Miss Imini laughed hysterically at poor little Vera as she stood like a bird drenched in rain water begging .

“Please help me beg the supreme lord, I don’t want to kill my brother”

She pleaded , this made miss Imini laughed the more .

“You cannot bite the hand that fed you ?

You became a disobedient brat , a little tyrant and a disrespectful insect . I’ve been in the coven for twelve years before you were born , I’ve been in that coven for twenty years. You who joined only a year again got double promotions to catch up with me ! And you dared! Undermine me !! You may choose not to offer your brother! But you’ll give your life instead “.

Vera was broken she begged her the more . With her spirit voice she screamed at her to get out of her office. Bats from the Black serpent coven came to warn her about dangers that would come upon her if she disobeyed the instructions of the supreme lord, thar kelvin had to die .

Vera refused to sacrifice him, so the supreme lord put a sickness on her ,she was paralysed from head to toe , she couldn’t move her body , her parents took her to the best hospitals in Abuja , all test were done on her but nothing could be found . She became so lean and emaciated.

” Veraaa…. Veraaa. You love your brother more than yourself?

The Coast mother mocked her.

” If you don’t bring your brother for the slaughter, you’ll die and your soul and body will be escorted into hell , no one disobeys the supreme lord , king of serpents and lord of the sea “.

Vera would be screaming in the hospital .

” Mummy help me ! Mummy help me ! Mummy I don’t want to die ! The Queen of coast is here she wants to kill me.”

The doctors in the hospital and her mum dismissed this as mare delirium or hallucination from high fever .

Her dad wanted them to take her to see a strong pastor or call their pastor to come pray for her , but his wife wouldn’t buy the idea that her daughter had a spiritual problem .

“Mr and Mrs Adie please the MD would like to see you in his office .”

The Adie’s went in to see her .

” Mrs Susan and Mr Adie Obogo please I called you here to inform you that the hospital board has decided to discharge your daughter…”

Mrs Susan interrupted her .

“But why do you want to discharge her ? She’s not recovered , she’s not even improved .”

The doctor smiled warmly.

“Mrs Susan that’s more so the reason why we need to let your daughter go home, she’s been here for three months , we can’t diagnose what the problem is with her , we’ve done every scan to see what the problem is but we couldn’t pinpoint a cause of her illness, so we suggest you fly her abroad , or take her home , you have spent over eleven million naira here in three months, we don’t know what else to do .”

Vera cried as her dad carried her fragile body into the car , every touch sent an electric shock of pains down her spine . She was taken home and left in her room .

The supreme crowned prince came to visit her.

” Pandora are you going to die for an insect ? Your life is more important than that of anyone in your family , let us take your mother “.

Vera rejected, he called all her family members, she refused , until told her she was to die by twelve A.M if she didn’t choose somebody, that he had been begging the supreme lord on her behalf because she was his betrothed. Vera gave up .

” Take Kelvin”

Her mom who had been watching her talk to herself , was surprised when she heard that phrase.

” Who are you talking to Vera?

She turned her face from her mum as a stream of tears gorged down her chicks.

” Oh God what have I done to myself?

The nine years old girl cried bitterly.

They was a big ceremony in the coven , Vera was asked to bring any belongings of kelvin to the coven she walked up to Kelvin’s room why everyone was sleeping and picked a pair of boxers on her way going out , the Nanny Rinky who heard the noise and came to investigate saw Vera walking .

” Vera so you can now walk ?

She was surprised because Vera had to be Carried to the toilet to poo or pee. And now she walked all the way from her room to the Kelvin’s room .

“Why did you go into Kelvin’s room?

She saw the boxers

“What are you doing with Kelvin’s boxers”.

she asked .

Vera didn’t reply her, she looked at her in a maniacal way that sent cold down Rinky’s spine . Her eyes began to glow red , she began to speak incantations in a strange language.

” Please Vera don’t kill me !! Please Vera I won’t tell your mummy ! Please , please! Madam !!!”

Vera lifted Rinky up with her eyes and smashed her head on the ground .

She was struggling like a slaughtered headless chicken fighting to escape to no where . Vera immediately teleported into her room , when her parents came out . She locked her door from behind , and her spirit flew to the coven . She knew she had to kill Rinky , because Kelvin told her about all her escapades and she believed him, and she was going to expose her , that she was a witch and that she killed Kelvin .

In the coven the witches and wizards celebrated as Vera brought the boxers ,and Kelvin was invoked upon their altar , and Vera was given a knife , she held the knife for some time , then plunged it into his heart and Kelvin who was shedding tears, screamed and died immediately. The Adie’s called the police who came in to investigate and pick Rinky’s corpse. The Adie’s were asked to follow the police to the station for interrogation. They were in the police station from two AM in the morning till about four pm when their lawyers came for their bail .

Rinky’s scream and sudden death was a mystery to them , her head looked so battered as if she was hit by a truck , they was a look of shock and fear in her face . Nobody could explain what happened to poor Rinky, who had served the Adie’s faithfully for five years.
