The following morning came with so much sadness in me.I felt like crying that faithful Tuesday morning.

I knew that I had blown my chances of winning money to pay the money stolen.Only God could turn things around.

As I thought of all that had happened,I had a call that Kwesi one of my friends had died.

The person who called me asked when I would be available for the funeral because the funeral would be on Friday.

“So Akwesi had died for a long time and you are now telling me huh!.How could you be so wicked Ernest. I thought we were friends…Biggie asked hitting his lips.

” I just saw the poster this morning my guy.I went to the public toilet and saw it on the wall.

I was socked to see Akwesi pronounced dead and never believed the story line until

the woman who sold papers at the public toilet narrated every bit of Akwesi’s dead case to me….Ernest explained.

She hit me with the news that,Akwesi was involved with a theft case.He had stolen a man’s money in his neighborhood.

The man approached him and asked him to return his money but Akwesi refused ever seeing the man’s money,let alone taking it.

He asked him for about three times,yet Akwesi denied stealing his money.

The man then went to a Mallam and struck him dead.The woman told me that Akwesi

just died last wednesday but because his death was not a natural one,the family had decided to burry him on Friday….Ernest elaborated.

I was gripped with fear on hearing the news.So Akwesi died for his own mistake,were the words which propped out of my mouth.

I told Ernest that I would be available for the funeral on Friday and thanked him for his explanation before I hunged up.

Like Thomas in the Bible,I could not still believe Akwesi was dead.So I promised myself to attend the funeral and see for myself his corpse.

If it was really true that Lucy was the one who took the money,she too could be struck dead should Bro Mike decide to use the native way.

I was not ready to loose Lucy because of the love I had for her was exceptional. I won’t be able to live in this wicked world for her blood would be on my hands.

Even though I wouldn’t be blaimed by others for killing her but I would rather blaim myself

should anything happend to her because I was the one who brought her to the house in the first place.

I had to find a way to prevent such mess I had created for myself.

*Never date your ex girlfriend’s friend.The outcome does not turn out to be positive always.

I thought I was right,taking Lucy to have my revenge on Pebbles,but I was wrong.Little did I know that I was making a mockery of my own self.

But for Lucy,I would have pushed away all this mess I have created for myself.Even though I almost won a lottery for myself, I was about dying for a stupid case I knew nothing about.

I could have died only for her to leave.Such nonentical love only existed some two thousand years ago.But for now,due to world fashion we want to resurrect the past.

Jesus himself was fed up with such unconditional love on the cross proclaiming to the good Lord to let such test bypass him.

What would have been the headlines on people’s lips should I have died.

“Biggie,the saviour of Lucy or better still people would have made a mockery of me even to my corpse.

I was just favoured I did not die out of wedlock.I would have regretted ever dating my ex girlfriend’s friend.

I slept calmly,expecting a miracle to just happen before things got out of hand.

I was woken up by the nurse who attended to me.She informed me that I had a visitor who happened to be a female at the door and asked if she should send her in.

I asked the nurse if it was Lucy,my girlfriend at the door but she responded negatively which meant that it wasn’t Lucy at the door.

Who else could this be,I mummered to myself and asked for the nurse to send her in…..To be Continued*
