Paul’s POV

I am detective Paul Davis the officer whom Charles Anderson reported the lady who defamed him to. After going through her profile I told Charles that we could have her arrested and he agreed. So I gathered three junior officers and we went to arrest her. She lived in a one room apartment in the poor neighbourhood of Brooklyn New York. When we arrived at her apartment, no one was home and so we decided to wait. After 15 minutes, I saw her turn the corner on her way home. I told the officers with me heads up guys here she comes. She was carrying a bag of groceries and I stepped out of the police cruiser. I walked up to her and said hi and she responded hi sorry do I know you? I said no and I flashed my badge and told her that I am detective Paul Davis from the New York Police Department (NYPD) and she said yes officer how may I help you? I told her you are under arrest for deformation. I cuffed her and proceeded to read her her rights I said that you have the right to remain silent for anything you say or do would be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney if you can’t afford one, one would be appointed to you by the state. I asked her do you understand these rights I’ve just read to you? By this time she had tears in her eyes but she nodded in the affirmative and I put her in our car and we were on our way back to the precinct. Once we arrived, I told one of the junior officers who accompanied me to arrest her to put her in the interrogation room. I went to my office and met Charles there going through his phone and he asked me have you arrested her? I said yes and he said well I’d like to see her. I told him that you had better let me handle this. He pleaded with me and I told him that I’d let him watch my interrogation of the lady from the observation room and he said oh thank you.

Lillian’s POV

When we arrived at the police precinct, the detective who arrested me handed me over to one of the officers in uniform who accompanied him to arrest me and he told him to put me in the interrogation room. Once in the interrogation room, the officer first of all undid my cuffs and told me to sit and I said thank you. He left me alone in the room to think about my life. When I remembered the crime the detective mentioned, deformation, I knew instantly that it must have had something to do with Charles Anderson. I was alone with my thoughts for about 30 minutes before the detective walked into the room. He took a seat in front of me with a table in between us and he asked me are you comfortable? I nodded my head in the affirmative and he said now down to business. He dropped a photograph in front of me and asked me do you know that person? The person in the photograph was Charles Anderson by the way, I tried denying knowing him but the detective caught me and said you should since he is your baby daddy. That was when I decided to come clean. I told the detective that I’m not pregnant that in fact I just met Charles Anderson a few nights ago and that was when I tried to embarrass him with the fake pregnancy and he asked me but why would you do such a thing? I told him that my mother is seriously sick and that she has cancer and that we didn’t have health insurance. He said oh so sorry and he asked me so what does that have to do with you trying to put a fake pregnancy on Charles Anderson? I said that someone offered to pay me to do it and he asked me who? I said that I was scared, that the person is a very dangerous man and that I wouldn’t want to cross him. The detective offered to put me and my family in witness protection where we would be safe from who so ever the person is. I told him that it was Kenneth Henry who paid me to defame Charles Anderson. The detective asked me is it the same Kenneth Henry former CEO of Robinson enterprises? I said yes that’s the guy and he excused himself from me and left the room. But before he left I asked him so what next and he said that is up to the person who you tried to tarnish his name. He said that I hope now you know that a life of crime doesn’t pay. I told him that I know, I pleaded with the detective to help me ask Charles to forgive me and I hope he understands why I did what I did.
