Charles’s POV

On our way out of Diana’s office building, I asked her what vehicle she would like to use in going on our dinner date? She asked me what do you have in mind? I said that I had the company limousine parked outside. Diana jumped up and giggled like a little girl and said yeah a ride in a limousine sign me up for that. Then I said oh come off it Diana you have ridden in a limousine before and she said not since we’ve been engaged and she added I haven’t ridden in a limousine with the man I love so much and at this her statement, I blushed and I admitted as much. When we exited the building, the limo driver was ready to go with the vehicle. He asked lady and gentleman were to this beautiful evening? I whispered the location we were heading to into his ear and he had a smile on his face and he said excellent choice sir. He opened the door of the car for Diana and I to enter. After we had gotten into the vehicle, he shot the door and went to take his seat in front of the wheel. On the way to our date Diana was chatty as usual, when the driver pulled over in front of one of the best seven star restaurants in the city, I could see the look of shock on her face. I then told her not to be shocked that we have the money we might as well enjoy it. Then the driver came to open the door for us to exit the vehicle. When we walked into the restaurant, the manager came to us and asked if we had a reservation? I told him our names and he said oh sorry right this way with a look of shock on his face. He led us to one of the VIP rooms in the restaurant. When we got into the room, I then went and pulled out a chair for Diana to sit and she said oh what a gentleman and I said my mother trained me well. By the way, the restaurant room which we sat in was made of transparent glass so we could see who so ever walked into the restaurant. A waiter walked up to us and asked may I take your order? I and Diana picked up the menu on our table and I scanned through it and I ordered for a beef steak with a little rice and some cheese on the side. Diana on the other hand ordered for a plate of spaghetti with a chicken and chicken sauce. The waiter asked us if we would like to have anything to drink while we waited for our meal? I asked him for their wine menu and he handed it to me and I ordered for a bottle of white wine. When the waiter went to get us our drink, I and Diana started talking. I said that we have been engaged for over nine months now and she cut me off and said so what are you trying to say? I asked her so when are we getting married? She looked into my eyes and said please darling just give me some time and I asked her how much time? She said okay in three months time on the 10th of that month. You wouldn’t believe the amount of joy that coursed through me when she said that. I jumped up and she said careful you are embarrassing me and I said I’m sorry and I took my seat again. Diana asked me why did the restaurant manager have the look of shock on his face when you mentioned our names? I told her that probably because I bought the restaurant about a week ago. She said hmm and I said can’t help it I love good food. She asked me have you eaten here before buying it? I said yes about five times. After a while I realised that Diana was staring in a particular direction and I asked her what is that and she asked aren’t those Daniel and Nancy? I said it sure looks like them and they were just walking into the restaurant. I was about to ask Diana if she wanted to go say hi but she pre-empted me by calling them over. Daniel was my best friend in high school while Nancy was Diana’s. But due to the fact that his father wanted to relocate to Boston, he had to leave our high school and Nancy’s father also relocated to Boston and so we hadn’t seen each other for many years now and we lost contact.

Diana’s POV

I called Daniel and Nancy over to our table, Daniel was looking dashing as usual while Nancy was also looking beautiful too. When they came closer and realised that it was I and Charles that were calling them, Daniel was so excited as he jumped up and gave Charles a big hug. Nancy on the other hand came to me and gave me a lovely hug. Charles asked them to have their seats and he asked Daniel what has it been 15 years we haven’t seen each other? Daniel responded yes and Charles asked Daniel what do you do now? Daniel responded I run the branch of dad’s company here in New York but looking forward to returning to Boston, because his father is a Boston based billionaire. I asked Nancy what she was doing now? She said that I run my own cosmetic business. They both asked me and Charles what we were doing presently and we told them that we were basically in charge of our fathers companies. The waiter brought our bottle of white wine and he also apologised for keeping us waiting for the food saying that in about 15 minutes time the food would be ready. As I wanted to collect the wine glass from him, Daniel saw my engagement ring and he asked are you two engaged? We responded yes and he said oh congratulations and asked so when is the big day? I said that it was in three months time on the 10th of that month and he said are you serious I and Nancy are getting married on the 7th of that month and Nancy showed us her engagement ring. Charles and I both told them congratulations and Charles ordered for two more wine glasses and he popped the bottle of wine and proposed a toast. He said to us, our impending nuptials and our happiness and we all clicked our wine glasses together and took a sip of the drink. Daniel asked Charles to be his best man on his wedding day and Charles accepted but on one condition that Daniel would be his own best man on our wedding day and Daniel accepted. The same arrangement was made by Nancy and I. Just then, the waiter brought our meals and I exclaimed well it’s about time! Daniel and Nancy excused themselves saying let us allow you enjoy your food and they went away to have their own meal. After our meal, and Charles was right by the way the food was fantastic, Charles went in search of Daniel and Nancy to collect their contact while I went to settle the bill. After settling the bill with Charles’s credit card which he gave me, I saw him and Daniel exchange complementary cards while I did same with Nancy. Then we excused our selves telling Daniel and Nancy that we were on our way home.
