MAMA NARRATION (MAMA SIDE OF THE STORY)

#FLASHBACK (18 YEARS AGO)

“Chris, I thought you’re a brother and confidant, but you proved me wrong, I trust you but you failed me. Is it a sin that I trust you?” Richard uttered mewling.

“You’re a fool to trust me; I once told you I will take back everything that belonged to me from you.” Chris now Chief Chris rebutted as he laughed hysterically.

“This is what a fool like you got in return for their kind gestures.” Chris concluded, he signaled an armed boy behind him and Richard was sprayed with bullets by the boy.

“Idiot! Let go boys.” Chris commanded and he led the way out of the house.

I came out of the toilet as tears rolled down my cheeks; I witness the brutal death of my beloved husband, I was helpless and weak, I held his left hand and I could felt the coldness; he has truly gave up the ghost, I couldn’t scream nor yell, I just sat down helplessly looking at my ghost but beloved husband. I was eight months pregnant back then, I was carrying the pregnancy of Ola. Mr. Richard Donald was my beloved husband also the father of Ola, he was such a darling husband, a handsome and lovable man; a man of many girls dream, he rarely get angry or furious, he’s a business tycoon and he’s financially okay. It happened that Ola’s grandfather married Chris’s mother after the mysterious death of Ola’s grandmother, it was barely ten weeks after the death of Richard’s mother that his father re-married to a single mother of one; Chris. Richard and Chris never for once submit to each other, even though Richard is few months older than Chris, Chris’ mother always tried to protect his child from another father, she would beat up Richard blue black anytime the two antagonists are in word of war even if Chris is at fault. Four years later, Richard’s father gave up the ghost mysteriously. Two weeks after the demise of the Chris foster father, the lawyer came into the family to read the will, the head of the family and some extended family members were also invited.

“It was quite unfortunate that our late brother and father gone too soon.” The lawyer condoled.

“Well, I’m his lawyer and I’m here to read the will of Late Chief Donald.” He paused as the whole listeners adjusted their sits.

“The late Chief wrote in his will that 15% of his properties belonged to the extended family, 20% of his properties go to his wife and his foster son…” He paused.

“What?” Chris’ mother yelled loudly in disbelief.

“And the remaining 65% of his properties goes to his beloved and only child, Richard Donald.” The lawyer announced.

“The late Chief Donald has laid down a curse that anybody of group of bodies that try to re-will his properties shall face the wrath of the god of iron.” The lawyer concluded and he rose on his feet.

“I think I will have to leave now.” The Lawyer concluded and waved the family goodbye.

My beloved husband was 19 years of age back then, we’re already courting and we love each other daringly, we moved out of the house and settled in Richard father’s house in Port-Harcout.

Chris used to call Richard on phone and he would threaten him that he will collect all what are his from Richard. After a year of our marriage, some armed robbers broke into our house, they neither ask for money nor jewelries, rather they make Richard bring out all the documents of his properties and he was forced to sign the documents that he has bestow the ownership of all his properties to Chris. As if that wasn’t enough, Chris succeeded in killing my beloved husband. After the burial of my husband and the birth of Ola, I left the city of Port-Harcout and settled here in Lagos. Chris never retreat tailing me, during my courtship days with Ola’s father, Chris on several occasions has asked me out but I never for once fall for his sugar-coated mouth, he once told me that he would have easily killed me but because of the love he has for me, he couldn’t.” Mama narrated with tears in her eyes.

PRESENT

“Father, I can’t believe you’re this evil.” Angel yelled loudly.

“So you killed my father?” I uttered with tears in his eyes.

“I know I can’t be sorry for all I have done; ‘I’m sorry’ can’t stop my destruction today.” Chief Chris paused.

“I hereby will all my properties to Ola since he is the rightful owner of all the properties I dubiously possess.” Chief Chris announced and Angel and Princess opened their mouth wide in agape.

“Father, you’ve killed us.” Angel yelled loudly as she rolled on the floor helplessly. Princess was dumbstruck and weak; she was just looking like a Moron.

“What a father!” Princess sighed in disbelief.

“The evil that man do!” Mr. Martins exclaimed as he shook his head pitifully.

“I hope I’m forgiven?” Chief Chris asked.

“Father, if I may ask, what’s in that exercise notebook that you always keep from us?” Princess asked.

“Hmm… the notebook was once my diary; inside the notebook I wrote the date and day I killed my foster brother and took possession of his properties.” Chief Chris answered smiling.

“Gosh!” Princess sighed.

“I only pity these beautiful daughters of yours, they’re innocent on this matter but you’ve use your own to destabilize their lives and futures.” Henry said pitifully.

“I only help these beautiful angels, I’m never their father; I adopted them.” Chief Chris concluded and his statement was quite shocking.
