do you intend to do that?”.

“I am Mirabel Anderson, the first daughter of Alexander Anderson”.

I and Raymond waited behind a blue container in front of Nathan’s house.

We had already sensed that one person will meet Nathan today.

If it was the woman that he had been cheating on Gretta with, they would find out whom she was and if it was Steve Austin, it will mean one thing…

…he had come to inform him about a detective(Raymond Maxson) that asked about his relationship with Nathan.

…and that meant one thing…

…that Steve Austin was Nathan’s HITMAN.

…and if the murder of Nathan’s son was planned.

As we waited, I was nearly out of breath.

I sat on the floor.

Raymond sat beside me right there on the floor and gave me a bottle of water from nowhere which I flipped open and gulped till the very last liquid.

He looked worriedly at me. “Are you sure you won’t go home? You have waited so long with me already?”.

I met his eyes emotionally. “Gretta might have been so annoying when she was alive, but discovering more about how she had suffered so much, if I had known that Gretta had suffered this much, I would have been much more easy on her”.

“What if Gretta wouldn’t have appreciated you pitying her? She might have liked it that way”.

We heard footsteps and we looked up.

Ryan.

He parked his car and moved towards Nathan’s door.

He knocked and Nathan opened.

He smiled mischievously and pointed towards where I and Raymond were hiding. “Be careful of those two that have been spying on you for hours”.

Raymond came out of our hiding place but I remained there and watched.

He glared at him. “What do you think you are doing?”.

“What do I think I am doing? You call yourself my friend and you are gradually taking my woman away from me?”.

“What the hell do you think you are talking about?”.

“Rosa stopped drinking and smoking because of you! She turned a new leaf because of you and now you think you can solve a case together? I am way richer than you are, but still, you always steal the whole attention! I was thinking that you will always talk to Rosa about me, but instead, you are enjoying her company all in the name of a case? At least this ‘f***king case will end once and for all and you can leave Rosa alone!”.
