LOCATION: COMPREHENSIVE HIGH SCHOOL

“Sir, my son is innocent on this matter, he knew nothing about the rape incident. I know he is stubborn and troublesome but I trust him he can’t do such a… ” Mr. Chorus begged with eyes shook with tears.

“Cut the crap you this heartless man. Your son is innocent indeed. Are they not sheep in goat’s clothing? So you can plead on behalf of your son, whereas, you never show up for once to check on those two boys that are in our custody you’re so heartless and selfish. Now that your son is involved you’re telling me trash. Officers!” The warrant officer who leaded the team to the school blasted and enunciated plausibly.

“Sir!” Recruit Audu and Corporal Martins answered and they saluted professionally.

“Mr. man, where is the boy classroom?” The warrant officer asked dejected Mr. Chorus.

“His class is behind this building.” Mr. Chorus replied pointing with his index finger at a building that is in blocks with the catering classroom.

“Audu and Martins, take him along with you to the boy class and you must make sure you apprehend that idiot.” The Warrant officer concluded and Audu and Martins saluted as they turned to leave.

“Move… walahi if you no wake fast I go do am for you.” Officer Audu barked at Mr. Chorus who was now stunned. Mr. Chorus sluggishly turned 90 degree and he leaded the way to Leo’s classroom.

(LEO’S CLASSROOM)

“On stand, greet…” A female student called the attention of other students but she was restrained from coming down with her statement as Mr. Chorus barged in.

“Please hold you greetings. Where is Leo?” Mr. Chorus asked unwillingly.

“Leo and his gangs left the classroom some minutes ago.” A male student replied from the back seat of the second row.

“I guess they are in their territory.” The student finalized confidently.

“Territory? As in I don’t understand… okay, can you take us there?” Mr. Chorus asked bewildered.

“Me? I can’t go there sir, that place is out of bound for ordinary student like me.” The boy rebutted assertively.

“You know the place, right?” Corporal Martins asked with some kind of husky voice.

“Yes sir but…” The boy replied but unfinished with sad impression on his face.

“Don’t worry nothing will happen to you.” Corporal martins assured.

“Please take us to the place.” Corporal Martins finalized smiling.

“Okay sir.” The male student submitted. He walked sluggishly and uninterestingly to the front of the classroom.

“Now let go.” Corporal Martins concluded as they left the classroom for Leo’s territory.

“What is your name?” Corporal Martins asked the boy as they walk along the shallow bush that lead to the school poultry and fish pond.

“Ste…ve… s..ir.” The boy answered stammering.

“Stop being coward Steve, you’re a man… beside we are here with you, so trust me nothing bad is going to happen to you.” Corporal Martins cautioned and assured unflinchingly.

“Thank you sir, it’s not that I’m coward but Leo and his friends belongs to a deadly cult group called Bravura Demolisher…” Steve defended but was restrained from concluding his statement.

“Cult?” Mr. Chorus and Corporal Martins sighed in disbelief.

“Walahi finpipal, if you no walk fast I go shot am for leg.” Recruit Audu threatened Mr. Chorus who was shambling slowly.

“You mean Leo and his friend are cultist?” Corporal Martins asked in disbelief.

“Absolutely sir… and I fear…” Steve answered but unfinished.

“Disgusting! Cultism in secondary school not even tertiary institution again.” Corporal Martins voiced out serenely.

“Bravura Demolisher is the deadliest cult group in this country. Rumors carries it that the members of the secret cult works for politicians. Bravura Demolisher dominates almost every institution in this country. I’m surprised that they now have branches in secondary schools.” Corporal Martins elucidated.

“But Steve, are you sure of what you are saying?” Corporal Martins asked, just then the beep of his phone could be heard.

“Oh! A message from the warrant officer.” Corporal Martins uttered, without a second thought he opened the message and he was really horrified of what he read. He couldn’t believe his eyes, he washed his face with his left hand and he read over and over again but that doesn’t change anything from the texts.

“What’s it sir?” Steve asked suspiciously.

“The warrant officer told me to leave those boys, he wrote in the message that they are innocent and they know nothing about the rape incident that happened in the school recently.” Corporal Martins announced but he is purposely directing his statement to Steve. Steve was shocked, he looked at Corporal Martins with eyes shook with tears, he felt like the ground should just open up and swallow him because he knew he will later regret his stupid action which was born out of his stupidity.

“Thank you Jesus. I told you my son is innocent, isn’t that obvious now?” Mr. Chorus announced with smile all over his face.

“I don’t believe that your son is innocent Mr. Man, I know there is a mix-up somewhere and I am telling you that we are coming back for that cultist and assassin very soon.” Corporal Martins uttered dejectedly but angrily.

“Walahi, our ogas for barrack don dey craze, I no say na them work be this.” Recruit Audu voiced out angrily but not literarily.

“Sir, please I’m begging you, apprehend Leo and his comrades now, I don’t want to lose my life after losing that of my father in their hands… please sir I’m begging you, I am still breathing because I hungry to avenge the death of my innocent father. The pains and suffering him and his comrades caused on my family. Sir, I could vividly evoke the way he spoke on that very night and the mewling of my rare father, the unwillingly moaning and whimpering of my lovely sister and the yelling of my dearest mother. Yes!
