The Black Serpent coven was silent as they mourned the death of Miss Imini, the mood was sober.

“Pandora as much as you have brought Joy to this coven, you also brought pains to us ! Imini was as young as yourself when she joined the black serpent coven. She has brought down ten pastors of light , she brought her mother , her father , her brothers and sisters we ate them here on this altar. You are arrogant , because the old man Satan has a special love for you , he gave you powers incomprehensible, you abuse your powers and attack your kind! Imini served for twenty years!”

Vera was boiling in anger , she was trying not to bring down the roof of the coven.

” Vera for leading a rebellious attack that claimed the life of your matron Imini you’re to bring the head of your mother !! And father cause an accident before the next moon meeting or else my snger will be unleashed on everything you love and for your rebellious bats , you shall bring fifteen heads from Crownford to aopease the supreme lord for your insurrection.”

They were served blood juice and fried meat . Vera’s stomach was too tight to eat . There was no way she was going to kill her parents.

She stopped attending Crownford coven night meetings.

“Pandora we have been waiting for you to lead the coven’s assembly ”

Vera was unconcerned, she ignored the witches standing in her closet.

“Vera the supreme lord will burn us and send our souls to hell if we don’t give him the fifteen heads of the innocent , you’re lying on the bed unconcerned? We don’t know how to go about it !

Vera turned to them .

“I’m not going to kill another person for the coven , I’ve done many things I am ashamed to admit , the supreme lord Is not merciful! We’re just trash before him…”

One of the witches who came to surmoun her shut her up.

“Pandora don’t you be arrogant!! The supreme lord isn’t merciful, your words are blasphemous ! ”

Vera hissed like a snake .

“Who among you can stop me ?

Her eyes were getting red like embers of burning fire. They were all terrified.

“Baby who are you talking to at this time of the night ?

Vera was caught off guard by her mum .

“I wasn’t talking to anyone mum, why did you entered my room without knocking ?

The eleven years old Vera boldly told her mother .

“Baba I ignored your self talk back then because I thought it was your imagination running too weird , but know you’re begining to scare me ! I think I should take you to see a psychiatrist?”

Vera smiled .

“Mummy I’m fine , I’m not crazy , I love you mum goodnight”

Her mum left her room she banged the door behind her with Psychokinesis powers she shut the door and locked the jam lock all while sitting on her bed .

“Efura and Godsend I’m done killing people for the coven , go and plan your attack! I can’t sacrifice all my family for the coven . Don’t ever come back here to invite me anymore for meetings , I’m leaving the coven”

The two witches disappeared from the room changed into a bat and flew back to Crownford mini coven.

” Victor please you cannot go with this bus on the excursion.”

Vera begged her brother,but they was no stopping him, the coven had planned to push the bus off a cliff on their way back from the excursion. Victor wouldn’t listen to Vera he went along for the excursion to Nasarawa state .

On their way back the Efura and Godsend with the other members of their mini coven were waiting for the Crownford school bus .

The bats were invincible for this operation, they pushed the vehicle down the Eggon hills , the eighteen seater bus tumbled down the cliff, Vera flew in grabbed her brother Victor and dropped him right outside the vehicle, everyone in the vehicle died.

” Good afternoon madam!

The school receptionist called Mrs Susan

” Yes Good afternoon , who are you please?

Mrs Susan asked, she was wary of speaking with strangers .

” Ma’am am the receptionist from Crownford school.”

Immediately Mrs Susan was eggy ,

And very tensed.

” I hope all is well ?

Mrs Susan asked, her heart was beating very fast..

” Ma’am the vehicle your son was in with other students was involved in a fatal accident, we lost everyone on board the vehicle except one person , who is currently in the intensive care unit of the federal medical center Keffi, we would like for you to go and confirm if your son is…”

Mrs Susan couldn’t wait for her to complete, her statement when she ran out of the office immediately she drove her car, towards Maraba road before she remembered to call her husband, he too started driving to Keffi.

When Mrs Susan got they she was first taken to the mortuary to check if her son was amongst the deceased students ,she wept as she saw young girls and boys in their suits and tie lined up on the floor of the mortuary for identification. They opened the covering on the fifteen students on the ground victor was not amongst them .

Two teachers and the driver was also among the dead . Parents were arriving they wept as they identified their kids among the dead .

They had to wait for five hours , before Victor was out of the theatre, were the doctors battled to treat his internal injuries. He was wrapped up in bandage from head to toe. His leg was suspended in the air with a sling , he had fractured his ribs and broken his leg. The Adie’s were happy that their son was alive when others were not so lucky.

“Baby are you in pains?

Mrs Susan asked while gently, running her hand through victor’s hair , her voice muffled by tears and crying, her eyes were swollen and red . Victor couldn’t talk , he only nodded . He was in the hospital for two weeks when he was a bit stronger he was transferred to Abuja to get a better treatment.
